Stocking Fillers HELP

Hi all, really hoping for some inspiration here! I know its only April but Im trying to be organised for once and spread the cost.

My daughter will be a year old at Christmas, any ideas for stocking fillers?

I also have a teenage brother, 3 year old niece, 5 year old and 9 year old nephews, I would like to do miniature but good stockings for them.

ANY suggestions welcome!

To me a Xmas stocking must always contain:

an apple
a satsuma 2 of 5 a day bonus
Bag of choc coins
tube of sweets - fruit pastilles or similar - wrapped

and then one or two age appropriate gifts priced £2-5 ish.

I plan to do as my parents did to us overexcited children, when they are old enough. The stocking is allowed to be opened any time after midnight, as long as the parents are then left in peace until at least 7am Grin

And this isn't too early at all as you've reminded me that I planned to make a gift each for my DDs stockings. Maybe knitted dinosaurs.

I would love to make something for stockings but I am so ham fisted the only thing I could 'make' is probably a turkey sandwich! :-D

Chunky crayons
Happyland figures
Toddler cutlery set

Magic flannel

Musical instruments (plastic maracas type thing)

I honestly do have a whole shelf of plastic storage boxes with their paint (set of 12 big squeezy bottles for £15!) and various stamps/sequins in pots/special wooden mobile packs/sewing packs/next birthday party bag bits etc etc. DD is only 20mo but I can see us doing them all in the future and secretly want to do them on my own already Blush

Im exactly the same, I was daydreaming about one day colouring in the Xmas cards with my currently 18 week old dd! It really is a great website though perfect for niece and nephews stockings.

Thanks for your ideas Fuzzpig, I was really stumped as everyone seems to think shes too young for a stocking but I really want her to have one.

You may well get some scribbles out by xmas - as soon as she can grip you can get the crayola washable pens for babies and let rip! My DD preferred to stand to do it rather than use the highchair, but whatever works will build confidence and help you reach your colouring in dream (although 2 or even 3 may be a better target for any real colouring in!) Hand prints and splodges and scribbles, yes Wink
You should get a voucher in the order box too for a discount on next purchase, and now you have registered they will send you updates on sales and offer codes. Just to tempt you back...

For my DC3s first stocking (well, second as he was tiny for his first one and got the cutest stuff in that one!), we got him... some skinny pj's, crayons, bath toys, toothbrush, a lush bath bomb, a pair of baby converse, football kit (DPs input, he has never worn it outside the house!), a cowboy sippy cup, glow in the dark dummy, a jellycat monkey, choc buttons, satsuma, some little board books in a set, socks, can't remember what else but lots of stuff that has been useful already!
He has a pillowcase like his sisters so you can fit a lot in there!

Xmas stocking rule is "something you want, something you need, something to eat and something to read".
So I start with a book, chocolate coins, hair clips or character socks and crayons.
Build up from there, pencils and erasers for bigger kids, felt finger puppets for littlies. Stickers, bubble baths, toy car or polly pocket, mini teddy, face cloths, new toothbrush, hair things, make up (ov not for kids) etc. I've a great list somewhere I'll post it

I have useful things (pants, showergel) in the stockings with some small gifts (about £3-£5).(Small jewlerry ,nail varnish for DD)
A selection box to keep them busy.
But my DC are 11 and 13 so their main presents are the very small pile of ££ type now.

We also do the Christmas Eve Hamper to prolong the whole thing Grin
CEH has pyjamas, slippers, annual, jar of chewy/jelly sweets, Lush bathbomb for the Christmas Eve bath.
