When do you put all the presses under the tree? DP wants to put them under now but I want to wait til tomorrow night to stop anyone guessing! We said we would put it to the mn jury....

Nothing going under until tomorrow night. DS is 3 and would have them open in seconds otherwise!

MrsCampbellBlack · 23/12/2012 20:27

Some presents are under the tree which will be exchanged before christmas. The children's presents don't go under until they're asleep on christmas eve as the Father Christmas postal service delivers them.

dishwashervodkaanddietirnbru · 23/12/2012 20:29

we have none under the tree yet as Santa will bring them when the kids are asleep tomorrow night. We havent exchanged presents with other people/family yet or we would have put them under the tree already.

dishwashervodkaanddietirnbru · 23/12/2012 20:30

p.s. I mean presents from family would go under the tree as santa doesnt bring those ones

Pozzled · 23/12/2012 20:32

Ours are going under the tree as soon as they're wrapped. It helps me feel Christmassy when there's a whole heap of presents. I will be keeping a very close eye on my toddler though!

pegster · 23/12/2012 20:36

Mine are already under there. DS (15 months) hasn't really cottoned on to the idea that there might be something interesting in the wrapped boxes Wink

Jacaqueen · 23/12/2012 20:38

We put the presents under the tree last night. In this house Father Christmas only brings the stocking presents along with the main present. All others come from DH and I. We saw my sister today so her presents are now under the tree also. We always do it this way as I think it adds to the excitement. My two would never dare unwrap anything. They are allowed to look and feel but I am a master at disguising presents.

SanityClause · 23/12/2012 20:38

The DC have put some of the ones they're giving, but usually we put them all out on Christmas eve.

Chubfuddler · 23/12/2012 20:40

Xmas eve after the Dcs are asleep

PoppyWearer · 23/12/2012 20:41

Presents for everyone else (not DCs) went under tree two days ago.

Children's presents will go out tomorrow after bedtime.

Happiestinwellybobs · 23/12/2012 20:42

Presents from friends and family for DD (19mo) and the dog are under the tree, and my secret santa! I haven't put DH's under as he is nosy and would rummage under there! Santa will bring the rest tomorrow night :)

PinkFairyTaleOfNewYork · 23/12/2012 20:44

I put everyone except DS's under as soon as I get them/wrap them/put tree up but DS's get put out on Christmas Eve when he is in bed but get left on the sofa not under the tree.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 23/12/2012 20:44

Ours go under as I wrap them! Having a squeeze and trying to guess is part of the fun Xmas Grin

PurpleTinsel · 23/12/2012 20:47

Our presents go under the tree as soon as they are wrapped or received, except for the Santa ones.

PeppermintonCandyCane · 23/12/2012 20:49

Presents for adults, and from others, are under the tree. The DCs presents from us will go under tomorrow evening, so they have a chance to size them up before bed, but no chance to have a sneaky peek.

Oreocrumbs · 23/12/2012 20:49

I'm putting DP's, mine and other relatives under the tree tonight if I ever finish wrapping the bloody things.

DD's will be put out tomorrow when she is in bed.

We3NipplesOfVoldiesWeAre · 23/12/2012 20:50

Present that are under the tree now are for/from extended family and the dcs have put the presents they have bought.under as well. All other presents are places under the tree and in stockings at some ungodly hour tomorrow night when dcs are asleep.

Youngest Ds is ten and we have no believers here. I had the conversation with DD about putting all the presents under the tree earlier, but I couldn't do it. Santa has to deliver the presents, its the law :o

rathlin · 23/12/2012 20:50

The only wrapped presents under our tree are those given by friends and relatives. Santa's toys don't get wrapped and are placed on sofa/floor. We didn't have stockings etc growing up so although we have a stocking for DS, don't really have anything small enough to put in it....maybe a clementine or two.
Do people tend to wrap Santa presents too?

LynetteScavo · 23/12/2012 20:52

I'll put them under the tree tomorrow evening.

I used to put them under the tree when the DC were asleep, as they couldn't have helped themselves, and would have just unwrapped them, but now they are older, I think they can stop themselves!

OddBoots · 23/12/2012 20:52

Not until we get home from church on Christmas day, there has been a huge rise in break ins around here, the police think a gang is targeting the town so I am taking no chances even though our security is already pretty good.

LynetteScavo · 23/12/2012 20:53

The burglary thing does bother me, as every year a horrible case is reported on local news.

BluelightsAndSirens · 23/12/2012 20:55

Evrything apart from chocolate//sweets gets wrapped here.

The DC bought gifts for each other and they are under the tree but everything else goes under tomorrow night when the DC are in bed.

AChickenCalledKorma · 23/12/2012 20:58

As soon as the tree is up (yesterday) and from then on, as soon as they come through the door. It's lovely watching the pile build up when the postman comes. Have always done it that way and have never had any incidents with premature opening, even when DDs were tiny. (Lots of poking, prodding, rearranging, guessing and shaking, but no actual opening!)

Bunbaker · 23/12/2012 21:03

Nothing goes under the tree until after the curtains have been drawn on Christmas Eve. You can see into our living room from the front window - hello burglars come and help yourselves.

We have had a few break ins round here recently and I am not prepared to take any risks.

Myliferocks · 23/12/2012 21:06

The presents from us and the family go under the tree on Christmas eve after the children have gone to bed. The presents for their sacks from Father Christmas and their stocking fillers from Father Christmas are done after the children are asleep.
