stickygingerbread · 21/12/2012 23:44

amazon

wonderstuff · 21/12/2012 23:48

Most of our shopping has been via Amazon this year and service is fab - had forgotten about the tax though.. that is gutting, imagine how much money has gone from high st to Amazon and how much that has cost the UK!

I have got some lovely stuff from dotcomgiftshop and book people are such fantastic value.

cornycarrotshack · 21/12/2012 23:55

amazon
although I'm waiting for a return at the moment...

cazza2878 · 22/12/2012 02:20

Amazon have been amazing. Only downside was I ordered through amazon from the book depository and they've sent me a completely wrong item and not replying to my emails, angry as I paid 12 pounds something and I have a Crap and totally unsuitable cheapy book to show for it. Not amazons fault though.

Agree john Lewis also fab and the book people. Boden also always reliable and quick.

insanityscratching · 22/12/2012 06:00

Amazon here too, faultless service. Also worth a mention The Book People and M&S for me.

Worley · 22/12/2012 06:24

amazon and iwantoneofthose.com.. used my tesco vouchers there :)
tesco direct lost my order, sent to wrong tescos. but refunded and replaced so was happy then :)

Cantdothisagain · 22/12/2012 07:23

Amazon, the book people and John Lewis.
The worst for me was the Disney Store. Awful.

gazzalw · 22/12/2012 07:25

Yes, with Amazon who needs other retailers really?

Obviously not Red Direct after all the complaints though ;-(

BrusselSproutsFartyPants · 22/12/2012 09:58

I buy quite a lot of Christmas presents from Amazon and have never had an issue with them.

I also bought a charm bracelet from The Charm People that arrived 2 days later and looks lovely.

Next and Asda both do free pick up from store which has been great.

Vertbaudet have been brilliant. I ordered the DD's dressing gowns and received a free toy train that is going to baby DNephew. Plus I ordered them a new outfit for Christmas Day but forgot to use a discount code. I emailed and they have added it later which I thought was very kind of them.

SheldonsSantaSack · 22/12/2012 10:07

Amazon all the way ,I know they are tax dodging Christmas grinches, but you can't fault their service...I like starbucks coffees as well Xmas Blush

Pancakeflipper · 22/12/2012 10:09

Debenhams have been good. Bought some clothes for my BIL's and some bedding and all arrived very promptly.

Also must give a thumbs up to John Lewis. Bought some bedding in store. Got home, it had a slash down the duvet cover. Back to shop, no other set available. So they ordered it for me and arranged and paid for it to be delivered to my home ( cos I didn't want to go back into town again before Christmas). And it arrived the next day.

nannyl · 22/12/2012 12:07

amazon and ocada

Benaberry · 22/12/2012 12:28

Snapfish have been great for a couple of photo books, one delivered direct to my parents, one to us, very quick, nice quality and a great price with the 35% off and free delivery offer they did

John Lewis and Jessops click and collect have been great too, much less stressful!

popcornpaws · 22/12/2012 12:46

Oh yes, UPS are fantastic! House Of Fraser are superb too.

KevinFoley · 22/12/2012 14:04

Amazon, Jigsaw, White Company, Cox and Cox all good and great packaging with no damage. Not too impressed with John Lewis packaging. Had poor customer service from Cath Kidston when a delivery didn't turn up.

Bertrude · 22/12/2012 14:14

I'm gonna vote for John Lewis as they're always wonderful. Not necessarily the cheapest but they do price match. They also have a dedicated phone helpline (with English people on the end of it) just for overseas online orders so they're open all the time.

The other ones i need to mention are Mulberry and UPS. Husband went to mulberry shop to buy something for me on Thursday lunchtime and the only one in stock was slightly damaged. There were no more in stock in the rit colour anywhere in the UAE. He got back to the office, ordered it online and they said 5 working days. It arrived today via UPS, 44 hours after ordering it. The UPS tracking service showed it did originate from the UK. I think that's incredible, as I doubt I'd have received it that quickly had it been deliver to Manchester.

TheFollyfootandtheivy · 22/12/2012 14:16

Amazon and Cocoa Loco. Ordered from Cocoa Loco late on a Sunday night and the goodies were with me first thing on Tuesday morning - beautifully packed and with handwritten gift tags.

MooseyMoo · 22/12/2012 14:35

Amazon, Molton Brown and The Book People

RosemaryandThyme · 22/12/2012 14:45

Ebay

Poor and struggling to pull christmas together for three children this year we've cobbled together a decent pile for each, every seller delivered very quickly, many items being far far better than the timid descriptions given, and even a few popping in extra little freebies - big hugs to the lady who knits playfood, my three year old will be delighted.
We've also collected a table and six chairs for 99p - so for once we will all be able to eat together.

moajab · 22/12/2012 15:00

Amazon and Play.com have been great for me.

Also Tickseed for stocking fillers and Snapfish for photogifts.

vix206 · 22/12/2012 15:23

Amazon and Tesco Direct Click & Collect

Procrastinating · 22/12/2012 15:26

Amazon. Every time I order I know goods will arrive quickly and in perfect condition.
