I have that nagging feeling, although my husband and I can't think of anything! So, here's the menu. What have I forgotten:

Turkey
Gravy
Sausage Stuffing
Sage and onion stuffing
Roast potatoes
Sprouts
Sausages
Bacon
Cranberry sauce
Bread sauce
Christmas pudding
Brandy butter

Anyone?

Agree you need more veg. Carrot batons, peas and red cabbage here.

And have you got whatever you use to make gravy?

And gin to drink while you're stuck in the kitchen...

TeeElfOnTeeShelf · 15/12/2012 15:26

Y'all can suggest veg al you want. I'm not adding another one!

I was thinking I was forgetting something I normally have, but apparently not.

Four veg! No wonder there's an obesity problem in the world. Who needs that much food?!?!

We would have roast pots, roast parsnips, broccoli, braised red cabbage, carrots with honey and sprouts

bigkidsdidit · 15/12/2012 15:28

Lol at more veg making you obese when you have piles of meat Grin

If you don't want extra veg I think your meal is done. Lovely

baahhumbug · 15/12/2012 16:26

Sounds good.

We have roast chicken (don't like turkey), stuffing, bread sauce, cranberry sauce, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots, sprouts, gravy, mashed swede, then Christmas pudding with custard.

Your supposed to have 5 fruit and veg a day anyway.

On Xmas day you need more veg to balance the choc, booze, food etc. (well we do anyway)

QuickLookBusy · 15/12/2012 16:32

You're

colleysmill · 15/12/2012 16:41

Well I'd do more veg for us, red cabbage, carrots and fine beans.

I also like cauliflower cheese with Christmas dinner. Yum

Allalonenow · 15/12/2012 16:43

Glad you have got the most important thing ~ wine, and it is one of your five a day, as is chocolate.

SantasLittleElfycat · 15/12/2012 17:05

We have at least 7 veg (not including potatoes or parsnips), you can have smaller portions and I do like bubble and squeak boxing day.

Have my parents and PIL this year. MIL thinks I'm overdoing the veg but when they and SIL and family came last year they ate me out of veggies so I had to cook more first thing on boxing day.

OodKingWenceslas · 15/12/2012 17:11

We had 15 veg last year, only small portions of each and I I was the only one that ate all but I don't eat the meat.

ChristmasSpiritEndorphins · 15/12/2012 17:20

You are missing a vegetable from the orange/yellow family. Maybe throw a few carrots in with the spuds?
But if you truly hate vegetables other than sprouts, no point in choosing your Christmas dinner to eat something you don't enjoy.

amck5700 · 15/12/2012 17:30

We have roast and mashed potatoes, roast parsnips and carrots, normal carrots, sprouts and cauliflower cheese. Boys have peas and sweetcorn because that's the only veg they will eat except the stuff I hide in the rest of their food

We generally only have one stuffing but will have yorkshire puds too.

SweetMingePie · 15/12/2012 17:32

Leave the poor lass alone! If she just wants sprouts, she just wants sprouts. Sounds perfect to me!

Narked · 15/12/2012 17:35

Broccoli and cauliflower cheese, carrot and swede, sprouts and parsnips here. Mmmmmmmmmm.

ChristmasPickles · 15/12/2012 18:10

Vegetables make you obese do they?

milk · 15/12/2012 18:35

Christmas chocolate log Grin

baahhumbug · 15/12/2012 19:00

Five a day is a total myth! It's Christmas Day, if you only want sprouts, that's fine :-)

KoalaKube · 15/12/2012 19:16

Agree you need a different coloured veg like carrots otherwise the plate will
look really brown, personally I can't do a roast without carrots and nice bright green peas.

Don't forget the foil !

PrincessMononoke · 15/12/2012 19:32

Chestnuts for the sprouts ?

Re carrots. I do those little chantenay carrots roasted in the oven. Smile

Clandy · 15/12/2012 20:26

Apple sauce? That's a must have with a christmas dinner.... And it fulfills your quota of no more veg Wink
