Oh good, because it is also hard to second guess what you think someone will have, or what their kids like!

Right I shall get googling!

ratbagcatbag · 27/11/2012 21:28

Argh. I think I said voucher for wherever, so do we just get the mumsnetter a voucher, or dd and mum something? Argh help I'm so worried someone will get a voucher and be "yeah, fab, thanks for that" Confused

LateDeveloper · 27/11/2012 21:34

Hi SandyMumsnet

I have no brain and have also forgotten what I offered to buy. Could I have a pm too please?

oreocrumbs · 27/11/2012 21:39

I've got mine, 3 boys! And something for Mum, shall I put something for a dad? What do you all think? Or should I not put something in for mum?

Hmm don't know what to do! Can someone tell me what they are doing so I can decide yes I'm a sheep.

BellaVita · 27/11/2012 21:50

Mine says mum and child.

I offered to donate a voucher.

I will donate a voucher, a little bit of something for mum and a pressie for the child.

KnottyLocks · 27/11/2012 21:54

Got mine too, thanking you kindly Smile

@christmaspuddingpippin

Sorry silly question but this is the first time I have done this and want to make sure I get it right.In my email under special requirements it says Ds 1, does this mean 1 ds or that they have a ds who is 1

I would read it as a DS who is 1. But completely get your confusion!

SandyMumsnet · 28/11/2012 10:20

@FIFIBEBE

Is there any chance the original request message could be posted just to remind us (me) of the criteria. Have received my email and want to get it right. TIA

Hi FiFI, Will PM you.

@cocoachannel

Hi Sandy. Should we put Mumsnet Towers as the senders' address in case of losses. My address doesn't seem quite right so will google the postcode but want to add a sender address just in case!

Hi Coco, sounds good to me!

SandyMumsnet · 28/11/2012 10:24

@thegreylady

Hi greylady,

Sounds lovely and very generous, thank you!

SandyMumsnet · 28/11/2012 10:56

ratbagcatbag · 28/11/2012 11:01

Thank you sandy :)

SandyMumsnet · 28/11/2012 11:06

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the gin, I really am a bit squiffy now!

Enjoy sorting out your donations. You are all so lovely and generous, it warms the cockles of my heart.

If any of you have any further queries please do PM me.

Merry Christmas!

ratbagcatbag · 28/11/2012 11:20

Ok you lot advise please? :) I've google what shops are nearby my mumsnetter, so figure that the love to shop voucher would be ideal as there are at least six of the shops that the voucher can be used at in one centre? Was also thinking for the dd then a new look voucher too would be nice? Do you think that's ok for 12 yo? I did consider Hmv but can't see there is one nearby.

Can you tell this is my first time Grin

TeaMakesItToTheTop · 28/11/2012 12:16

I'm going to slip in something for my Mumsnetter - I've got a book for her/him to start .... what other things are people thinking of putting in?

I'm stuck! I don't want to offend! Help! It's really hard to know what to get someone when you know about absolutely nothing about them.

PS new look vouchers sound brilliant for a 12YO girl. My 12 YO boy wants apple vouchers.

NotQuintAtAllOhNo · 28/11/2012 12:20

SandyMumsnet Whoop Whoop Gangnam style! Grin

I was planning on gifts for each of the DC and a big box of chocolates for mum/dad/gran/ anyone else in the family.

It is sooo hard choosing for adults when you don't know anything about them!

ConfusedPixie · 28/11/2012 14:53

little moon: my 2yo charge loves the two Chris Haughton books, if that helps?

I have a toddler and a reception aged child to buy for, looking forward to it :) I would like to make home made sweets for the MNetter, however I am not sure how it would manage in the post. Sweets would be fine in first class or special delivery right?

I am also not sure how a Donaldson book and matching soft toy would go down with a 5yo? I know my 4yo charge woud love it, as would my Donaldson obsessed 8yo charge, but would a 5yo? This is actually much harder than I thought it'd be!

thegreylady · 28/11/2012 17:50

Might play safe with vouchers for teenage girl but I did fancy getting a snuggly onesie for her :)

thegreylady · 28/11/2012 17:53

I am putting in toiletries some flapjacks and some Christmas napkins for mnetter and a selection of appropriate gifts for her to wrap and label for dc.I will include paper,stickers etc.
I thought she should have the fun of doing Santa :)

littlemoon14 · 28/11/2012 18:52

would it be okay to get it sent directly to the persons house from the shop?

OP posts:
BellaVita · 28/11/2012 22:13

Of course it would be littlemoon, I did this one year.

Binfullofgibletsonthe26th · 29/11/2012 08:54

That's what I'm doing Littlemoon.

The only issue is that I have to put my address as the billing address, so I am hoping they won't put that information in the envelope with a voucher, as it would spoil the Secret Santa.
