acsec · 09/11/2012 22:17

Hey - I have a 25% off ELC code if anyone wants it, pm me :)

izzywizzyisbizzy · 09/11/2012 22:40

Ive used my gap discount code, thanks, it was great, some of the items I bought were on buy more than one and they dropped from £8 to £6, then it took the 30% off again, I had 8 long sleeved tops for £54 delivered, and then on top of that I have 10% cashback from quidco. I love the gap t shirts because they wash and wash and wash.

My body shop shower gels have arrived, I ordered 2 lots of 3, they appear to have only charged for 1 lot, the 2nd lot 1 was out of stock and I just checked card and only one payment has gone through.

I have my calendar, and by Book Shop animals book, it is truly beautiful :).

DH is off to Smyths to get me the calendar as its not online, but they have them in store, I have been waiting for a boy one to come up cheap for ages!

I have my toot toot cars, my 3 for 2s from tescos (took loads back they refunded the full price!! so that was a real bargain for the things I kept).

Have my bench boxers, and also some Calvin Klein ones from Hong Kong which look the real deal.

Loads of charity shop bargains as well and also loads of second hand stuff from netmums.

The DCs have a huge pile and I have spent pennies (except on books, they are cheap from book people but when you buy 50 ......................)

cece · 09/11/2012 22:49

Tesco have a bargain balance bike. Just ordered one for DS2

AudrinaAdare · 09/11/2012 22:53

Another 25% of all toys once-only ELC code if anyone wants one.

mummymccar · 09/11/2012 23:04

Reastie - Hermes are rubbish. My Thorntons order arrived the other day open on one side with some of my order missing. Reported it to Thorntons who very kindly sent out the missing item and have filed a complaint with Hermes.

BeaWheesht · 09/11/2012 23:07

On Argos if I order 6 x 2 for £15 toys which are all individually £9.99 then do I get £20 off £45 or £20 off £60?????

izzywizzyisbizzy · 09/11/2012 23:10

I used to Ebay a lot, I wouldnt wish Hermes on my worst enemy, I only used them once, never ever again.

goingbacktowork · 09/11/2012 23:12

Guess Who Extra - electronic version at amazon - right now £9.72 down from £20.

Guess who - Non electronic version £7.92

kerplunk £8.62

be quick though

coocoocachoo · 09/11/2012 23:34

Oh lordy, haven't even begun....where to start???

Back to the top of the thread methinks.

jumblequeen · 10/11/2012 07:23

I've PM'd a couple of you re: the ELC code... fingers crossed!

gregssausageroll · 10/11/2012 07:24

I have to say we have a fab Hermes driver. He knows where I live and work and will drop depending on where I am to get a signature. He has a good reputation where we live for doing this. He does go above and beyond.

reastie · 10/11/2012 07:31

Re: balance bikes mentioned upthread - are they good/worth it? I'd never heard of them before, looking at them I'm a bit Hmm about how useful/well liked by DC they are- surely you could have a trike of bike with stabilisers

Seems a bit hit and miss with hermes then, I'm sure I've had things from them before no problems though.

OP posts:
DorisIsWaiting · 10/11/2012 07:54

Reastie it depends on the age of your dc. DD1 and 2 didn't have one just had trike then bike with stabilisers. DD3 had one for her 2nd birthday both other dd's have played (lots) on it. and when we go on bioke rides dd3 is faster than dd2 on her bike with stablisers. For christmas dd3 is getting a bike without stablisers (she's 3). IMHO they are much less cumbersome than trikes and so more maoeverable (sp!) dd3 has a PUKY and it's been FAB!

RollingThunder · 10/11/2012 07:57

has anyone else heard of www.toyshopuk.co.uk

They promote independant retailers - (and Amazon) but have some exclusive discount codes floating around - I saw this one: toyshopuk - for www.tinytotshop.co.uk - which is baby gifts 5% discount

www.crafts4kids.co.uk - has an exclusive 10% discount through them, though wasn't clear how you claimed it: www.toyshopuk.co.uk/shops/nottinghamshire/nottingham/crafts4kids.php

RollingThunder · 10/11/2012 07:58

(also i have an extra 25% ELC code as well, if anyone wants it?) - just pm me.

PoppyWearer · 10/11/2012 08:24

I daren't read the rest of the thread to see if someone has already mentioned this. Theoretically my shopping for the DCs is all done, and if I read this thread I'll only go and buy more! Grin

Anyway, I popped on here to say that Amazon have the Toot Toot Drivers Garage (V-Tech) down to £24 at the moment, with free 3-5 day delivery. It's well north of £30 everywhere else, and they're going for high prices on eBay too.

I had bought DS a lovely but uber cheap wooden one in the sales earlier in the year, to give him this year as main pressie, but someone gave him a load of Toot Toot cars for his first birthday and he plays with them non-stop....so getting the matching garage makes sense.

Wiggy29 · 10/11/2012 08:44

I can't work out how to private message people but would love an ELC code if anybody has one as getting ds the tumble down castle (£80) so would make a considerable difference.

Balance bike looks fab but sadly don't have anybody the right age for it.

izzywizzyisbizzy · 10/11/2012 08:52

with the balance bikes we have had Wee Rides, we bought a cheaper one from tescos for DD, but ended up replacing that with a weeride as well, as i just wasnnt the same quality.

they are fantastic though and DS did go straight from a weeride to a bike without stabilisers, he loved it and could go miles on it, DD is more timid

MooseyMoo · 10/11/2012 08:53

poppy I was just coming o to say the same thing re Toot Toot Garage. Have been waiting bloody ages patiently for it to be reduced. Woo.

Toot Toot Garage Amazon £24 with free delivery

pinknanny · 10/11/2012 08:53

Reastie re balance bikes. I would recommend 100%.
I was sceptical over them until I seen how quickly little boy I nanny for could use his.
He got for 2nd birthday and managed it quickly., could go fast, have his feet up for long periods, generally had good control over it etc within a few months.
He then got proper bike 6 months later and could go it straight away, no hassle with balance, steering control etc. only thing he found a little tricky was doing proper peddling.
He could fully ride bike before he was 3!

hope that helps!

jumblequeen · 10/11/2012 09:01

RollingThunder - PM'd you, yes please!
