P*ssed off with Tesco's and their voucher exchange 'skylanders'

So Tesco are doing there voucher exchange, i have been waiting in hope that 'skylanders' is on the list. Got up early to have a look and 'yay, skylanders is on the list', i then go to find the skylander starter pack for the wii, i find it for the ds (on voucher exchange) and the x-box 360 (on the exchange) but the starter pack for the wii is not Angry. Surely if 'skylanders' is on the list for items on the exchange this should include all skylanders? and why is the ds starter pack and the 360 on the voucher exchange but not the Wii?

I have e-mailed them but so far no reply Sad

Have been saving my vouchers up to buy this as dd1 has asked for it and a wii for christmas (wii will be 2nd hand but its still going to cost me a fortune for this and the skylanders), i'm not a happy bunny Sad.

Could you get a second hand wii? I'm looking into this as the wii DD plays on is actually mine. If ever I want to do anything on it (like wii fit which I could do with more of Grin ) I can guarantee you DD will be on Skylanders. It would be quite nice it she started Giants on one of her own!
Any good wii deals, let me know (though having just paid £50 odd for the game I'm thinking this is rather a lot to get).

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 01/11/2012 22:03

Doesn't help you with the Tesco thing I know, but Computer Exchange (CEX) see the Wii Starter pack for £35 (secondhand) You can buy it online, or see if a local branch has any in stock?

Wii Skylander Starter pack

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 01/11/2012 22:04

see? that should be has. Stupid fingers.

makemineapinot · 01/11/2012 23:06

see if you can get a discount code for Very - I bought the giants starter pack on a £30 off a £60 spend and got that and a faashiony thing dd wanted for £30 odd. Will give you code but don't think it will work as I used it on the day it expired...! 2CC35. Can someone tell me if I need ot buy extra figures?!! Thought that was the skylanders side of things done :-(

FreddoBaggyMac · 02/11/2012 06:42

I've exchanged my points for vouchers which I was planning to spend on toys for Christmas but noticed that almost all the toys I was planning on buying are suddenly quite miraculously out of stock Sad

They were in stock the day before yesterday before the voucher exchange began... seems a bit odd to me.

Worley · 02/11/2012 07:07

I got all excited about this and then noticed the only one unavailable was what I needed ie for the wii :(
never done the exchange before.. can you just spend the vouchers in the shop on selected items once you have vouchers or does it have to be online ?

Worley · 02/11/2012 07:10

I did have an issue last week with their direct shopping.. I placed an order had an email to say they had been dispatched another to say my parcel was ready for collection. when I got there they'd sent the parcel to the wrong tescos.. I had to reorder it all again as the particular parcel was "lost" and then one of the toys was no longer available.. one big cock up.
so not enthused with tesco as it is.. so this skylanders things is now reminding me I've swapped to tescos !!

Worley · 02/11/2012 07:10

I meant swapped to asda not tescos.

IamMummyhearmeROAR · 02/11/2012 08:09

I tried for several hours yesterday to exchange my vouchers with no joy- peed off-when I do get on everything will be gone.

Marne · 02/11/2012 09:02

Have just got a 2nd hand wii for £40 (so am happy with that). Its the giant starter pack i am after (i think CEX only have the spyro's?.

Still no answer to my e-mail and i cant ring them as dd1 will hear me (she still believes in fc).

Have also heard on other forums about items being out of stock Sad.

I have a voucher for Very so i might use that to get the starter pack and forget Tesco. I wish i could stop using them but its the only supermarket we have near by Sad.

Ok, tomorrow i'm going in and coming home with a Giants starter pack (i will win) Grin. I'm not happy that customer services have not replied to my e-mails. I may have to cry and scream but i'm not leaving without it Smile.

Point out to them that the Wii starter pack was included in the exchange last year (obviously it was the Spyro's Adventure, the first game). I know that for certain because it was the only way my DC were going to get it for xmas, so I snapped one up.

musicposy · 03/11/2012 22:40

Go, Marne! Yes they included it last year because that's how I got both mine (one for each DD). Of course, now they know how popular they are, they've left it out. It's a dirty trick and typical of Tescos.

Where did you get the £40 wii from? Cex?

makemineapinot you don't actually need to buy any more, no. The game is perfectly playable with just the starter pack. If it's like the last game having a character from each element means you can complete the whole thing. However, we just bought the DDs the starter packs last year and DD2 (who has been particularly obsessed with it) has spent the rest of the year saving for the rest of the characters. She may as well spend her money on that as anything and it's held her attention for the year. If they have any sort of pocket money/ allowance/ Christmas money I wouldn't spend extra yourself; let them do that after Christmas. It keeps the game fresh for longer. But be prepared to spend your whole year hours trawling toy shops and the internet if they sell as well as last year. Grin

crappypatty · 03/11/2012 22:44

That does sound unfair, I can understand why you are upset. It does seem strange that you can use them for Skylanders on other consoles but not wii or ps3.

Good Luck, hope they see sense.

confuugled · 03/11/2012 23:11

Last week on the play.com mad monday deals they had some of the skylander characters down to £3.50 or £3.99 (sorry can't remember which).

If last year is anything to go by, the same things come and go out of the monday deals - so while they might not be in there this week, they might be in there next week.

Worth signing up for the play bargain deals and deal of the day emails though if you are looking for these as I haven't seen anywhere else sell them for £4 or less. And they look a lot better value for £3.50 than their normal price!

Marne · 04/11/2012 09:32

My £40 wii fell through Sad but then i found one on gum tree for £30 so i'm happy Smile ,cant go to the big tesco today as the roads are flooded (joys of living in the midle of nowhere) but i will be going first thing in the morning after the kids have gone to school. Several people on MSE have managed to get them by complaining to customer services (instore) so will give it a go. Have managed to get a pack of 3 giants using some vouchers and have got some great bargain on Play so now all i need is that starter pack Grin.

PersuedByPenguins · 04/11/2012 09:45

Ohhh maybe I should try to get into store too?! The other thing I wanted from Tesco is out of stock so I might have saved my points up all year for nothing! Sad

Marne · 04/11/2012 10:07

Its worth a try, i saved my vouchers to buy this and theres nothing else i really want to buy with them (as dd's dont want any of the toys that are online), so i hope i can get it tomorrow.

Good luck xx

DoubleMum · 04/11/2012 10:22

I'm going to try instore too. The list clearly states Skylanders, it's pretty obvious they want to get your attention that way and it's a nasty trick to then say oh I meant figures only. I've never doubled up vouchers before though...presumably once I've exchanged them I can't change them back again so I'll be a bit stuck if they say no? In the good old days I preferred to get more than double value for my points but they're so scarce these days I'm not going to be getting a holiday out of them anymore...

Indith · 04/11/2012 10:26

I got pissed off with Tesco Last year. I doubled up for toys and set out to do stockings for the dcs. When I got to the check out some stuff I had picked up from the "toys" aisle with the great big double up signs was not included. Then I had some bath toys, both from the same range picked out of the same box. Only one of them was included Hmm. I kicked up a bit of a fuss at the checkout and eventually managed to get them to take the full voucher off nmy shop.

pigleychez · 04/11/2012 12:48

Im miffed with Tesco today too! Just been to collect my stuff ordered with the vouchers.

Shop was heaving and the carpark was gridlock which is always fun!
Only one part of my order was in. DD's Lego hadn't come in yet. Despite my order saying collect from 4pm Sat 3rd.
Annoyingly they had about 3 of the boxes on the shelf so asked if I could just one of them instead.
I could but id have to pay full price and would only get half the exchange voucher back.

So it looks like I have to wait for it to come in and take yet another trip!
Not impressed today! Angry

Marne · 04/11/2012 14:14

Thats not on Pigley Sad. I exchanged some vouchers online last night after finding £60's worth of items i wanted, it took 3 hours for my exchange codes to come through and in this time one of my items went out of stock (a small lego set) taking my total down to £56 so then it wouldn't let me use all of my vouchers as i was under the £60, this anoyed me because you can be under instore and they will refund you the difference back in clubcard points (so why cant they do this online), so i then had to find someting to push my total over £60. I then got to the checkout and it tells me 'that books can not be delivered to store' so i had to pay for the books to be delivered and then pick my other items up instore Angry.

Last year i had no problems, bought several big lego sets and picked them up instore.

Rosvita · 04/11/2012 14:56

Yes they've annoyed me too.in the time I decided what ii wanted and waited for the codes to come through 3 things I wanted went out of stock, something else increased by £13.and 1 of the things I've ordered has since gone down by £5 so could have used that towards something else.also 1 of the items I wanted now says out of stock but when you click on it it says available?! May exchange part of my order if items I wanted are in stock tomorrow when I pick order up in store.

Rosvita · 04/11/2012 15:00

Forgot to say last year I doubled up and got dance star mickey- when it came it was faulty but couldn't exchange it as by that point was out of stock so had to return it.

Marne · 05/11/2012 13:03

Tesco 1, Marne 0 Sad

So i go in and exchange my vouchers, i pick up the wii starter pack and one figure (to take me over my £60 i have in vouchers), i take it to the electical desk and i'm told its not in the exchange, i start to complain (with the leaflet in my hand stating 'skylander' are in the deal), they send me to customer services where i'm again told 'its not in the deal' i then ask to speak to management, i agrue that 'the leaflet is miss leading' and explain ' that i changed my vouchers as it states skylanders are in the deal', she says 'its not in the deal as it contains softwear' i explaint that 'other starter packs are in the deal' she says 'not instore they are not', i asked her 'where on the leaflet does it state that 'not all skylanders are in the deal?' she doesn't answer my question, just says 'its not in the deal' i get a bit angry, slam down the starter pack and the skylander figure on the desk and walk out Sad.

I now have £60's worth of vouchers and nothing to use them on. I come home and look online and the wii starter pack has been removed from their web site but still the x-box 360 starter pack is on the offer as is several of the booster packs all of which contain softwear (disks/games).

I dont know if i should phone Tesco direct, i dont know if it will get me anywhere?

Not liking Tesco at all, their leaflet is missleading, they tell you to exchange your vouchers before you pick up you items, if someone has not got the internet then how do they know what is in and what isn't?
