Right - tins of sweets...

In the interests of saving everyone else some time and money, I have already sampled the big three this year Blush. And they are ALL CRAP.

Celebrations - sickly. The twixes don't taste like twixes. And nobody could possibly need that many mini bounties.

Quality Street - chalky and artificial. Only ever snarf these at someone else's house as I avoid buying Nestlé but I don't think I'm missing out on much.

Roses - the fruit centres are meh. And they've taken out all the hard toffees! Why, why, why?!

Christmas is ruined. Ruined!

In the Interests of this thread I just bought Thornton's moments, and can confirm they are delicious and a definite possibility

Just been to M&S and they have 800g boxes of sweets down from £5 to £4.

Tin of heroes for £4 in asda, think I might need to get another for quality testing. In a few weeks they'll be £10 so I'm still saving money by buying 2!

Your intrepid reporter signing in here with an update. I have now sampled the M&S Big Selection.

Verdict: very good toffees, but the fudge was so sweet my teeth started rotting just looking at them. And there were too many coffee cremes! The chocolate was also too sweet.

So, the search continues.

(It was a party, by the way, I'm not just eating sweets, honest )
