I love the gruffalo's child for xmas. Or the stickman.

Ds is 7 and disgusting. This year he is getting you're a bad man mr gum for his jack frost book.

nickeldaisical · 20/10/2012 16:19

I've just accidentally ordered 5 copies of the christmas post jolly man. Wink

I do free postage...

nickeldaisical · 20/10/2012 16:19

what's the Jack Frost book? christmas eve?

WineGless · 20/10/2012 16:20

Thanks for the facecloth link, have also ordered a masterchef apron for BIL and golf towel for DH.

Those who are looking for presents for men take a look

WineGless · 20/10/2012 16:21

Nickeldaisacal, this year I'm doing 24 books wrapped up all which have an Xmas theme. Could you do something similar in the shop? Advent calendar style?

LaTrucha · 20/10/2012 16:25

I thought the 12 Days of Christmas Book that was on offer at Book People was lovely - and funny for parents too.

BlameItOnTheCuervForHumanBlood · 20/10/2012 16:26

Yes, jack frost is the chief elf. Every frost is him doing a recce of all the children, then reporting back FC. On xmas eve we take the dog for a walk at about 4pm, while we are out the neighbours jack frost visits and leaves a book, pair of pj's, reindeer food and bath stuff, along with a hand written letter informing ds that FC is on his way, so best get bathed and to bed.

Throughout winter ds is positively angelic, and he runs to bed after getting that note Wink

Last year I had to endure the nutcracker story over, and over, and over, and over...

LaTrucha · 20/10/2012 16:28

The Usborne farm tales lift the flap Christmas book went down very well with my preschoolers last year.

MooseyMoo · 20/10/2012 16:31

I've got a couple of friends who are due in Dec. I've found this lovely Buriti Baby Mini Essentials set from body shop reduced to £6. I went through Quidco but my free postage code did not work. Am going to contact Body Shop to see if I can get refund.

AllOverIt · 20/10/2012 16:34

Marking place Grin

BlatherskiteOfTheLivingDead · 20/10/2012 16:42

Ooh, I'm liking the sound of the Reindeer's Christmas party one. This is the problem with doing a Christmas book every year, I'm running out of good ones already!

Our Christmas eve hamper will have a new set of PJ's, a pair of slipper socks, a Christmas DVD (thinking Arthur Christmas this year) a Christmas themed book each and a Christmas bath bomb from Lush.

Waitingforastartofall · 20/10/2012 16:42

The works have a range of Christmas hardbacks 99p I've got the night before Christmas for their Christmas eve box ( from me and dp can't manage the elf story)

nickeldaisical · 20/10/2012 16:43

ooh, I like that idea WineGlass

BlameIt - I had two copies of the Nutcracker last year, one had a sound board down the side. no one bought either copy. Managed to get rid of the sound board one at half price in the summer.
The other one seems to have disappeared. Confused
I don't get it, it was a lovely book.

3in2years · 20/10/2012 16:44

I just did a shop at laredoute for big ds, I got some sale items and used the £30 off code.

So I got converse, a hoody and a pack of boxers for £34 inc delivery!

BlameItOnTheCuervForHumanBlood · 20/10/2012 16:52

Ds's copy of the nutcracker was from poundland, he loved it, and we had to buy a nutcracker doll. We also have to watch the ballet. From batman to ballet in one step.

Could you do a surprise book, wrapped in xmas paper "to be opened on xmas eve, with a small bag of reindear food?

rhondajean · 20/10/2012 16:52

How the blazes is everyone getting this code for la redoute to work on the converse!

Nishky · 20/10/2012 16:56
