Heads up, my friend suspects the Orla Kiely scarves/stoles, are fake. She's in PR, and has reported the website to Head Office. She's 99% sure. Gutted!

MooseyMoo · 16/10/2012 20:50

Hold on, how can they be fake? They're bought from Uniqlo who have collaborated with Orla Kiely

izzywizzyisbizzy · 16/10/2012 20:51

toys r us website appears to be dead

PrettyPirate · 16/10/2012 20:54

toys r us working for me but really slow....

BlameItOnTheCuervForHumanBlood · 16/10/2012 20:55

fifi cook and clean playset £2.99

Vickles · 16/10/2012 20:55

She'll let me know as soon as she's heard from their Counterfeit office.

TheAngelshavetheOod · 16/10/2012 21:03

I couldn't get toys r us going either

Vickles · 16/10/2012 21:07

It's most apparent if you zoom on the labels on the Orla Kiely clothes that they're also selling. The label clearly says 'O.K', whereas the genuine ones don't.

RugBugs · 16/10/2012 21:12

It's generally called a diffusion line, like DVF at gap.
I wouldn't doubt their authenticity and doing so publicly might get you in a wee bit of trouble.

annh · 16/10/2012 21:12

Vickles, what on earth is your friend talking about? The Orla Kiely scarves come from a collaboration between Orla Kiely and Uniqlo and are plastered all over the Uniqlo website! Have you actually pointed her in the direction of the website? And here is Vogue talking about it (one of a number of news stories featuring the collection) [http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/2012/08/14/orla-kiely-launches-second-uniqlo-collection]]

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 16/10/2012 21:13

Vickles they are from the Uniqlo website who collaborate with Orla Kiely, how can they be fake?!

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 16/10/2012 21:14

annh i was just going to copy and post an article from Elle - they are not fake.

annh · 16/10/2012 21:15

Hokeycokey you might want to link it anyway as I made a pig's ear of my link!

bleedingheart · 16/10/2012 21:18

The Orla Kiely items are a diffusion range so clearly won't be the same as the items she sells for £££. Uniqlo is a reputable site, it only sells its own designs and collaborations, not cheap designer goods.

QuietNinjaTardis If you go through to check out on ASOS there is a box under your summary before you enter payment details which says sobering like Promo code/NUS code with a box for you to enter MEGA10

Parrish · 16/10/2012 21:18

The Lego mine has gone back up to £70 on amazon :(

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 16/10/2012 21:20

ELLE article as requested annh Smile

bleedingheart · 16/10/2012 21:21

Sobering = something!

SminkoPinko · 16/10/2012 21:22

Littlewoods is offering £20 off your first online order over £40. Code: 2BYCC (According to the mumsnet money saver email!)

Aspiemum2 · 16/10/2012 21:24

After the m&s docking station deal... Tesco deal of the day is a docking station. Tomorrow only, don't know how much it will be yet but normal price is £19.50 so it's going to be cheap.
Can't link on my phone but just go to tesco website and click on deal of the day

Vickles · 16/10/2012 21:25

Really really hope she's wrong, as I've bought a few of them. Have forwarded those links to her. Fingers crossed. X

Vickles · 16/10/2012 21:27

I'm not the one doubting them, my friend is, and she emailed them immediately to check. I just wanted to give you the heads up. As I said, I hope she's wrong. We'll find out tomorrow.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 16/10/2012 21:29

Vickles no offence but your friend is wrong, these are not fake items, they are sold by Uniqlo, i got mine in a shop, she collaborates with them.

They are going to have the exact same label as her major line or people would be selling them for £££ on ebay for a start!!

Vickles · 16/10/2012 21:29

Off to bed now, will report back when they come back to her.
