This sounds nasty and smug but its not intended that way but i love to sit back and relax with kids when everyone else is running around or out in the bad weather! Urrrr guess that is nasty Blush

Make sure you write it all down somewhere. So far we have spent under a tenner on a DVD (to go in the Xmas eve hamper) and 2 magic flannels which are a traditional part of the DCs' stockings. Yesterday DH was in town and came back with another (admittedly very nice) flannel. He was all proud of himself bless him, but he was actually there when we bought the original ones

I've finished most of my shopping! Grin I didn't mean to be so organised - I just saw lots of bargains of exactly what my DC want (mostly Lego!).

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 03/08/2012 11:04

Bloody hell OvO that's impressive!

I've even bought wrapping paper! I must be ill.

I've even finished my Christmas cross stitch which never ever happens in time.

I'm all excited already. Blush Grin

I started today too - got DD some puzzles, rainbow fairy box set and some glitter pens. Feeling very organised but I am hoping I wont e doing the last minute thing which I do every year.

seabuckthorn · 04/08/2012 21:38

Good work!
I have started too, just bits here and there for DP and our parents and the Christmas eve hamper. I have one of those cardboard storage boxes and a list!
Quick question: magic flannels where are you buying yours?

fivegomadindorset · 04/08/2012 21:39

Well done, I have nealry finished the buying part, have some homemade stuff to do.

Sorry Doublepost

SlinkyPebbles · 04/08/2012 22:27

What on earth is a magic flannel?

sunnyday123 · 04/08/2012 22:38

I have started too! I have bought the dds a ds for Xmas which they have been after for a year or so -i finally gave in! We are taking the kids to Lapland in dec so have pretty much been skint all year so I've had to budget for everything each month- literally not bought myself anything all year.

I plan to get most things in sept/oct but am throwing the odd stocking filler in the basket during the food shop so it not as noticeable!

I've even done a Xmas food saving card - only £90 on it but still proud of myself as I've said every year I would do one and never get round to it!

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 04/08/2012 23:30

Sunny Lapland will be amazing!!

bucketbetty · 04/08/2012 23:33

I've started making. Im making this year. Not because I'm skint but because I'm being middle aged. :)

sunnyday123 · 05/08/2012 00:31

I know I'm so excited like a kid!! But it's making me be super organised as I have tons of birthdays in oct and nov too so planning for everything now as Xmas expensive enough without a holiday! I need the adverts to start big time so the dds can give me ides :)

fuzzpig · 05/08/2012 09:20

Magic flannels are just children's flannels which come sort of vacuum packed so they are square/circle/heart shaped or whatever. You take the wrapping off and pop them in water (we do ours in the bath) and they 'expand' so you can see the design.

This year we got them in Disney store - £2 each, there's quite a range. I got Tangled for DD and Toy Story for DS. DH got a Dalek one on sale in Boots (I've got them from there in the past but can't remember price) as DD recently decided she loves Daleks (she doesn't watch modern doctor who) - we are getting her some little Dalek figures for her stocking too :)

FoofHundredMetreFreestyle · 05/08/2012 09:39

Hi. I really want to be more organised this year.
What things are you buying at the mo? Is it just presents or more practical stuff? If presents is it main ones or just stocking fillers? I usually get my personal cards at the end of August as soon as they come out but last year was a last minute epic disaster. I need setting on the road to organisation. Grin

SlinkyPebbles · 05/08/2012 11:26

Cool! I like it - practical too!

And what kind of things are the makers making?
