Do I have the record for the first Christmas thread of 2012? Grin

WSoo Hoo!! In exactly 11 weeks time, it will be Christmas Eve!! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.... Grin

At this time, in 11 weeks time, I should be pulling out some hot croissants from the oven (from the cardboard roll, I am not yet able to make my own), with DD running wild (probably out on the green already pedalling around) and with some lovely music on the iPod setting the scene!!

Either that, or I will be tearing my hair out at the chaos that is DH's house that morning and trying to get 2 minutes to get to the bathroom and brush my hair as everyone descends (yes, DH Bro, SIL and 3 kids will be in before 9am!!).

Oh dear, I'd really better get a move on in deciding where to be, and organising accomodation....

Thank goodness for this thread - I am quizzed on a daily basis and have been 'guessing' - I said about 78 days, so the little dubs will be chuffed it's actually 2 sleeps closer than I told them it was!

This morning, I have finally booked the outing to Santa. I was trying to get the Santa Train this year (we have done it every 2nd year until now) but I left it until August and they were booked out in July. (Steam train excursions).

So the alternate was something I had looked at last year, a Green Santa with no wrapped presents but potting up a plant (which kids keep), getting a seed shaker and candy canes, and Santa helping with it all. I wanted the late afternoon booking so that when we get out, the lights will be on in the dusk so the Narnia themed grounds will be truly magical!! And I got the slot I wanted -YAY!!

Wow that's early rabid!
Don't mind the shops stocking up but to do a display seems bonkers Grin

Just been to Leekes and bought some Christmas stuff... ILOVEITILOVEITILOVEIT!

I've got personalized stockings for me, DS and DP, extra extra extra wide wrapping paper from Toys R Us, I've bought almost all of DS's presents, I've got my Christmas Jumper airing from storage, I've got a list of everything I need to buy, I've bought some new Santa Hats because our old ones were rubbish and felt so I've bought proper luxury ones, I've started making small pompom decorations for the trees and I'm considering making my own Advent Calender/Card Holder to go across the radiator.

Oh, and I bought a cuddly dog called Jingle. He comes with a book and when you read certain lines he responds.

I. AM. CHRISTMAS. MONSTERRRR.
HERE. ME. ROAAAAAR.

Oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh Grin

I've got a Christmas Jumper too

It's classy (well as classy as a Festive Sweater can be) .
Black. Gold sequins and beads to form a discreet picture of a leaping reindeer.

Covers my bum Blush

Petsinmyputridpudenda · 12/10/2012 15:59

Went to town today

Got the toddler a reindeer jumper from primark, also got Christmas themed cusions and a throw for there.

They had adult penguin jumpers but dh said it was hidious and wouldn't get it, I said its supposed to be hideous!
Will go get it on Monday

I've got a gorgeous black woollen knee-length knitted dress, with a band across the chest of reindeer and snowflakes. It's really festive, but in a subtle way! And it covers my bum too... lol!

I've been trying to get my partner to buy one but he refuses. Grinchypoo!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/10/2012 21:22

Jazzy you might be on a hiding to nothing trying to get your OH in a dress Blush but show him the bit in Bridget Jones' Diary where Colin Firth looks scrummy in a nasty Christmas sweater and see if that changes his mind Grin
