Do I have the record for the first Christmas thread of 2012?

Have you all got the M&S Christmas food brochure over there? I was looking for it here (I think I saw mention of it coming out about 10 days ago in UK) but it's not here yet - but there are Christas cakes and puddings on the shelves. (I was nearly tempted to buy mince pies, but I'll wait another week....maybe).

Otherwise, I have sent a booking request for a holiday house between PIL and Parents - but they don't rent it out for Christmas (owner's Sis is coming from Australia). Damn! Back to square 1, as DH is talking about going down this year now (haven't been down for about 3 years). And I really don't want to go there unless we have a seperate base to work from - that we can ALL retreat to from the chaos of both houses (I am shamelessly using DD on this, as her Aspergers means she needs downtime sometimes, but the reality is that we can all deal with the families any other visit but Christmas Day visits are much better when we have an independent spot - and have been since before DD was born).

DD took herself off to the study yesterday and made 2 Christmas cards!!

fuzz that's great that DH is doing well! I hope the op has made a positive difference.

Well DH has found my stash of presents for dd, and has banned me from buying anything else! He seems to think we should spend equal amounts on dcs, but ds won't even be 1 at Christmas so I think he's being ridiculous. We will probably do this as they get older, but not while they are so small.

Thanks all :) he's getting there, slowly but surely. Trying to make the most of my time off but not overdoing it as I'm not too well myself. But Xmas is my main incentive for trying to declutter! (I'm going to make a thread on it I think :))

Got a few more presents including a Tom Daley hoodie (DSD!) and a set of dr who figures for DH's stocking. We don't really know what we are doing around Xmas ourselves so it's hard to plan food etc.

Oh and buzz that's basically what happened with me last year - I went overboard and felt really guilty about it so didn't tell DH about all of it. But then he got some used laptops off eBay for DSDs which turned out to be crap (he was new to ebaying!) so it kind of evened out :o

This year we agreed that absolutely everything (except gifts for each other obviously) would be discussed between us.

My sister gave birth last night by emergency C section, 10 weeks early, Harry weighs 3 pounds 8 and a half ounces, he is breathing on his own, mum and baby doing well

Congratulations to your Sister Rabid, that's another lovely snuggly bundle to enjoy at CHristmas this year, hopefully he will be home in plenty of time for that.

Today, after a few mad mad days at work, I hopefully will catch my breath again. And I want to get out at lunch to see the Chrsitmas Dept in Brown Thomas (large posh swanky Dept store - think truly Poncetastic!!), and also spend my ?5 off voucher in H&M (probably on new everyday tracksuit bottoms for DD, but may try to find a nice jumper for DH as part of his gifts).
