Some light food: salad, quiche, bread, cheeses and cake.

Start with about 12 baked potatoes cut in half. Then either add some kind of stew / saucy thing or else a load of salads meats cheese. Dips, crisps, pizza, festive canapés, bread, butter? Cake, fruit and nibbly type bits that come in those boxes. Napkins, paper plates, range of drinks, plastic cups if need be.. Any help?

We always do buffet on boxing day. For example, bread rolls, ham, cheese, crackers, cake, soleslaw, hummus, crisps, peanuts etc. Nice and easy :)

I find it easier to make a hot meal. A cold buffet takes a lot of work and I have tried both as we usually have lots of people on boxing day. You could try one or 2 of the following:

Soup
Chicken Curry
Lasagne
Chilli
Baked potatoes
Garlic bread

Cook a ham for meat eaters - can do in advance.
Do selection of cheeses and maybe some kind of tartlet (goats cheese and onion, tomato etc) or quiche to cover veges (tarts/quiche can be made in advance).
Salads (you can get ready made ones to save time) and bread.
Couple of chutneys/pickles.
