Anyone else suffer from Irrational Fear Of Small Present Pile Panic?

Why do I do this every year?

We have three DC. They are all getting plenty for Christmas (without going into ££ spent, which I know isn't the point)...

But every year around now I start to worry that when the presents all get put under the tree on Christmas Eve, the pile won't be quite big enough.

I am always careful to only buy things the DC will actually like/use/keep, and manage to avoid most of the plastic tat. But my IFOSPPP leads me to compulsive crap buying like there's no tomorrow - usually just on the basis of how big a box the crap comes in. Somebody please give a me a stern talking to and hide my credit cards.

i'm the same, i've gone ott this year. I did my last bit of shopping yesterday and when i got home and saw the huge pile my 2 sons already had under the tree, (including the pile of presents from santa currently taking over my spare room) i decided that considering they still have a few bits to come that i ordered on amazon and that i have almost run out of wrapping paper the couple of happyland toys i bought can wait till ds1's birthday. The thing is i'm looking at what i've bought and they only have 3 or 4 "little bits" the rest are big semi expensive presents. I hate to think what i have spent given they are 2 and 6 months, i remember how excited i used to be at christmas seeing the big pile of presents under the tree and i want my sons to have that.
