In our family we usually offer some kind of guidance/wishlist (rather than an alphabetised and indexed list of demandsGrin ) as to what we'd like for Christmas

What are you all asking for? Maybe I can crib from your ideas?
TIA

Baking classes would be fab but I'd make do with a decent hand mixer my sainsbos basics one is rubbish.
Some knee high leather boots as I've lost 7.5 stone and all my boots now like wellies.
Doubt I will get any of it unless i buy it myself as I'm divorced and in a new relationship that's not very old.

supadupaturkeystupour · 03/12/2011 17:11

my colours done with houseofcolour
a mantle clock
thorntons special toffee/continental chocs
amazon wish list stuff (can't remember but at least it will be a surprise)

and a healthy baby girl would be nice (due jan 20th :))

Ive asked for a few specific things this year:

Babyliss Big Hair (I also left a money off voucher on the coffee table for it, which vanished after a few days)
Clinique are doing a lovely little gift set - its a sparkly pink purse with inside a keyring and five mini lipsticks/glosses which are charms you can put on the keyring - its only £20 and I loved it ,although I havent seen it in the shops for a bit, so trying not to set my heart on it!
The Yankee Candles 12 days of Christmas gift set
Lost Boys DVD trilogy
Two Phillipa Gregory books

But will be happy with anything!

Onlyaphase · 03/12/2011 17:16

Marc Jacob's Daisy perfume
Peony and Moore pink Mariella bag (which I, erm, accidentally bought for myself today as it was £40 off this weekend)
Like Supadupa I'd like my colours done at House of Colour in the new year
A miraculous 4 stone weight loss on Christmas morning.

I don't KNOW what I'm getting but I'll have a general idea.

If you've got perhaps twenty or thirty to buy for and you don't like shopping particularly, it's a real help, I find, to have a guide. Especially with books because we don't all want ones we've read etc. My family all have amazon wishlists with a ton of books and then just a general guide like I outlined. I don't want to waste my money on whiskey when they drink gin, or fill their houses with tat they don't want and feel oppressed by etc.

It's also really a relief to see small, cheap things listed when you're skint (everyone puts on something small like chocolate or liebkuchen) that you know will properly be enjoyed and not just be an awkward pause. But of course if I see something I know they'll like, that's not on the list, I'll get that!

Yes Remus - I do know what I am getting from DH because I go and buy it myself (he does the same for his gift) - if I suggested A, B or C you can bet I would get X, Y or Z or a really naff version of A so I would much, much rather choose what I want - fed up of years of having to act surprised/pleased at totally useless presents Xmas Grin. .

And I don't think I am particularly hard to buy for - a scented candle or a tin of Celebrations would suit me !

DeckTheIceWithDragonsAndHolly · 03/12/2011 17:27

Xmas Shock I have no idea what i would like. A magic wand or house elf to do the cleaning would be nice. Impractical but nice Xmas Grin

I know what I would really like but it is a huge expensive thing so it will probably be a request for contributions towards. Don't really need anything. Not a lot i really want either. Other then a stress free christmas and i don't think i even had that when i was a child Xmas Hmm

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/12/2011 18:48

Oh no re the earrings!

Dp is good at buying me presents. He has only got it spectacularly wrong once, when he bought me a DVD of Dirty Dancing. I can't stand it but my two sisters love it and he had got confused!

I have now added two more suggestions to my list - some Aveda handcream and a lovely new, fluffy towel.

KWL - congratulations on your amazing weight loss.

deemented · 03/12/2011 18:56
