I've no clue. So far I have a book, DVD, 2 mini Lego surprise figures and choc coins. I would like to get some games or fun/disgusting stuff...

Obv. I'll put in a toothbrush/pjs etc as well.

Have a look at Hawkins Bazaar - they have lots of little things suitable for stockings. www.hawkin.com/36841-HBCHRISTMASFILLERS/fun-toys/stocking-fillers/

Ds, aged 10, will get some of wha you have listed too, including an annual.

Also, new toothbrush, sharpener, ruler, etc (he always loses these so are useful!), 'Plop Trumps', Match magazine, Chelsea slipper socks.

Luckily the dcs' stockings are not particularly large, so don't take much to fill. I may even have to take stuff off the list!

mogs0 · 28/11/2011 11:01

Ds is 9 and I've got him a battery powered pencil sharpener, hand-monster-tattoos, fingerprint art set, socks, the new How to Train Your Dragon book, Playmobil figure, Lego brick separater...I can't think of anything else but I know there's more Grin. I usually buy him underwear but he's put that on his list for FC.

whoatethelastbiscuit · 28/11/2011 12:12

Our DS is 10, can't remember it all as already finished and wrapped his stocking stuff, includes lynx gift set (he loves the stuff) a box of watercolours and brushes, a diablo, hat and gloves, books (Hound of the Baskervilles is one), a slime making kit, a blank journal (always scribbling his secrets), more bakugans, squirty foam soap, dehydrated space icecream (?), sweets and now I am worried what all those other box's are!!! might get him some new goalie gloves and stopwatch ... maybe a battery powered pencil sharpener (thanks for that one mogs0). Looking at that list it doesn't sound like my ds so there must be some science and history related stuff in other boxes but blowed if I can remember.

I have only got a few bits so far, and I am struggling a bit too, so this thread is very handy!
So far ds (9) has got a small pair of binoculars, a spy pen, notebook, small Lego set and bakugan.
I haven't got very far, as you can see!

charlieandlola · 28/11/2011 12:56

Hawkins Bazaar is your friend here - I have got ds's stocking virtually all from there.
Plus a paper airplanes book, horrible histories annual, simpsons annual, bubblegum ( he loves it but is not allowed it), ginger beer kit, hamburger shaped rubbers, polystyrene gliders and some Xmas lego.
Should keep him amused until, oh, about 4am!

winnybella · 28/11/2011 13:20

Grin @ 4am.

OK I like the idea of binoculars, bubblegum...dehydrated space ice-cream-WTH is that? Where do you get it from?

The problem is that DS is not interested anymore in Pokemon, Bakugan etc. His only interest at the mo is Star Wars Lego. And Nintendo DS games Hmm.

I also got him some of those little pellets that you throw on the ground and they make lots of noise- is it caps?

tummytickler · 28/11/2011 13:28

oooh bubble gum is a good idea. Ds isn't allowed it either - he would be over the moon!
My ds also gets a mini can of Coke, as he isn't allowed it, but loves it. He is always pretty pleased with his little can on Christmas day!

tummytickler · 28/11/2011 13:30

Space food - look on ebay, as the ebay shops sell it cheaper than elsewhere, and have free postage here

That stuff is very popular in our house, and I have bought some for all the kids in the extended family this year too!

SomekindofSpanish · 28/11/2011 13:35

Does he like Teck Decks (tiny skateboards?) DS1 (10) and his friends like these.

winnybella · 28/11/2011 13:39

Thanks, tummytickler-that looks fun! Think I'll order some.

Somekind-no, he's not into that at all.

whoate - I got ds' from lidl for £2 or £3 months ago and now not sure where it is.

Daftapath · 28/11/2011 15:01

What are the exploding cap things called? Ds lives those but don't know where to get them.

The other thing that usually gets included is an expanding flannel or silly bat sponge - las year I was a hamburger.

Wow, some of you do HUGE stockings Grin

ds1 has just turned 9, so far

  • light up yo-yo
  • dynamo torch
  • horrible science annual
  • couple of cheap ds games
  • brainbox maths game
  • long whirl-around-and-it-makes-a-noise tube
  • ruler, set square & protractor set
  • foil-art scrapper thingie
  • some glowbracelets

will get

  • selection box
  • any other little bits I see

Not sure what to get him as a "main" present, was thinking a 3ds game (as he just got that for his birthday and has no games) but having picked up 2 normal games for under £10 each if I got another one as a main present it might seem a bit odd.

We don't use a stocking, we have a pillowcase which has all of their father christmas presents, plus present from me, and any from family or friends which have been left here.

(got him plop trumps about 3 years ago - they are fab!
dot ds2 the hand tattoos last year, they are good,
and got ds1 "make your own slime/fart powder thing last year which he liked,
also sea monkey things were good a couple of years ago)

ChasingSquirrels · 28/11/2011 23:11

oh and

  • pack of rocket balloons (will put a few in for both ds1 and ds2)
Honeydragon · 28/11/2011 23:13

Slap watch silicone ones are around £3 delivered on ebay.
Hand claw grabber thing was £1 in Tesco a few weeks ago
Pants
Socks
Will be getting space food
Hair Wax
Soap (lego soap actually Grin)
Bath Bombs
Either a second hand ds game or dvd
book, probably captain underpants
1 month subscription card for club penguin (dh pays for it himself usually)

ChasingSquirrels · 28/11/2011 23:14

and

  • space food (having looked at that link - thanks :))
ChasingSquirrels · 28/11/2011 23:15

try the market for fun snaps, I think around 25p a pack

nothingoldcanstay · 28/11/2011 23:21

I know you have Lego already but have you looked at Firestart? They sell lots of odd bits and bobs of Lego.
In their clearance section for mini figures I picked up a (not very festive) gas mask, proper magnifing glass and a missile. Think they were all about 50p each. My DS will love them as they are so different.

winnybella · 28/11/2011 23:22

SIL said that DN would love a cap gun and that they are illegal in the UK so could I get one. But they do sell them on Amazon.co.uk Confused Does anyone know?
