Do you give selection boxes? Or is it only grannies?

How much was that Moaning. Is it peanuts or choc? DS2 could have that. Sorry I put you off Gwendoline it is expensive for what it is but DS2 will be thrilled-it was on his list last year!

About 6quid I think, not sure! Comes with 2 bags of choc M and Ms but they had big bags of christmassy peanut M and Ms in red and green for 2quid as well (sorry my pound sign has disappeared!)

bananamam · 19/11/2011 15:03

My kids get them as part of their stocking. Under there mini tree in their bedrooms.

Just checked, it was 6 pounds. You can put a coin in and twist to get the chocs out. It also works if you don't put money in ??

Sparklingbrook · 19/11/2011 15:06

Thanks Moaning. If I get that it will stop DS1 trying to steal DS2's Cadburys miniatures. Grin

Shock Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a selection box for the dc! My brothers and I always got one and swapped stuff. Well, when I say swapped, my brothers would sit on my head and fart until I gave them the ones that they wanted. Happy times Hmm.

Sainsbos had 2 for £5 last month and, surprisingly, they're still uneaten in the cupboard Grin.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 19/11/2011 17:59

I always wanted one of those cadburys chocolate dispensers.....never did get one. I look at them every year, debate getting myself one for 5 seconds then remember I am an adult and could inhale that amount of chocolate in minutesGrin

I always buy the dses selection boxes though....it wouldn't be Christmas without a selection box!

mumeeee · 19/11/2011 19:12

My DD's grannies don't buy selection boxes and never have done.

pramsgalore · 19/11/2011 19:40

only ever buy them in the sales after christmas when they work out at very good value

CrosswordAddict · 19/11/2011 19:45

My two never eat the things, maybe one or two bits but the rest is left hanging around for weeks.

Sparklingbrook · 19/11/2011 19:46

This thread has reminded me I need to get the chocolate novelties for the tree. There's lots about now but come December they are like gold dust round here. Has to be Cadburys and not the 'dog chocolate' ones according to DH.

DontCallMeBaby · 19/11/2011 19:53

PILs always get us one. DH, me, DD ... I thought it was a bit weird having a selection box off them when I first met DH, and was 25 - I'm now nearly 40. Every year, without fail. Even the year my main present from them was a humongous box of Hotel Chocolat goodies, I had to have a Cadburys selection box on the side.

inchoccyheaven · 19/11/2011 19:57

Father Christmas always puts a selections box in our stockings as he did when I was at home. I would be very sad if he didn't and as it has been said, swapping is part of the tradition too.

Have never received one from grandparents and neither have my sons so not just for Grannies to buy.
