I would usually have mine up by this time but we're having workmen in at the end of the month so might end up not bothering this year. I love Christmas and always start early.

MintAero · 03/11/2011 19:38

Well, yesterday I changed my NN to help get me in the festive spirit - plus those bloody pumpkins were doing my back in Grin - but I think it will be a while before I do much else - though have spotted a few Christmas cards lying about the place which could come in handy, and OK I have a couple of pressies thatImeanttogiveoutearlier which might work out OK. Trying not to leave it all to the last minute this year as it will only result in panic over-spending !
Decorations and tree - usually go up late and stay for a while around here Smile

Haven't been arsed to take the halloween decorations down yet. Will do that after Bonfire Night makes sense to me.

Um... No more than a week beforehand, as I cocking hate the fecking things.

My second best year was up on Christmas eve and down on boxing day:)

My best was the year I didn't bother at all:o

LittleDragon · 05/11/2011 19:09

I love Christmas and always start early. I don't celebrate halloween as a lot of the costumes and everything now verge on devil worship.
Unfortunately due to the workmen coming in I have got to get the whole flat boxed up, but once they've gone the first box I'll be opening will be the Christmas box.
Also we've got a lot of preparation to do at work ready for the Christmas Coffee Morning and Sale on the 24th November.
I am already listening to Christmas radio online and have a lot of my cards written.
I've also got a order in for Christmas 2012

Trills · 05/11/2011 19:19

I went "FFS" and asked MNHQ to put you in the Christmas topic where you belong.

How's that? :o

KatMumsnet · 05/11/2011 21:17

Hello. We've moved this thread to the Christmas topic, as we think that's the best place for it.

Bluebell99 · 05/11/2011 21:58

My local tesco already has a christmas tree and my pilates class held at a hotel had a life size golden santa in the corner this week!

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 05/11/2011 22:56

Our fairy lights along the kitchen cupboards havent come down from last year. Does that count?

I have a feeling that ours may go up next weekend when DS and I are away and DH gets bored.... If not they will go up on 24/25th November ready for DHs birthday party that weekend.

BabyDubsEverywhere · 05/11/2011 23:34

Our decorations were due to go up tonight but we've been too busy, will be going up next weekend. Having a Christmas themed birthday party for my DD's 3rd birthday - Like her mother a little christmas crazy :) Cant wait, have had them out of the loft and covering my diningroom for a month!

worldgonemad72 · 06/11/2011 00:02

I like mine to go up on the 1st of december, a facebook friend has put hers up already...or so she says. I have bought a few new decorations today though from dunelm mill and i got 400 new christmas tree lights from B & Q last weekend for £28 which i thought was a bargain Smile

sunnyday123 · 06/11/2011 08:28

ENormaSnob · 06/11/2011 11:57

Mine are going up on the 4th December this year.

ChooChooWowWow · 06/11/2011 12:43

We do have a "How Many Days Until Christmas" Santa blackboard hanging up in the Kitchen Blush.

I have bought all new decs for the tree this year. I can't wait to put it up about mid December.
