Can't think what to get him as his 'main' present this year so looking for ideas Smile

He would go nuts for as DS but me and DH have decided we don't want him to have one just yet...but am stuck for other ideas!

Have looked at the Imaginext sets but he doesn't really do role-play/imaginative play so not sure he would really enjoy it (DS2 otoh would adore them!) He gets bored with lego once DH has built whatever it was meant to be.

Good idea about the board games set. Ds2 loves to play chess.

DS got a Maxi Micro for his 5th birthday last year after running his Mini Micro into the ground due to excessive use :)
Very expensive present for us but will last until he is 12 or so, is fantastically built and is used most days.

This year he is getting a skateboard for his birthday in Nov but am watching with interest for Christmas ideas.

hi all - new here and this is my first post :)
Regards the Nintendo DS, we bought our DS one last year (he was 5) and he only uses it occasionally (ie, when we're out having a meal, on car journeys etc). I feared he would be constantly using it but this has turned out not to be the case! HTH x

Skateboard another good idea - ds2 loves skateboarding we were thinking of getting him one but ds1 is getting a new one so ds2 can have his old one. At the moment he is using one d1 made for him with some spare skateboard trucks and a bit of wood!

We have decided he is getting a motocross bike. Second hand of course but still very expensive. But motorbikes is what dh does with the boys, and they are very keen. So he would be getting one at somepoint anyway so might as well make it Christmas!

My youngest is 5, he has a nintendo DS and isn't obsessed with it, there are some amazing games you can get and I'm sure if you ask around you can find someone to help you acquire games Wink

Anything Imaginex or Playmobil is sturdy and lasts. Ds2 has both the Imaginex rocket (played with every week for the last 18 months) and the dinosaur (not played with much anymore.) He has playmobil police motorbike and police car which he loves.

This year it is Nerf -finally given in, Bakugan, ninjago, magNext.
