Aaaarrgh! Playmobil Advent Calendar trauma!!

Oh no! Just went to set up our lovely new Playmobil Advent Calendar (which my mum bought in Germany back in October and isn't available in the UK yet!) and there are LOADS of pieces missing - literally 8 days' worth (including Day 1) plus the cardboard backdrop!

Disaster! DD has been so excited about it and has literally been counting the days til Advent Calendar Day for 2 weeks - we almost needed an advent calendar to count down to the advent calendar!

I will phone Playmobil first thing tomorrow obviously but needed to come on here and let off steam - really hope this hasn't happened to anyone else Sad. I'm hoping we can rearrange the pieces slightly, enough to fudge it for the first day or so and hope she doesn't notice absence of backdrop. Bloody well hope they can send replacement parts/ a new one immediately!

I do know that the German for tarmac cutter is Fugenschneider - is that any help?

Norman and his mates have been climbing in the Playmobil advent calendar tree and bush today.....

goingroundthebend4 · 02/12/2010 20:52

tikka i got mine via Amazon but yes came from Germany and is all there scene was tucked down inside the box

ChippingIn · 02/12/2010 21:00

Did they get back to you? You are being awfully patient...

Tikkabillajive · 03/12/2010 00:04

Not yet - I called again today and spoke to someone different. Both people I've spoken to there have sounded very polite and efficient though (without actually saying if they are going to be able to help me or not...), and nicer than the UK customer service woman who really didn't sound as though she should be working in customer service. Person today said they would call me back tomorrow. It's hard to get cross with polite, efficient German people!

That reminds me, must check to see if we have an empty box again tomorrow and do some hasty rearranging before bed!

I know this is ridiculously boring for you all but just to update for those of you still with me! After another TEN calls to Playmobil Germany today (they kept putting me through to the Italian branch!) it sounds as though they are going to send the missing parts - though when they will arrive is a different question which they couldn't answer!!

I've been rooting through our extensive Playmobil collection and have found various bits and pieces I can use to fill the missing holes and hope dd doesn't notice - a sledge, some toys etc - no elves though, sadly - but I think it will be ok for now - shame we don't have a backdrop though!

thatlldopig we've got the pony ranch and, yes, I did do a double take at the poo! Have you noticed there's a pile on the floor of the 'scene' too?!

Am a bit alarmed to hear of missing pieces though, I may have to check the rest of ours tonight. This is our first Playmobil advent calender so my confidence has been shaken somewhat. Hope you get some joy Tikka.

ThatllDoPig · 03/12/2010 14:42

Yes, my dd has arranged her first pony, so that the decorated poo floor is positioned correctly IYKWIM!
tikka we aren't bored! - maybe we should be - maybe we have boring lives, but we're with you on the playmobil pain. Glad you've managed to bodge until the return of the promised elf. Hopefully will be quite quick if you can believe the German efficiency thing. Have you thought about adding chocolate money into the boxes too, to add something else?

If the elf hasn't turned up by Christmas what you should do is write a teeny tiny note with a skinny nibbed pen in the last box, from the elf himelf. It could say that you are really very sorry, but will be a little bit late as you are having a party in the grotto, or helping FC with a special job. BUT you will be there soon, just when you least expect it!

ChippingIn · 03/12/2010 17:37

Tikka - it's not 'ridiculously boring' at all (and anyone who thinks so can go onto one of the other 4000 threads!).

It sounds as though you have made a little progress. Hopefully they will understand advent calendar/christmas/need parts thing and you will get them soon!

If DD does notice, just tell her that you will ring the lady and tell her that they must have forgotten the elf and that you will ask her to send you a special one!

Keep updating Grin

SnowMuchToBits · 03/12/2010 18:32

Not boring at all - we want to be kept updated! [fbear] Just trying that out, now the bear has a hat...

Tikkabillajive · 03/12/2010 19:31

Thank you, you are all lovely! It's good to know I have the might of the MN Playmobil Squad supporting me! Grin

Keep us posted - in the meantime Norman sends you a cup of tea..... Xmas Grin

MortaIWombat · 04/12/2010 12:00

Hi Tikkabillajive!

Any developments today? And , I couldn't help noticing you did get an angel. I've got the same set (also courtesy of German mum). How on earth do you attach the wings to the angel? I am stumped!

Tikkabillajive · 04/12/2010 13:08

Hi AwesomeWellies (fab name!) We did get an angel but she came without the wings Shock - but we have another angel from last year (dd says they can share the wings between them) and the wings just hook over her shoulders like a rucksack. I don't think they stay on very securely though.

Cheers for the tea Norm! Grin

Whats the latest? Any elfing news yet?

BTW, if you liked the PNP site for Christmassy fun, try one called 'elf yourself' hope you can find it, can't do links. It's hilarious distracting fun.

ProfYaffle · 19/12/2010 09:22

Today is festive poo day! Hoorah!

SnowMuchToBits · 19/12/2010 09:29

Yes, we're all wondering what's happened with your advent calendar tikka. Did Playmobil send you any replacement parts?
