I have got him so far,

Pacific DVD set,
Aftershave set,
Jar of sweeties,
& i will probably get him a new shirt also.

BornToFolk · 23/11/2010 14:26

So far..
Simon Pegg book
Book about how to hunt zombies
Iron Man 1 and 2 on DVD (which I'll label as being from DS)
Nirvana live at Reading CD
Shin guards for his martial arts
And I'm knitting some secret socks.

I'm actually feeling pretty pleased with that as he is notoriously hard to buy for and the only thing that he actually asked for were the shin guards and DVDs, everything else is my idea.

I might nick the Lego idea though...he's been talking wistfully about how great it'll be when DS is old enough for Lego so he might get some of his own.

twirlymum · 23/11/2010 14:37

So far I've got DH

Tickets to a comedy show (which is more for me Grin)
A book on hot rods
A Moleskine cover for his iPad (well, I've pre-ordered one, whether it actually arrives in time is another matter!)

I'll also get him a huge toblerone (bit of a tradition, even though I end up eating most of it)

mistletoekisses · 23/11/2010 14:42

So far I have gotten DH the following:

The Good wife season 1
Ralph Lauren Socks
IPAD
Personalised Calendar/ Economist Subscription (although these are not surprises as they make an appearance each year)

Getting him a nice keyring from our DS's

I don't use it and pretend to DS1 that I don't know how to switch it on Wink.

DS1 is 4.5 and uses it a little bit with DH at the weekend but doesn't really know how to play the games (driving ones).

We haven't bought him any of his own as I think he's still a bit little and don't want the inevitable stress.

Am quite happy for it to be DH's toy.

The3Bears · 23/11/2010 15:42

I have got dp:

3 CDS
A Book
A DVD
Black ops game for ps3(which hes already playing Blush)
Gran turismo 5 game for ps3
ps3 accesories
A coat

Going to get him a couple of tops from topshop and a boxset hes wanted :)

The3Bears · 23/11/2010 15:44

My dp is also like a 15 yr old boy all he wants is things for his beloved ps3 Grin

GetOrfMoiLand · 23/11/2010 15:45

We are not bothering.

It is silly really - we don't need anything, if we want something we tend to buy it as and when. So generally we spend money on daft stuff for each other for Christmas, or just more clothes, which is not really anything special as we buy clothes for each otehr all the time.

So instead of presents we are going to spend the money on a meal at a really smart restaurant.

QuoththeRaven · 23/11/2010 15:51

4 books (all lovecraft related)
a cd which i had to order from germany (lovecraft related)
a new bag for his laptop

in his stocking -

sweets
socks
batteries
new pens
a common cold plushie
and £20 towards his tattoo

unfitmummy · 23/11/2010 16:11

RUBYRUBYRUBY - my dc's are 2 and 5. ds who's 2 is toy story obsessed and dd who's 5 is into drawing and making, and schoolwork and swimming. i like the idea of being able to use the ps3 for watching bbc iplayer etc on the tv as we only have freeview. but it's so much more expensive than a wii i'm not sure if it's worth it.

champagnesupernova · 23/11/2010 16:17

what is lovecraft? Confused

Seona1973 · 23/11/2010 17:42

unfitmummy, my dh has a ps3 and the kids rarely play it but it is the console that dh uses his games for so I will probably get him a coupld of new ones for it (if he tells me which ones to get!). The kids (4 and 7)tend to use the wii for their games but they are getting an xbox at christmas so we need some games for that too

Slubberdegullion · 23/11/2010 17:46

I'm commissioning a painting of each the dds in action on our favorite beach by a local artist.

CerealOffender · 23/11/2010 18:13

wtf is lovecraft (dare i google?)

orienteerer · 23/11/2010 18:17

Lovecraft??

WoTmania · 23/11/2010 18:22

I'm planning on knitting him some nice warm socks

BelligerentGhoul · 23/11/2010 18:39

Lovecraft is a writer.

BelligerentGhoul · 23/11/2010 18:40

freudianSlimmery what is this Sherlock Holmes forensics book of which you speak, please?

So far I've got dp a boxed set of Hitchcock DVDs. That's it.

nancydrewrocked · 23/11/2010 18:45

HMC I bought DH a leather cufflink box from Links a few years back. I wasn't convinced it was his thing but he loved it - reckons it is the only almost totally frivilous thing he owns.

DH is getting a book, some Chanel eau de toilette, some golf accessories and erm...no idea. In my defence it was his birthday last week and I got him an ipod touch so I am now lost for ideas.

FoundWanting · 23/11/2010 19:46

unfitmummy I would say your dcs are still a bit young. DS2 is nearly 7 and has only just got the hang of the ps3 since we got a 'move' thingy which makes it more like the Wii.

DH and DS1 (12) love the ps3 though. If it his thing, and you can afford it, I'd get it. Can't say I use it, but that is more because it is never free when I want to play.

hmc · 23/11/2010 20:42

That's good to know NancyD - perhaps my dh will feel similarly!

I've bought DH a kindle. He has been going on about them for ever.

I've also got him a money clip. Bizare but again he wanted it. I could spend a fortune on him. Very easy to buy for as he likes everything!!!

I got him a PS3 last year. He is still telling everyone what a great wife I am for this...

hmc · 23/11/2010 21:04

Some of you are very lucky to have dh's that tell you what they want, rather than look at you blankly!

We were going to get each other a new b ed this year but then on friday my tumble dryer nearly burnt my house down and on sunday we realised the reason all our food had gone of was because the fridge was fooked so ermm thats the bed out of the window then! Might get him some new pillows!
