Bright pink and turquoise sheeny papers with the alternating ribbons from Papyrus last year.

ikea had lovely brown paper with red or green gingham a couple of years ago. I bought it with varius different widths of green and red satin ribbons and it was gorgeous. Very Nordic as opposed to Swedish (well it might have been Swedish but I haven't been to either)Grin

Oh I'd love to have a wrapping room a la Will n Grace!

i'm going v traditional in the main lounge this year - green tree, red & gold trim.

as i end up buying all the presents for us from the family, i have to wrap them as well (then act surprised when i open them), so i do get to co-ordinate everything. sadly, as we post all the gifts we give, they have to be wrapped very simply (yes, i get to buy those as well, not sure how we ended up with this arrangement).

so, for going under our tree, i'd like to find either red, green or gold shiny/metallic (solid colours) which i could then put ribbons round - e.g. green shiny, with gold ribbon, gold shiny with red ribbon etc.
or - the same colours in tissue paper, with ribbons.

the main problem is knowing how much to buy, when i don't know what presents we're getting yet. i STILL have some white, silver & pale blue left over from 5 years ago.

I still have a few metres left of the fab ribbons I got from Ikea a few years ago - neon pink, turquoise, navy and um...another colour. They were weird papery ribbons but v. nice. I always fancy doing the real ribbon thing but they look a bit floppy compared to nicely curled wrapping ribbons. My mum uses the v beautiful but v expensive wired ribbons on hers.

Thanks for the code Bucharest! Still working as of 2 mins ago, and I just spent over £100 (ouch). Now have to find paper to match with the Noel ribbon I just bought.

Oh, and Grin at cybbo.

I did put those Pumpkin baubles in basket but deleted I think they would have looked very shimmery on my mantle.

Wow ! I didn`t spend as much as you Checkmate.
