The Rapture?

HootyMcBoobys · 22/08/2025 11:17

Hello fellow Christian mumsnetters.

Have any of you noticed the mass of videos on social media claiming that the Rapture is about to happen in September?
What do you think about this, and do you believe in the Rapture in general? Would you welcome it now, or be afraid, especially if you knew that friends or family have not found God and would be left behind?

Obviously there have been many times this has been predicted in the past, and those have all been wrong, but I can't recall there ever being so many testimonies about this before. Apparently there have been many weird things going on astronomically, earthquakes, etc etc.

Do you think we are living in the end times?

I don't claim to be a Bible expert but some say that Rapture is not even in the Bible and was invented by man.

Thoughts?

Welp, the world's still here!

I have been doing some reading of late of the Book of revelations.

The first rescurrection is there any church's who say this has been and done already? It seems to me that from there will be those who go and those left will wait another 1,000 years and could be waiting a long time. Is this case to some people?

I wrote this one that most should understand. My Bible at the back as a good section that explains this I've found-

To marriage to the Lamb-(Revelations 19:7)

Answer?

This is symbolic and let me explain and start with a scripture-

"Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God."

To explain this further- this is when a new moment has come for God's people. The lamb which is Christ-is pictured to come for his bride .Christ's bride is represented as being his people memebrs of his church. He comes to take them to occupy the mansions in HIS Father's house John 14: 1-3. Christ has symbolised his relationship to His people by the use of the marriage instiution. In the New Earth it's occupants the people will be seen as the lamb's bride.

Question-How do you imagine yourself New Earth and the city New Jerusalem to be like?

Answer-For me New Jerusalem which will be the home for Jesus' people-his lamb will be spectacular. God the Father will remain the Creator and New Jerusalem will be a city in New Earth where people will live without sin and in close relationship with God again and they will his face. Those who have suffered previously their faces will be lit up like light and they will seem radiant as they will be from sin-as did Moses face when he saw God and then removed his veil .

I wrote this yesterday also which is nicely related- I know for God and his Son this is one of their keen areas-

Hi everyone, for those of you who do not know, The Son of God, the Son of Man (Psalm 80), Jesus Christ is God's Son and he is with us, seek him to find him. He is also known as the Son of Elias that now resides in resides in Heaven with God the Father, the Holy Spirit and his hosts of angels and Saints.

His word is found in the New Testament and he is the only bridge to God the Father that leads to eternal life to be saved from spiritual death at the end of time.

Through his precious Son's blood we are made to be fit alone through him for the forgiveness and remission of our sins. His Eucharist again joins us to his Body as members of Christ which he is the Head of that Body (Ephesians 1:22-23).

I am waiting if allowed to go to the ivory tower where the gatekeeper waits which is Jesus Christ in heaven.

God the Father awaits to meet you to. God’s arms always extends to you. He wants us all to be grafted back onto his Olive tree which he loves with a passion (Romans 11) "Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in" those who are not joined yet who are not Christian he wants you and you need to be grafted in back onto the Olive tree to be saved.

God has many faces as Psalm 18 tell us, he has the capacity to show divine love and mercy to those who give him their love and who are obedient towards him as Jeremiah .showed us (Jeremiah 31:3l). God can be compassionate, but shrewd when he wants to be to the enemy, He is GOD, the same GOD as always.

We are all the same before God as (Galatians 3:28) tells us and he wants us all to be grafted back onto his olive tree from all nations including where he was most passionate and stood as their God of the Israelites-why not come back to the Olive tree...you are being gently called in the wind, his spirit will reach you. I know God will do what he said he will do he will come through and he will estanlish his people in the New Jerusalem which people of Christ will be invited to join by him where peace and love will abound with sweet Solomon songs..

The unbeliving Jews will be grafted back in when they meet and accept the Son of Man Yeshua, Jesus Christ who is our Saviour as God's Son and they will. More signs of Christ will instigate leading them back and people will be being baptised in the street and which were empty will soon be filled and God’s spirit will be poured out on the earth as the Prophet Joel said (Joel 2:28) till the Perfect One comes again which is only Jesus Christ (Hebrews 12) who has the keys to Heaven and who is God's only Beloved Son (Matthew 3:17).

It is God who sends us water from his chambers which gives us water to drink and water that provides food for the grass (Psalm 104). This is the same God which gave us Manna from heaven.

Peace to you till that day.

Keep working in the field till he comes-"Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left."
" (Matthew 24:20).

Full Preterists believe that everything prophesied in the Bible has already happened (at around 70 AD with the destruction of the Temple, seen as The Judgment), that all written in Revelation was already fulfilled not long after John wrote it. That Jesus already returned (in a spiritual sense, not physically) Satan is already bound and this is the new heavens and earth because the new covenant has come. I have no problems with totally rejecting this view as a false teaching!

How do you imagine yourself New Earth and the city New Jerusalem to be like

Absolutely amazing! Beyond anything I can imagine. 😊

Thank you for this Gentle Sheep, because if you say to someone if you die you could wait 2,000 years in state some will find that hard to be motivated for. I am glad to see that some people think that it has been done. Either way doesn't matter to me though at th end of the day but 2,000 is quite long.

I thought it was heaven or hell when you die for most of my life and started reading about new earth recently. I wonder what will happen a bit to those bodies which are buried. My rector told me that God will decide where to send people to New Earth or Heaven.

Justmerach · 02/10/2025 10:12

I don't entertain anything as being worthy to consider other than the Full Preterists that the 1,000 year rescurrection may have happened. The rest of their ideas I don't agree with. I will go though with the other church's then and say none of this has happened.

I put this question to my rector of an Anglican church who is mature in the post. I was finding it hard to understand about the timeline. She says it has been done the 1st resurection and now we are waiting upon the 2nd Rescurrection. I know Christ is risen but Revelations mentions that some people will rise up to. I never knew this apart from the man who he said he would on the cross. So Revelation 20 has been. Some think that the Rapture is around Chapter 4 but my rector doesn't so. So, it doesn't follow an order.

"In Revelation 20 (KJV), the "first resurrection" refers to the event where the souls of those who were beheaded for their testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and who did not worship the beast, come to life and reign with Christ for a thousand years. This resurrection precedes the final resurrection of all other dead, ensuring that participants in the first resurrection are blessed, holy, and immune to the power of the "second death"

Their answer- Hi Christ is risen already. We await the second coming of Christ and with it, the fulfilment of all things-we are told to expect this and don't know the timescales about when it will happen.

Hi everyone, I asked some of you what did you make of the 24 elders and who they were. I got a reply, but found this in my Bible today about who they are and thought I would share. It was said before that they represent the church, but my Bible says something different and I am going to share this.

I was wondering to where do you think Elijah and Moses came from on the Transfiguration. Do you think they came from Heaven or what else does this mean to you? This is an image of it.
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7b/Transfigurationbloch.jpg

Question-
Who were the 24 elders seated on the thrones round about God thrones? How did they get into the heavenly court?
Answer-
Matthew tells of a special group who were resurrected at the time. Christ arose after His death Matthew 27; 50-53. Paul says Christ “ led captivity captive”. Ephesians 4.8. So it is possible the 24 elders were resurrected at the first time of Christ’s victory.

I asked a question before to, if God will be praised or judged by others for his judgements and found this to.

  1. Will God be Praised in reality for his judgements (Revelations 19 1-6).

Answer-
God simply be praised for his judgements on earth and not judged in a case by his elders, but simply worshipped for being great. John pictures here those who escape God's wrath. He records them as singing a song triumph over Babylon and ascribing praise to him who has given the victory. In six verses the term Alleluia is used which means "Praise ye the Lord" God's people have reason for using this terminology. It is an expression of great joy. In the lives of his His people God has experienced as a present help. It speaks of salvation, the righteous judgements of God. God's greatness, and the fact that the time has arrived for the reign of God again for his people without Satan.

This thread actually provided me the answers about symbolism/litreal I wanted to know.. Also, an old Bible the back of it was a great reference to. I have three Bible's and one is old from 1976 that we used in my childhood which I bought online. It has got a such a good summary of the Revelations with things may be hard to find today. With my questions answered and Bible as the true source packed with information-I may myself do a session for those with learning disabilites and autism online. It would be a one off and on the end times made easy for everyone to understand. All those question I asked and a bit about Satan, 2nd rescurrection and the New Earth and it is done.
It is about 30-45minutes session for free I was told to email them if I had any ideas and that is one.
The point is perhaps some of you could do something like that teaching in your own style.
I have got play animals to and it would be fun like the horse and the 2nd resurrection.
This to add to my collection today-

I would send them my ideas here about doing one class only -

Hi everyone, may be some of you will understand this. I read the below today and I don't get it yet. It can also make it seem that all church's need a candlestick to be a true church. Are you meant to ask your minister if your church has a candlestick? Or is one church have a cover for all the church's of the same type.

Is some of your understanding the same as this person below.

In Revelation 1:20 says The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the seven churches, and the seven candlesticks which you saw are the seven churches ............ See do your church have a candlestick of the Lord and is it one of God churches? If it does, you need to go and be counted as one for the glory of God to worship the Lord, so you cannot miss going as God Multitude of Heavenly Host of God will be there helping God's Spirit ........ If your church does not have a candlestick and God's Heavenly Host, then you need to invite God and His Spirit in to your Church for Jesus and pray for people blocking God to have a Heavenly Host helping them

Justmerach · 01/11/2025 12:03

I think this post has become more about the Book of Revelations and end times discussion now. It can return to the rapture of course.

About the candlesticks above, I will exit for me I think on this simple explaination. I am non demontional but an attend an Anglican church today and I did look on the Church of England website and did see that they do use candles to mark this.

What I am going with to be very simple-

Revelations (1:20) speaks about the candlesticks of the church's- this means most simply that church's have a divine calling and value to Christ today to bring light to the world.
