I would get some baby friendly bugs down her to be safe, babylife by solaray one of the best infant preps I have come across. kids under 5 have different bugs to adults and babylife has plenty of bifidum infantis, one of the main freindlies in children.
babylife is non tasting and perfectly safe and can be mixed in with most foods as long as its not hot food, my son always had his in yoghurts as he had anti B's for 14 days when born due to his mum having group b strep and unable to get to the hospital before her waters broke.

(Quick hijack to misi: I think it was you that kindly put me onto 'under the sea' templates last week. Party was fab, really nice craft activity, thank you!)

lulumama · 06/10/2008 14:50

he'll be ok! what was it in the end?

bumbly · 07/10/2008 19:52

noone knows and is still ongoing

OP posts:
misi · 07/10/2008 20:17

what are the symptoms?

bumbly · 08/10/2008 13:57

rash that developed over a month to resemble strep infection/follicultis

developed all over body quite bad but not itchy now nearly two months since started

was told papular urticaria after mmr reaction to perhaps insect bite

amongst other theories - that to me seems mnost reasonable??

now rash dieing down after antibiotics and antihistamines but still see some pimples coming and going and skin not quite right everywehere

as if underlying rash

very worried but hospital totally dismissing me

OP posts:
misi · 08/10/2008 20:42

does it resemble any of these pictures at all?

www.visualdxhealth.com/diseaseGroups/itchyNewChildRashes.htm

bumbly · 09/10/2008 11:37

no - a bit like chicken pox first image but not as scabby

looks pimply

like follicultis or uritcaria with bumps not one long hive

still ongoing with new bumps coming and ging but less red, less numerous and come and go quicker

but still there!

OP posts:
misi · 09/10/2008 12:55

thats good for a start, is the rash more concentrated in the folds of the skin or in soft places where the skin touches other skin or is it generally all over?

bumbly · 09/10/2008 21:27

generally all over and actually not in folds of skin

today new pimples/spots/red rash appearing on leg, arm and back and oh yes bum

ever so worried as noone knows what it is

papular urticaria it could be... but it is not itching to the little one!

OP posts:
misi · 10/10/2008 11:13

any chance you can take a pic of the rash and put it on your profile?
I won't be able to look at anything till sunday evening now but it may give me a chance to look through my rather large book that has nasty pics of rashes etc!!

bumbly · 12/10/2008 18:47

sorry bumbly, my son bought a friend home from school on friday, and it caught up with me sunday night, been laid up since but on the mend now and will flip through my book later tonight and get back to you as soon as.

lulumama · 14/10/2008 21:28

bumbly , DD often got odd rashes as a young baby/toddler. often simply viral . at times it was misdiagnosed as chicken pox and one time i though she had measles.

as she has got older, she has grown out of it

bumbly · 15/10/2008 13:13

lulu - but did those rashes last two months?

OP posts:
misi · 15/10/2008 20:43

, 250 pages so far and some similar things but unless you have been to borneo/sumatra recently or the depths of tropical africa, not found anything that fits, only another 700 pages to go

can I send the picture to a friend of mine to see if they have an idea?

Califrau I would suggest you read up on the latest research before you say 2 doses of strong anti b's don't do any harm in the long term especially the stuff coming out of the ACCP (american college of chest physicians)

bumbly · 15/10/2008 23:32

yes you can show pic to friend !

thanks for help btw!!!!!!!!!!

misi · 18/10/2008 22:25

hi bumbly, we have a few suggestions but need some more info as what we have doesn't usually last for that long. without prompting you as to what I want to hear, can you tell me anymore details? if you don't want to write it here then either CAT me or write to [email protected]

yomellamoHelly · 18/10/2008 22:35

Could it be a reaction to clothing / detergent / or something similar? - Sounds like it's where they'd be covered by clothing. Or could your lo be getting too hot and sweaty (just wonder because of back).
