I don't even know where to start but I took my daughter (4 months) to the GP as she's done this flickering eye roll ever since she was born and they thought it was linked to reflux as did we but they referred us to a paediatrician just to be sure. They did an mri and eeg which showed seizures but found out yesterday that she has a 2cm mass on her brain. I am absolutely devastated and don't know where to go from here. They haven't given an indication as to what they think it is and we are just waiting to hear from them. All I'm thinking is the worst and I can't stop crying. I've been thinking about how I'm going to kill my self when my daughter dies. I feel hopeless and that I don't have the strength to do this. She is my only child and I tried for over 3 years to have her with miscarriages in between. They thought she was missing her cavum during pregnancy so that was traumatic too. I don't know what to do, I can't believe this is happening to us.

kateandme · 11/12/2022 22:34

It's great news op.
What Christmas present!
It's kind of great they found this when she's so young.if they can find a medication now she's set up for life.and relatively unscathed.imagine starting seizures as a youngster, teen or older when you no What s going on.that I think would be worse to handle for you and her.
Try to put it away now.she is safe.atthis point in time you've got the all clear.believe that.and use tis to make the most of every possible second.dont let it scare you into hiding or fears that cripple.

Just caught up with Friday's developments.

What a rollercoaster you've both been on, so worrying for you, but I'm delighted to hear outcome. Natural to have ongoing concerns, but hopefully also reassuring to you that it'll all be monitored along the way.

And hope that you can access whatever emotional support YOU feel you need.

You sound such a loving Mum, and your daughter's an absolute sweetheart! Her spirit just shines through in those photos.
Enjoy a peaceful Christmas together x

Excellent news, and I must say your baby is so cheerfully lovely- if we could bottle her smile it would cheer anyone up.

Weepachu · 12/12/2022 21:51

Thank you for the new photo OP. Her smile just lights up my day - she is so beautiful. Have a lovely Christmas with her. Hoping you can recover soon from your awful stressful time, and have a great childhood with your adorable baby.

Thank you again everyone for your lovely comments. We have had a good week. Had breakfast with Santa and visited all grandparents for well needed cwtches 🥰 gave her her first little taste of sweet potato too (she will be 6 months at Christmas) and safe to say she loved it 🥰 she looks such a big girl in her high chair. I'm not ready 😢 I went to a spa for a few hours yesterday just to clear my head a bit. It was lovely but all I do is worry when I'm not with her. Who knew having a baby would come with so much anxiety. 😂

Oh, she's just lovely!

All that anxiety is a very normal response to what you've just been through, OP. Remember hormones are all over the place after you've had a baby anyway; they can take at least a year to settle down. And you've just had a horribly stressful few weeks. That can take time to recover from. Plus, it's pretty normal to want to be with your baby all the time. 😊

Hope you can slowly unwind and enjoy a lovely xmas with your family.

Coxspurplepippin · 13/12/2022 09:36

The red socks! She is such a bundle of hugableness. Lucky family getting all the cwtches (I love that word - it's like hygge - no direct translation but means so much in one small word).

No-one tells you about the anxiety. Probably just as well........

Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and a bright and happy New Year.

I'm delighted to read your update
It's been a rollercoaster of emotions for you
The anti seizure medication sounds daunting but it will become part of your daily routine
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas

Hughsrunning · 13/12/2022 12:27

Oh she's just a dote - which is what the Irish call something really lovely and adorable. A sweetheart.

Yes - 'The Fear' - it comes with parenthood and you've had a really stressful patch. Look after yourself - spa times was a very good idea. You will all get through this.

Hughsrunning · 13/12/2022 12:29

Whenever I have something really stressful I think 'well it may be normal for the species but it's not normal for the individual' 💐💐💐

ZeldaWillTellYourFortune · 13/12/2022 12:30

I think we need a new thread just for a daily photo of this cutie!

Always4Brenner · 13/12/2022 13:44

Gorgeous pictures have the best Christmas with your little 👼.

marvellousmaple · 13/12/2022 23:37

So adorable. Have a lovely christmas!

Namechangeblabla · 14/12/2022 00:04

Oh my goodness, what great news. Have been following your thread and am wishing you the best Christmas with your gorgeous little girl.

anyolddinosaur · 16/12/2022 07:56

So pleased the news is good. The NHS is so careful over anything that might even possibly be cancer in a child - sending to Great Ormond Street was just to be 100% sure not 99.9999%. Have a lovely Christmas.
