Snipped baby's finger with clippers!

Husband was clipping 10 week old's nails and snipped a bit of his finger tip off! Washed it with alcohol wipe, stuck plaster round it then put a mitten on it.
Don't know what else to do!!
Anyone able to advise/relate?

Yeah, we’ve done that. More than once actually.

When you say snipped off - presumably you mean it’s a small cut? Not that there’s actually a chunk of flesh missing?

I had my SiL do my dc.
She was a whiz.

Caught the skin or chopped a bit off? Any bleeding?

Alcohol wipes on broken skin will sting like crazy OP.

A tiny bit missing I think, although I was so keen to clean and plaster it that I'm not sure how extreme. It wasn't a massive amount, but more than a cut. I'm just going to see if it's stopped bleeding once he's had a nap. Anyone able to say how I should treat it till it heals? He eats his hands a lot!

I'm sure it did but he was already super upset we thought it best to just clean it quick and wrap it.

My husband did this when our LO was a couple of weeks old! He (husband) felt terrible and wanted to go to the hospital to have it stitched but in reality it was tiny. We cleaned it up and put on a scratch mitt and it healed in no time. Try not to worry, sounds like you’ve done a good job cleaning it up.

It's a right of passage for every parent!

Bless you. I did this the first time I cut my DDs nails. I was very upset at the time! I think I cried. You’ve done the right thing in cleaning it and putting on a scratch mitt. It will heal up very quickly. And just to reassure you further, my ‘baby’ is now in year 7 and shows no ill effects at all!

Peel them off. No need for clippers.
