We LOVE Julia Donaldson and have quite a collection of her books now. Can anyone recommend anything else that is as engaging for my 3YO?

My 3 year old loves books, including :

Chris Haughton (maybe is a big favourite of his)
Jon klassen (he likes the rock from the sky a lot)
Oliver Jeffers (I love the great paper caper)

He’s also currently obsessed with supertato.

xxxSophiex · 06/04/2024 08:50

Has anyone said Supertato yet? They're our favourites

babysoupdragon2 · 06/04/2024 08:52

Mine love the "there's a monster in my book" books by Tom Fletcher- really engaging and lots of giggles.

NoWordForFluffy · 06/04/2024 08:52

The Dinosaur who Pooped series is great as the prose bounces along and is fun / easy to read out loud.

I agree with Supertato too. The kids loved those!

I just did. 😁 My 3 year old loves supertato. I think we have all the books. This week he’s finding eviltato hilarious.

Astariel · 06/04/2024 09:47

The problem with the dinosaur who pooped books is that they are quite revolting really. My 3 year old thinks they’re great obviously. But I grimace at the poo. 🫣

DelurkingAJ · 06/04/2024 09:50

Aliens love underpants and the rest of the series were a big hit here.

powershowerforanhour · 06/04/2024 09:54

Rosemary Wells' -
Max & Ruby books
Stanley & Rhoda

ImustLearn2Cook · 06/04/2024 09:58

I see Meg and MOG mentioned a few times. My daughter loved those books. She also loved Pamela Allen books such as The Potato People and Who Sank the Boat. She loved (and still does) Diary of a Wombat by Jackie French.

ColleenDonaghy · 06/04/2024 10:16

Chris Haughton and Tom Fletcher are very popular here with both 5 and 3 year old DDs.

SwingsAndRoundabouts22 · 06/04/2024 10:24

Big smash hits recently from the library for us:

There's a Shark in the Park!
I Spy Island (same writer/illustrator as Supertato)
Dogs Don't Do Ballet
There's a Bear on my Chair

My personal favourites (timeless classics!):
Each Peach Pear Plum
Peepo!
The Alfie stories by Shirley Hughes
