Whew! TFIF.

I promised my son and my nearly 6 yr old mindee that I would bake today. On the wish list is Choc Chip Cookies, blueberry muffins, apple muffins and Chocolate Crumble (???). DS who is 4.3 suggested the Chocolate Crumble.

Oh, dear! I have NO idea when I am going to be able to get the ingredients. I think I may cheat and buy the muffins and then make some chocolately crumbly thing tomorrow with DS.

I think I have the ingredients for Choc Chip Cookies..... let me go and have a look.

We are off swimming this morning.

We had a hetic day yesterday, I havae anew little girl, who is having a tough time settling, she is almost a year and seperation anxiety is quite ba, but we will get there.

it dint help that BT came to fix the post yesterday, an the Project Manager from the estate refused to let them leave without doing the lines as well She Rocks!

but it was just after I had but the babies to bed, and all the drilling woke them up, but I wasnt going to tell them to come back later

So i had two tired little ones.

mumsanutter · 23/01/2009 07:18

Mums wanders in, grabs a coffee and collapses onto the chair.....

Another bad night in the mums house! Went to bed early, but ds4 woke and we then spent the night dealing with coughing fits, being sicked on (due to coughing), and then not sleeping properly as kept listening to ds breath!! Also wasn't in a good place as dh return has been delayed again, and he 'told' a friend on facebook when he was coming home and didn't say anything to me until I said that I'd read the page!! God I feel yucky

Shoshe - glad that you haver your phone sorted now. When I spoke to dh he said to ensure that you get compensation. Have fun swimming, and good luck with your new mindee.

No4 - Hope the cooking goes ok. We are going to make homemade pizza today (as long as I made the dough!!)

PS sorry for the moan

Shoshe · 23/01/2009 07:23

Mums we will, although the three emails I have sent to the complaints deptment, that I should have got a reply to within 48 hours have been ignored!

I will write to them an send it registered post.

Appalling Customer Service.

LoveMyGirls · 23/01/2009 08:20

Morning everyone,

Mums I don't know how you manage with DH away all the time it's so hard when they're little and sick without doing it on your own and he should have rung you to tell you he was delayed.

Enjoy baking

Good news about your landline shoshe!

I think I'm leaving dd2 here with my mum snuggled up as she is a bit under the weather, well we both are really think it's a relapse of the illness I had before xmas but I'm not as bad this time round, dd has a temp but no other symptoms, she did wake us a few times last night though.

Yesterday was a hellish day, my car broke down (is ok now), dp's car was already in the garage and they said a min of £700 to sort it out, plus I owe nat insurance £160 as they have been sending it to my old address and then we got a gas bill for £225 so yesterday was an expensive day - just as I'd finally got my overdraught down to under 1000 overdrawn! Well onwards and upwards eh!

SammyK · 23/01/2009 09:18

Hi everyone, so pleased it's Friday I have one more week of full time cm'ing, and then from feb onwards I am only working 2-6 for two siblings.

Hope all the poorly people feel better over the weekend.

Has Katymac had her inspection yet? Been running in and out all week so may have missed a thread.

KatyMac · 23/01/2009 09:19

No - she cancelled

mumlove · 23/01/2009 10:36

I am so . I dropped DD at school, went to the bank, parked the car back at home and popped for coffee at the cm's down the road for an hour to come home passed my car and there is a large dent in the bonnet

leo69 · 23/01/2009 11:30

Hi, can you help? I want to advertise my childminding vacancies, can I do this on this site, and how?
thanks

coolj · 23/01/2009 14:44

Hi everyone, sorry to hear of all the tales of woe. Life sucks sometimes.

Ive actually had a turn of luck this year. (Last year was a horrible year for our family).

Yesterday I signed up 3 new mindees (hurrah). Thats 6 on my books now. Ive still got space for after schoolies though. Things must be looking up and Ive managed to fit them all round each other.

Skips off merrily, oh yeh, oh yeh, oh yeh.....

SammyK · 23/01/2009 14:58

Grr. mindee who is aggressive and destructive has just shoved 9m old baby over! She banged her head on the laminate

Will be back later. . .

eleanorsmum · 23/01/2009 15:02

hi all

I've got an interview!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!woohoo!

mumlove · 23/01/2009 15:54

EM - I am so pleased for you. When is it? Fingers crossed.

Just had the police forenzic(sp) team here to look at my car and to take prints of the shoe marks.

leo69 · 23/01/2009 18:39

MMM FRIENDLY...

mumlove · 23/01/2009 18:49

leo69 - Hello. Are you feeling ok? I have searched your name and you could cleary make you own threads last june/july.
Please could you take your caps lock off as it is easier to read. Also remember we sometime just post and then go back to read through when we have more time.

leo69 · 23/01/2009 20:54

Like I said ..not very friendly.
I wasn't sure whether I was posting the thread in the right place. Never mind, won't ask for help again

Numberfour · 24/01/2009 10:08

leo69, don't be put off by some unfriendly remarks on these boards. some people kick off for the sake of it - no doubt they have dull and uninteresting lives. I have had a lot of help from particularly the CM boards so don't give up.

i cannot remember where i saw your entries before - was it where you were looking for mindees? sorry, i have 1000 things on my mind at the mo, not least of which whether i am pregnant (and i have not even told the cm board this!!) and my DH who cannot do two things at once: like breathe and make the bed.

OP posts:
mumsanutter · 24/01/2009 11:11

Leo69, Apologises for not replying before now - I haven't had a chance to get back on the pc since yesterday (ds doing his homework etc). You can advertise your vacancy on here in a new post, telling people where you are, what your vacancy is etc

No4 - A very quite congrats, and commiseration for your dh's lack of multitasking skills

A better night was had last night in the mums house, but ds3 thought that 4am was a good time to get up, so still very tired

Numberfour · 24/01/2009 11:23

mums, it's not a certain thing yet. due this week only, everything happened at the right time and a lot of signs are there. nausea, tiredness, slight cramping in very early days, backache now and OH MY F* am i moody cow! But then that could be usual totm.

wasted £18 on tests already......

OP posts:
mumsanutter · 24/01/2009 14:06

I remember a midwife telling me that you can get a false negative, so don't get any more tests for a week and then test again (fingers crossed for you) xx

crace · 24/01/2009 14:15

Early congrats No4.. do let us know! Have you been getting negatives? I agree it could be too early - and the signs are looking good.

DH back mums? Mine is away a lot, so you have my sympathy. He's off to NY for a week in 2 weeks time, but we don't see him during the week out early back late. But I only have three children!

crace · 24/01/2009 14:16

EM!! CONGRATS

Numberfour · 24/01/2009 14:24

thanks, crace.

can i send my DH away too?

Today: what do you need me to do,?he asks. So I say that the following needs to be done: DS's bedroom tidied, dusted, bed made and vacuumed, same for our room, clean bathroom and wash floor, pack clothes away in our room and vacuum landing and stairs.

He looked at me, looked at the pc and carried on doing whatever he had been doing.

Thiry min later he asks for bathroom cleaner. i say it is upstairs. he goes to his van to get tile cleaner, goes up to bathroom and cleans tiles for an hour, says he has to go to Wickes. So off he goes for 20 min. Comes back with steel wool / wire wool and continues doing the tiles.

Since the time he asked me what needs doing, i have done DS's room as above, done our room as above, vacuumed landing, washed basin, and loo, put in a load of washing and moaned like a stuck pig about DS on MN to anyone who cares to read.

And DH: well, he is still cleaning tiles.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

OP posts:
crace · 24/01/2009 14:31

Sounds about right - same in this house. Only today there is no DH - meanwhile I have looked after 3dc, cleaned walls, bathroom, kitchen, floors, laundry - still have the childrens rooms and more laundry to do but I am taking a well deserved break.

When DH comes back it will look like a hurricane came through and this will have been for nothing I call myself resident slave
