Thank God its the end of the week

We are swimming this morning, after which the mindees always sleep for at least a couple of hours, which gives me time to cook dinner, do some paperwork, and of course have quick look in the Staff Room

oh katymac you poor thing!!

elkiedee · 14/11/2008 11:00

Just a parent - am in awe of Shoshe taking all those kids swimming - I found it a major effort to take my ds regularly when I was on maternity leave.

KatyMac · 14/11/2008 11:21

I am feeling very sorry for myself - & I am definitely NOT going swimming

Shoshe · 14/11/2008 11:26

Will excuse Katy as she has the lurgy, but NOT when you are better

See the secret is, take them all swimming, knacker them all out then have two hours off while they sleep it out.

Well mindee and ds are fast asleep after a busy morning at toddlers so thought I'd have another go at doing my SEF. really don't want to but it's got to the point where the worrying about doing it is becoming more painful than just getting on with it, so wish me luck.

I keep thinking about doing swimming, really must give it a try.

mumsanutter · 14/11/2008 13:05

Welcome to the new CM's, and thank you to the parents for your words.

Shoshe - you are incredible, I keep trying to go swimming. First time the pool was closed!!, 2nd time ds4 was ill and 3rd time ds3 was in hospital, so have given it up as a bad idea!!

Katy, please look after yourself, and book yourself an incredible holiday. There are times that the mumsanutters family holiday (April 2009) is about all that keeps me going!!

Hello to everyone else, we have been out and had coffee, and are now relaxing (yeah right) before the next school run. This weekend we are offically in quarenteen and I will make all ill children wear 100 layers so that they sweat their colds out, and I can get some sleep again!!

SammyK · 14/11/2008 13:35

aah. mindee asleep, and ds sat behind me twiddling my hair (his favourite obsessional pastime).

I am looking forward to a family weekend this week, not doing any paperwork or training. {stubborn} Going to play with DS and fill in his form for DLA.

LoveMyGirls · 14/11/2008 13:36

Hi to parents and new childminders

It's nice to know some people think we are fab we try

My mindee's are both asleep and I've just finished cleaning up (I made mindee a mini fry up and he made sooooo much mess, grease and beans everywhere!)

I'm going to WW later (eeeeek) really do need to keep an eye on it though, do not want to find out I've suddenly put a stone of or something! I've been looking at wedding cars and wishing we knew someone with a nice car that we could use instead!

mums - I am looking forward to our honeymoon next yr 2 weeks of pure relaxation, no housework, no children, no cooking omg what will I do?!!

hpgoneforgood · 14/11/2008 13:37

Afternoon everybody and welcome to the new CMs.

Quite enjoyed reading and laughing through 5candles thread (although haven't looked at it since it was first posted)

Have been to our new drop in session for childminders only at our local sure start centre. The set up and equipment is fantastic and my mindees really enjoy going. I am a bit at the toys and resources available.

I have had a mixed week this week, felt very proud that I taught mindee to write name this week and helped mindee to enjoy this acheivement with lots and lots of praise. Also set some christmas magic with my oldest pre schooler, I let mindee help to choose xmas presents for two other mindees, helped me wrap them and then said you need to put them on * bed which mindee did, then we said this little rhyme: Santa clause, santa clause take this away, santa clause santa clause bring it back for on christmas day (Sang to Teddy bear, teddy bear, turn around etc). Mindee went to loo and santa took the presents away, the look on mindees face was an absolute picture when realised they had gone!

The only downside is that I have had lots of problems with one mindees behaviour and today for the first time in 5 yrs of minding I wrote a letter asking for more help as this behaviour is affecting my other mindees.

hpgoneforgood · 14/11/2008 13:40

Wrote a letter to mindees parents.

why growls rhubarb??? HAving a bad day.

I am playing little einsteins with my 3 year old, and we are shaking all of our bodies to make the ship go faster!! Not a nice image to leave for you ladies, but its making him giggle, which is lovely to listen to

AbbaFan · 14/11/2008 14:01

Busy day so far, been to soft-play, done a nursery drop, and me and 1 mindee have made a cake for his mum. Just tidied up etc while he is napping. Then off to pick up from nursery and straight onto the school run - phew!

popperdoodles - Have you been CM'ing long? I need to attempt my SEF, but have heard it's a nightmare - good luck!

KM- , put yer feet up girl.

popperdoodles · 14/11/2008 14:07

Been cm about 3 months. Just done and hour on it and it's ok when you get into it. Not sure I have written what they were asking for. It says don't just list what you do, ok so what do they want then??? Ds just woken up so going to have some quality time with him now and leave SEF for today.

looneytune · 14/11/2008 14:36

Blimey, popped in and noticed 43 posts, will catch up soon. In the meantime, I have a SERIOUS QUESTION over here - I'm very worried about what I should be doing!!!

mumlove · 14/11/2008 16:23

Afternoon to all you busy cm's.

I have had pp to visit this morning, so now waiting to see if they call back.

Everyone going on about cm's being on here but not 1 mention of the 1's that sit and watch tv all day or on the phone to friends etc. But we all know that somewhere this will be happening.

Also I am so of you that can use the loo in peace as my mindees (the 2 yr olds) insist on comming with me and telling me that I have been a good girl and can have a sticker .

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Illhavethisinsize12 · 14/11/2008 17:00

Does anyone want to pick me a holiday?

I have no enthusiasm at all - which sounds really ungrateful & I feel bad about it

southernbelle77 · 14/11/2008 17:58

I'm going on a spa weekend with dh tomorrow and staying in a nice hotel! I CAN'T WAIT! Really need some time out!

coolj · 14/11/2008 18:39

Good evening all Mumsnetters.

I am only just able to come on MN now as I have had a very busy day.

My new mindee is settling very well, very quickly and is now in a lovely routine. My other mindee is showing a wee bit of jealousy which I actually find really endearing and my own DS3 is just pootling along with it all.

I finished slightly earlier today but then had to do nursery run, clear up DPs mess (he has been wallpapering, then gardening (and left his awful mess behind ). After that it was time to do dinner for us all, clearing up and now can actually rest for the first time since 7am. Well that is until 10 mins time when I need to take DS1 to footy training.

Who says we sit MNing all day. Duh

Have a good evening.

looneytune · 14/11/2008 18:45

I was joking about my serious thread by the way, it was a piss take from the other day. Anyway, hope all had a good day
