Shoshe, I can't spell at any time of the day but 5.44 is fine to make a few spelling mistakes.

Coffee thanks - yet another bad night. The antibiotics are kicking in for ds3 so he actually got some sleep, but ds4, he was up and down all night like a yoyo (I was downstairs at 2.30 this am looking at mumsnet!!)

No work today, so another day to look after my beautiful (ill) children, and maybe catch a nap with them

Do you want me to do any work in the staffroom????? Mumsanutter wanders around aimlessly....

Shoshe · 13/11/2008 07:03

You can come work for me if you want, bloody Insomnia has kicked in again!

Actually, you could Risk Assess outside for any debris left from last nights fight off

You may well find bits of Marla splattered everywhere.

If you find all over her, be a love and do a Blue Peter on her and put her back together, plenty of sticky back plastic in the Art cupboard.

morning

dont mind me. grumpiness has set in. 5 year old mindee just vomited in my toy box. knowing he was going to be sick, he went behind the curtain, leaned over the toy box and let rip. not sickness, just playing around too much and his breakfast came up. did i mention it was all over the toys?

when he started, i said go to the kitchen. told him twice. he does have a sensitive stomach and this happens fairly often so he should know? or am i expecting too much of him?

he walked past me, hid behind the curtain. do you know where he landed up being sick. in the toy box. full toy box.

Shoshe · 13/11/2008 07:38

Oh dear Four just what you need first thing in the morning.

Is this a common occurrence?

Maybe have a word with his Parents about it?

Mumsanutter donnes (?spelling) a jumper and coat before venturing outside - oh there is a bit of a mess.

Better tidy it up and make safe before the little ones arrive, black bin bags, vinyl gloves (mums allergic to latex), and start cleaning. Any bits of Marla are arranged nicely (hopefully correctly - apologies if anythings in the wrong place!), here comes the upva glue and sticky back plastic - lets hope that that holds!!! Mums wonders around making sure that everything is back to normal - why are there always so many wine bottles left after a gathering

Mums wanders (into wandering tday!) and has a nice strong coffee to warm up.

Insomnia is not nice, I'm not sleeping particularly well myself, dh away, dc ill and mums found a lump in her breast and is waiting for a hosp appt, so thats playing on my mind as well!!!

mumsanutter · 13/11/2008 07:43

No 4, so sorry to hear about the toy box - I take it that he didn't want to play with any of them today??

He should of listened though, even my 3 year old knows that if he is going to be sick to try to get to the downstairs toilet! Doesn't usually get there but at least hes away from the toys and over easy to clean flooring!

I agree with shoshe that you should talk to the parents.

NumberFour · 13/11/2008 07:43

Shoshe, mum does know. might even add that she panders to it? if mindee gets very upset and tantrummy (elastic use of language!) he can very easily be sick. even make himself sick. today he and DS were playing around being silly and cute and laughing etc. i should have known and made them sit still. it crossed my mind but i thought again that it was harmless fun.

mumsanutter: hope your kids get better soon.

sorry it is all me me me me again this am.

off to fix the hair and face.

mumlove · 13/11/2008 08:23

Morning everyone.

I was reading that thread last night but didn't reply as I might not have stopped!

Anyway who took my lovely sunshine? Back to horrible grey skies again .

Off to take DD to school will be back to help tidy up.

crace · 13/11/2008 08:37

(notes the time, and checks on who is ignoring their mindees)

Morning you lot! Just popping in to say hello. I am pretty excited, I posted advertising for January for my ONE place but I am really looking forward to starting again.

KatyMac · 13/11/2008 08:46

Hi all can we help someone in Bolton? here

mumlove · 13/11/2008 09:08

Yes I am here ignoring all my house work, paper work and getting the tea sorted as I want to warm up after the school run.

I still have no mindees yet on thursday or friday but have another PP comming to visit tomorrow morning. It would be nice if someone would just let me know if they want to start in January.

SammyK · 13/11/2008 09:25

Hello everyone.

sorry some of you are having bad mornings.

Number4 - that toybox situation is gross I hate cleaningup sick. I agree with other posters that he i more than old enough to know better, my DS mastered aiming for clear laminate or the loo aged 3, it's not hard, and it does sound like he did it deliberately!! You have my sympathies.

waiting for mindee to arrive, and having a cuppa

Booh · 13/11/2008 09:26

Can I join you all today

I am losing my childminding mojo a bit..........

I have loads of choccie cake as every one around me is on a pre xmas diet

PinkChick · 13/11/2008 09:43

Hi All, sorry it seems its a bad morning with sickness and poorlyness.
Mumsanutter, the appointment will prob take about 6 weeks to come through, mine ddid, i then had a series of visits to monitor it (i got messed about with seeing diff consultants, so get your mum to request she sees same person ALL the time as they vary in what they 'prefer' to do!)..will be thinking about her and you.x

well i have a prob, am going to starta thread too, but this mindee who bit yesterday, mum has decided to now keep a diary of things he does/says..shes writing things down that have stuck in her memory months ago too...one of which is when mindee was getting his shoes on as mum appeared at (open) door and suddenly he started crying said "pinks just punched me"!!!!!!!!!!!!..thankfully mum was stood there at time and told him off!, he does have an overly active imagination and asys some awful things sometimes, but am now thinking it might be a good idea to start a 'behavior' diary of my own on him including these things he said about me to make sure i can show anyone the things he says/does?

PinkChick · 13/11/2008 09:44

oh and what thread kicked of yesterday??

mumsanutter · 13/11/2008 09:50

Pink, thanks for the concern (its me that has found the lump - my mum passed away 24 years ago from breast cancer!!). I keep a daily diary for me, as well as doing the childrens, and I not any areas for concern in here using initials etc to try and maintain a little confidentiallity.

Not working, so cuddleing ds4 on sofa to try and encourage a sleep! Not working at the mo though!

PinkChick · 13/11/2008 09:56

aw sorry chick, when you said 'mums'...are you ok?, i would remind them of your mum and explain you want the first appointment available and pester them until they give you one!
am thinking of you chick.x

mumsanutter · 13/11/2008 10:03

Thanks pink, I just wrote mums as couldn't be bothered to type mumsanutter!! Only thing about changing my 'name' is that it is now longer!! I made my doctor aware of family history etc and he marked the paperwork as urgent, but as usual its now just a waiting game! Doc told me to chase if not heard anything in 2 weeks! The thread was about childminders being on the internet during the day while minding!

Morning Booh, can't do much for your mojo, but say welcome and enjoy (its not usually as made as last night!!)

PinkChick · 13/11/2008 10:31

well hope you get through evry soon then chick!

LOL at the thread there was one a while back as well..EVERYONE felt the need to PROVE why they were here/where the children where/if they were working today!!!....as if we dont get anough hassle!

My computer is on nearly all day, we pirnt off pics, play on cbebies sometimes, go on DTLK for printable etc and i can see if ive received any emails or check on ehre if its quiet/children asleep/at school and nursery...also at times like this, Mindee is here with me as ive just had to write out incident report out from yesterday to ensure its read by mum and signed tonight, has took me 5 mins max and now off to play with our playdoh! before lunch, nursery pick up, diff nursery drop off, singing group, fruit shopping and back to school for 3..let them do our jobs for 1 day i say then let them have a go!..i had 7 yesterday!7 children..would love to see them manage that as well as i do

mumsanutter · 13/11/2008 10:36

I agree with you Pink.

The op started another thread in Chat and kept bringing up that I had said that I let the children use the internet - I didn't say this I said that they playe don Webkinz, which yes is on the internet, but is extremely secure etc. Am I wrong to let the children play on this then? Do I need a policy? The laptop is set on family security setting and dh has set up a system that I can watch what they are doing on the lap top from my pc (winx or something). God shes got me questioning my own abilities now , I'm not working at mo mindee ill, so sitting with 2 ill dc and having cuddles while typing - is this wrong as well?

PinkChick · 13/11/2008 10:38

not at all chick, dont let people make you doubt yourself!

my mindes love nickjr or cbeebies as a treat, we use dtlk all the time and they chosoe what printables they want!..is it still in chat then?, ill ahve a read through tonight! and put my two peneth inLOL

leonifay · 13/11/2008 10:45

pmsl at last nights threads, some people really need to get a life!!

mumnosbest · 13/11/2008 10:48

Hi all!
Not been on for a few days, RL has been keeping me busy for a while. My DD has just started walking and I forgot what hard work that is!
Sounds like some of you are feeling a bit down, so I've come bearing muffins anf coffee, an extra one for mumsanutter (sorry and hope things turn out well for you) and also for anyone who was up early with Shoshe (wont mention my lie in till 9 this morning!)

By the way if anyone can help I've started a thread on taking on a mindee that restricts how many others I can take?
