I think the convertable bit is better because it changes the shape

What would Dee like to discuss?

And see if we can oblige

RTKM: work (if you can call it that) from home. Have taken time off to do building work on the house, did an extensive redesign the garden (it's come out super nice, only needs lavish planting now) and develop some 'smarthome' systems - bits and bobs for intelligent buildings / home automation / etc.

Contemplating launching business in smarthome space, else PhD in smarthome applications for particular client groups (assisted living, people with health problems (weight / blood pressure, babies (reassuring sleep disturbances, early learning etc.). And if I don't do either of those, a venture philanthropy business to do with collection of change from transactions at retail POS (tills) for charity / disaster relief.

hub2dee · 11/02/2005 18:20

Saabs come from their mummy's tummies, RTKM. Doesn't everyone know that ?

deeofhub... I like that!

Thanks for the congrats. It is exciting. I am becoming a pram / nappy bore... Oh, and dw hasn't puked in 1 1/2 weeks so maybe I can finally stop being so darned nice.

Thanks for all the congrats.

There are several babies around, yes. My close mate had a ds a couple of months ago now. A cousin of dw is preg about to pop in next couple of weeks (coming for dinner in 10 mins). DW's cousin / friend of family just popped yesterday (but abroad).

Thing is, we're all first timers, and so many people here have so much useful experience.

RTKM: remember jazzybee ? He is another close friend of mine. He's got two lovely kids, but did the whole baby thing a good few years ago (married much younger than me).

Smarthome is fun, but I've developed so much stuff from scratch (with a programmer) that the house can be a bit unpredictable which gets dw a little wound up every now and then. It'll all be worth it in the end though... I hope

hub2dee · 11/02/2005 19:35

Have set vid. Thanks RTKM.

PS - What does 'Kanga' refer to ? Is it the name of one of your kids, or do you have an Aus connection ? Or sommit else ?

RTKangaMummy · 11/02/2005 19:36

OP posts:
hub2dee · 12/02/2005 11:25

jazzybee only came on when I pointed out a car thread. I'll send him an e-mail if I see anything else he can help with. I don't think his dw is on here, but will mention it to her.

Will also see if I can get dw to venture online.

Is Kangaroo cuddles about sling carrying ?

RTKangaMummy · 12/02/2005 13:20

kangaroo cuddles are for prem babies for skin to skin cuddles

They are still attatched to CPAP or ventilator and all other wires etc

OP posts:
hub2dee · 12/02/2005 16:25

Must have been a worrying time, I'm sure those cuddles were esp. valued (by all three of you !)

RTKangaMummy · 12/02/2005 19:09

yes they are very special

Hi RTKM,

Just wondering if you 'watch' this thread... anyway, just felt like saying I couldn't believe some of the stuff I was reading in the last few hours, but didn't want to post... Can't believe some people, eh ?....

Also, sorry to learn about your DT and the upset around birthdays. Guess events, such as today's news, must be especially upsetting.

(Not being flippant) I hope the great shows on tonight's telly distract you and make you smile.

Couldn't get dw to venture online, but will keep trying. I think she'll break soon - just had 16 weeks mw and consultant appointment, and everything is looking great, so I'm sure she'll settle down, relax a bit, and want to chat with other MNers soon.

RTKangaMummy · 23/02/2005 17:41

Hi hub2dee

Thanks for your kind thoughts

Yes TV does take my mind off the things here sometimes

Thanks also for your comment about me hugging my bonnet.

OP posts:
RTKangaMummy · 23/02/2005 17:46

Mumsnet does get like that sometimes

Some people, I try very hard to avoid but sometimes when others are upset by posts I just get too emotional and get involved.

RTKangaMummy · 23/02/2005 17:52

Has she felt kicks yet?

Have you managed to feel them yet?

Or have you just kept missing them
