I am going away for a week without my DH. Not very good but the ways things are due to his working away a lot. I want to take someone to help me with DS1 and 2 ( 3 and 1) .. anyone do this or done it ? Where do I look?

Yeah, I've already confessed the error of my way in the nannytax quote.

But, that's okay because I think EVERYONE should have the pleasure of employing domestic help.

I wonder why people find it easier to pay cash in hand... I mean I really just can't figure it out.

Jura - what's the IR35 loophole?

I just told the tax office I was self-employed and they sent me a letter saying I was. I did it because I don't work permanently (can't, I'm a student!)

athene, people find it easier because most of these dont know anything about how the taxing is done and dont want to know. plus they feel they dont want to pay money to inland revenue or who ever on top of their nanny wages.. or some people just like to cheat out of principle.

AtheneNoctua · 19/06/2008 13:19

But, don't you think it's a bit much to hire someone to go on holiday with you for a week? And I'm not condoning it.

I'm not talking about people who have long term nannies.

frannikin · 20/06/2008 22:40

I think I just told them that I was a student and temped for different families in my school holidays. They asked me if I could choose whether I worked or not, which I can, as long as it's agreed in advance.

I have done a few holidays with people who i used to babysit for

(the past for years i have usedup 2 weeks of my choice holiday to go away with them on cruises .... and LOVED every minute!)

I'm also looking for someone to look after my DS (3) and DD (1.5) while I attend a summer course in beautiful South Devon for the last two weeks of August.. might anybody (frannikin, juneybean) who expressed interest in going to france be interested in South Devon instead?!

FourArms · 24/06/2008 21:03

Algieash - can you be more specific about where in South Devon? Anywhere near Plymouth? Live in or out? Monday-Friday?

algieash · 24/06/2008 21:10

FourArms (and anyone else interested!) I'm going to Dartington Summer School (near Totnes) and will have space for live-in, but equally happy if local for live-out. Would need 7 days a week for 2.5 weeks in August, with a lot of flex on hours as schedule may vary over the Course.

FourArms · 24/06/2008 21:11

Do you have a contact email, or shall I CAT you?
