Horrifying experience with bubble app - please share!

The founder of this app is a nightmare and does everything to stop me from sharing my experience, he keeps taking my reviews off Trustpilot so I am sharing this here...

I used to be a babysitter on bubble but had a horrifying experience with their team. I was not happy with the very high fees they are charging us sitters, as I realised that we essentially pay a lot more than parents do. This is not fair to us.

I contacted the team to tell them about it and suggested a change, however the owner itself came back to me and you wouldn't believe it: He only met me with aggression in his email! I was absolutely shocked to be spoken to in this way from the owner. It is like he does not care about its members at all. He wrote very aggressive things, essentially saying that his app is the best and if I don't like it, I can go somewhere else. Wow.

Then the worst: I found out that I got THROWN off the platform. I emailed the team again asking why, even though it was obvious. I asked if we get thrown off the platform for reaching out to share our feedback? I never received a reply…

Furthermore, I left a one star review on Trustpilot, but was told by Trustpilot itself that the founder of bubble asked to take off my review because apparently it’s “not genuine”. I am now doubting in the credibility of Trustpilot themselves. That’s why I am now here sharing my experience because I deserve to have my voice heard.

I urge you - PLEASE don't support this terrible app - you can find much better paid work elsewhere. I know this too well since I have been working as a nanny for over 12 years. It's really not good to be supporting a business that treats members this way, and only we have the power to stop this.

On the basis this owner had the good sense to kick you off the platform…. I’m 100% going to sign up!!

soupyspoon · 16/03/2025 15:44

What is the cost of it, is it a percentage. I dont know the app

Ketchupbroc · 16/03/2025 15:45

“horrifying”

i dread to think what you’d be like in a crisis whilst caring for a child OP!

MrsBungle · 16/03/2025 15:47

What was the horrifying experience?!

CatsorDogsrule · 16/03/2025 15:51

How did he force you to sign up to his App with the terms and conditions you agreed to?

There's nothing to go on from what you've written in the OP, so it is hard to know who is the unreasonable party.

Goinggold · 16/03/2025 15:54

This is hilarious! What was horrifying?

So you actually think it’s fair being spoken to rudely and thrown off just for sharing valuable feedback? I feel very concerned.

Nowhere in the terms and conditions does it say that we aren’t allowed to share valuable feedback with the team. Is that what you expected? Being taken off the platform for sharing feedback?

Well, I wouldn’t either because I only work for people who treat me with respect and kindness.

well you don’t work for anyone atm I’m guessing?

good luck op in your job hunt

id stop getting hysterical at this and focus on other avenues for getting a job

CatsorDogsrule · 16/03/2025 16:26

As you won't share any details we don't know what your feedback consisted of to elicit a "rude" response, terminating your business relationship. Maybe you were rude initially and the response was simply strongly worded - we only have your interpretation of both.

Your feedback sounds pointless and you're being unnecessarily hysterical.

You signed up to an app, agreed to the terms, then gave 'valuable feedback' that you didn't like the terms you'd just agreed to.

🤷🏻‍♂️

Also you seem to have forgotten to tell us what the 'horrifying' part of this experience was.

Paradoxically my post is written in a way kinder way than your replies… which clearly shows my professionalism yet I cannot believe how you can think it is ok to be rude to me and then call me rude for no reason. Wow!

Interesting assumption on me not working for anyone. My experience with this app was already a while ago and I don’t need it anymore, I have since built a thriving career as a well respected nanny and early years educator with over 12 years experience.

I don’t know why you didn’t understand what the horrifying experience was. It was being spoken to very aggressively by the founder. Being treated this way and thrown off the platform for sharing valuable customer feedback, which is valuable to every business out there since it’s us who allow the business to exist.

It's really disturbing when you realise Trustpilot is completely untrustworthy and any business owner can just get reviews removed as and when by their own request. The same thing happened to me with a car buying company who screwed me over and it really upset me because this is supposed to be a verified and independent platform to post reviews and it's not at all.

I can't comment on the rest because I don't know enough about it (never heard of Bubble, I use Childcare.co.uk for all my childcare needs).

RedHelenB · 16/03/2025 16:52

Can you give an example of what the aggressive post was?

Thank you for your message. Being absolutely shocked by the previous replies by others, I appreciate you for replying with respect and understanding.

Interesting to hear about your bad experience with Trustpilot. It really is disturbing to find out how easy it is for companies to take off the reviews. It made me trust them a lot less now. The apple app reviews clearly don’t allow that because you’ll find lots of negative 1 star reviews for bubble on there. I am so glad!
Childcare.co.uk is fantastic and doesn’t even come close to bubble, so I am glad you are using it. I used to find some of my best jobs with wonderful families on there!

Urgh why are people insisting on continuing to use the word hysterical?

RedHelenB · 16/03/2025 16:52

Can you give an example of what the aggressive post was?

Basically, the founder said to me that his app is the best out there, they don’t charge nannies any fees (which is clearly a lie because they charge 25%), and that if there was something better out there, I can just be using that. And worst of all was being taken off the platform. For sharing my feedback…?

OP posts:
SwanOfThoseThings · 16/03/2025 16:59

25% of your fee is shocking. Hopefully more sitters will vote with their feet and find another platform.

Thank you for your support. There are many way better options out there. I made a thriving career off the platform, yet on bubble I was barely surviving. That’s why I am posting on here for everyone to know how much nannies are being exploited on there.
Besides of course the worst customer service that you can imagine, as I explained in my post. This really is unacceptable.
