Horrifying experience with bubble app - please share!

The founder of this app is a nightmare and does everything to stop me from sharing my experience, he keeps taking my reviews off Trustpilot so I am sharing this here...

I used to be a babysitter on bubble but had a horrifying experience with their team. I was not happy with the very high fees they are charging us sitters, as I realised that we essentially pay a lot more than parents do. This is not fair to us.

I contacted the team to tell them about it and suggested a change, however the owner itself came back to me and you wouldn't believe it: He only met me with aggression in his email! I was absolutely shocked to be spoken to in this way from the owner. It is like he does not care about its members at all. He wrote very aggressive things, essentially saying that his app is the best and if I don't like it, I can go somewhere else. Wow.

Then the worst: I found out that I got THROWN off the platform. I emailed the team again asking why, even though it was obvious. I asked if we get thrown off the platform for reaching out to share our feedback? I never received a reply…

Furthermore, I left a one star review on Trustpilot, but was told by Trustpilot itself that the founder of bubble asked to take off my review because apparently it’s “not genuine”. I am now doubting in the credibility of Trustpilot themselves. That’s why I am now here sharing my experience because I deserve to have my voice heard.

I urge you - PLEASE don't support this terrible app - you can find much better paid work elsewhere. I know this too well since I have been working as a nanny for over 12 years. It's really not good to be supporting a business that treats members this way, and only we have the power to stop this.

You’re working via a third party, of course they pay a cut. It’s the same as being with an agency.
Bubble is so popular due to the ease of use with the app, the fact that parents can contact bubble and that the providers are checked and vetted. That obviously comes with a cost.

What OP is saying is that she's not been asked to babysit by the same parents again and so she never gets the benefit of the lower rate.

Its not the app’s fault that no parents ever want to use OP again.
The app’s aim is clearly to facilitate regular, trusted childcare. For whatever reason the parents using the OP don’t feel that.

No, it does not. If you read my post correctly, you would have understood the point.
The point here is not the fees. The whole point of my post is only to inform about the owner’s inappropriate reaction to a customer’s feedback. A sensible owner will take a customer’s feedback on board in a neutral, kind way, no matter what the feedback is (as long as the customer is expressing it in a kind way which I have). Unfortunately the owner didn’t do this and the whole point is to inform others about it.

No they don’t have to take your feedback on board.
They run a business that works and creates an income while also maintaining a name for itself. Why would they take the opinion on board from some random person who doesn’t even have repeated bookings on their platform?

A company will not bend their t&c to suit you. It's up to you to decide if you accept them or not.

repellingmnvipers · 17/03/2025 09:10

But you're not a customer? You're someone who signed up to do work? So you expect a ceo to take on all feedback and lower the fees because of your email? How much power did you think you had to influence such a significant change to a business model of a company you don't own or have a stake in?

"Basically, the founder said to me that his app is the best out there, they don’t charge nannies any fees (which is clearly a lie because they charge 25%), and that if there was something better out there, I can just be using that. And worst of all was being taken off the platform. For sharing my feedback…?"

Please carry on enjoying yourself on this thread! ;) I will no longer engage in this conversation because I have chosen to only speak to people who treat others with respect and kindness which is clearly not happening here. I have more valuable things to do in my life.
You will likely find way more hateful things to say, so please do! I feel very sorry for you having such a strong need to be hateful to others, and genuinely hope for you to heal that part of you one day 🙏

I imagine he got your review removed from Trustpilot on the grounds that you were not actually a customer, but a disgruntled ex-contractor.

bluegreygreen · 17/03/2025 10:05

@Kateeeeeeee have you given any thought to your use of the word 'horrifying'?

Hoppinggreen · 17/03/2025 10:05

Well exactly , you aren't a customer you are a supplier so you can't leave a review as if you were.
If your review was as dramatic as your OP I don't blame the owner for removing them

I am not being hateful, I am just confused that you thought you can influence the CEO's business.

you sound quite hysterical op

I wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving my child under your sole care

And you sound quite misogynistic, labelling women hysterical for daring to get angry about something.

We don't know OP's sex though and I would use hysterical to describe both sexes if they were behaving like this

TaraRhu · 17/03/2025 19:46

Why didn't you just do what all sensible people do.... you use bubble to get some clients. You then cut the app out and get their numbers direct. Get paid cash.

ChocolatesAndRainbows · 18/03/2025 21:43

I won't use bubble as they charge the nannys. Not worth it.

Burntt · 19/03/2025 17:41

I agree bubble it terrible. I got very few sits and then no repeat sits.

childcare.co.uk is by far the best. Much more work on there, the families seem to treat you like a human more (although not all of them!). Repeat business so it does feel like the la king repeat business is bubble bit the person in my case. Gold membership comes with your insurance, lots of free training. You also upload your documents and ofsted reg so parents can be confident you are sort of vetted
