Only one mindee and dd today. Off to a 'playhouse' thing with mil and nephew too this morning. The sun is shining right now, but by the looks of the weather forecast it is going to be rather wet later!

LoveMyGirls · 14/04/2008 13:24

please can anyone help me with this?

Look at you turning 30! 30 is supposed to be a magic age where you are at your strongest, I've always (well since i was about 21) envied women in their 30's, they've been around long enough to know what the want and how to get it! No cake for me thanks EM I've lost nearly 2 stone since Jan and i'm not being naughty until i've got to my goal weight when I will be treating myself to a big slab of choc cake!!

Hi ML we've been to group today too, it was a new one, I love going to new groups now and again just to shake things up a bit

i All..am of today so me, d and my mum have been to buy out every single toy related to Hannah Montana for dd's birthday!...nana goes mad, i had to keep shouting at her to out things back( like a million teddies of which we flung a huge bag full of out last thursday!), dd got her 'orange'(?) hannah motana t-shirt to wear for her party, then mum went and bought her some cropped jeams and a pretty white top for after the fun house bit..then we went to pizza hut, dd ate ALL her pizza AND some wedges which was really a big thing!!!, so she ahd an icecream after and couldnt eat it all..me and mum had the buffet and went back..a second time...i feel soooooooooooooo sick..but had a lovely day, now mum is doing craft stuff with dd while i donwload some songs for her new(birthday) MP3 player, then got to drop mum off and pick dp up!..only got one mindee tomorrow, two on wed and 4 thursday then off fri for dd's birthday!

MaureenMLove · 14/04/2008 17:58

Hellooooo! Jeez, packed in here isn't it?

Now then, any of you lot still use that old entertainment system called a video recorder?

I've spent all last piggin' week listing loads of Disney classics on Ebay, because DH insisted and of the 17 I've got, I sold 3!

If you want any of them, they are yours.

I'm not listing them on here, until some asks and they are going to charity on Friday, unless I hear otherwise - got it!

dmo · 14/04/2008 18:10

southernbelle77 · 14/04/2008 18:15

Ooh Happy Birthday EM! I had my 30th this year too, in February.

Had a good day today. Went out this morning and had a nice time. Then came home for lunch and then took them into town and on the Big Ferris Wheel that is currently dominating our town centre!! They loved it, I was slight more scared and realised that heights and me aren't great friends!!

Just me and dd now as mindee gone home and dh gone to Canada for the week

southernbelle77 · 14/04/2008 18:16

Oh yeah, and does anywhere know a good place to buy sticklebricks from? At the moment it will probably be ebay (new as the thought of what could have got infested inside used ones doesn't bear thinking about!! ) but if anyone has any good suggestions they are most welcome!!

MaureenMLove · 14/04/2008 18:20

Damn it! My Sticle Bricks went last week! And they weren't infested either, because I put them through the dishwasher once a month! Can't have precious mindees cross contaminating can we!

Good point tho, second hand ones on E-bay could be sterilised through your dishwasher.

shoshe · 14/04/2008 18:30

sb ive bought second hand ones just bung them in the dishwasher, ot in a pillowcase on a hotwash in the washing machine, I got a big crrier full of them for a fiver at a car boot, bit mucky but came up like new.

southernbelle77 · 14/04/2008 18:36

Oh that's a good idea! Didn't think of that!
Back to ebay it is then!
Knew you were the right people to ask!!
Saw some multicultral sticklebrick people on ebay which looked cool so might invest in them! DD and mindees would love them, not to mention OFSTED!!!

nannynick · 14/04/2008 20:00

hi all, posting without reading the messages preceding this one, sorry

Back at work today, no probs with my boss over me resigning. So hopefully I will not have a restless night worrying about it. Went to the beach today (the tide was in!) but the children liked it anyway and collected a bucket load of stones and shells, plus some seaweed.

nannynick · 14/04/2008 20:08

Happy Birthday EM... several years since I was 30.

Can sticklebricks be put in dishwasher? Expect they could be, in a net, on a wash cycle which wasn't too hot. I remember from my playgroup days putting sticklebricks in bowls full of hot water with Milton in, to sterilise them.

mckenna83 · 14/04/2008 20:47

hi every 1 I am going to be inspected on friday or monday, at 10am but will only have the children till around 1pm and then will drop them of at home. Will the inspector stay all day or till i drop the childern off at home ,also the children are not perminant as thay come as and when the parents need me to look after them have only been childminding for about 3 months so any advice will do thanks

nannynick · 14/04/2008 21:15

I would expect that the inspector may stay an hour or so. Can't imagine them staying all that long. When they arrive, tell them about anything you need to do, so they know that they need to be out of your hair by then.
Children not being permanent should not be an issue, inspector will I expect be more interested in your policys, other paperwork (certificate, posters displayed for example), home safety, check your register (sign-in/out book).
