Kay comes in and picks up all the shiny easter foil, ticks the kettle on and opens the windows.

Morning!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mumlove · 25/03/2008 07:54

OOps, I thought I had colleceted all the shiny foil and put it in the craft box. Some people must have been in here after I left!

Morning everyone, did you all have a great easter? Shame about the weather being dull and wet but we did manage to get out a few times.

shoshe · 25/03/2008 07:54

Staggers in looking slightly green with all the chocolate that she has eaten

Am waiting for Tori32 to have that baby, slight contractions last night, all set to go get her DD, and what happens, it all stops, has she no consideration for a old lady's nerves

I am going to walk her EVERYWHERE today, including the extreamly steep hill we have. (well am going to send her up it, while I wait at the bottom with the mindees, I am NOT pushing a double buggy up there

eleanorsmum · 25/03/2008 08:05

morning! bit warmer here today after chilly old weekend. DH did manage to get some garden lanscaping done on fri which i was very pleased about. he was out there in the hail at one point 'now i've started i just want to finish this bit' where'd my dh go? thats not him at all! anyway another weekend and the sleepers should all be in then we can sew somw grass seeds!

missed my easier monday - am into full whack by 8.30! off to toddlers this pm which will be fun! dd very confused as to why today is tuesday and not monday 'because daddy was home yesterday!' bless, she's got ballet today but is not convinced!

hope you all had good easter, chocs away!

MaureenMLove · 25/03/2008 08:06

Morning lovely ladies! Plaster baby has decided she wants to walk everywhere today. However, she can't do it unaided! Its gonna be a long day! DH is off all week, but hey at least its Tuesday already! Plaster baby's mum went to visit a cm over the road from me last week, baby spent the entire time shouting for my dh, out of the window!

mumlove · 25/03/2008 08:12

2 of my mindees have arrived, now we just need to wait for the baby to arrive (about 9.30) them we can hopefully go to the park. 2 mindees are termtime only and it still seems strange for them not to be here.
Were on 2 weeks easter hols now and all the toddler groups are shut!

crace · 25/03/2008 08:16

Oh, Fingers crossed for Tori!! I am a bit chocolate-d out too, blerch.

Hi ML and EM and Mo!

My Dh is off today and tomorrow and I am very jealous! Not so jealous as he is replacing the roof on our kitchen that is leaking, but I am very impressed with him!

I think I have grown over the weekend, bump is MAHOOSIVE. Off to see a preschool for dd today with mindee in tow (yes yes permission blah blah) and then ds is off to secondary for a non verbal testing they do with new entries. Gulp.

crace · 25/03/2008 10:48

Where is everyone! Busy after holiday weekend?

Just back from preschool visit - we liked it, a lot and dd is now signed up starting September but not eligible for government scheme until January. She loved it and didn't want to leave which is a . I would have thought she'd go mental being left somewhere but I think by the time Sept comes around she will be dying to get out to it.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 25/03/2008 10:50

Hi all

Just 1 mindee for a fortnight, he'll be here in a bit

Kay - thanks for tidying !
ML - Where are you ? we are not on easter hols til 7th April
Shoshe - Keep any eye on that Tori
EM - glad the gardening is done, hail or no hail lol
Mo - hope dd hand better
Crace - how far along are you now? I've lost track

shoshe · 25/03/2008 10:51

Well the walking didnt do anything I wonder if the 4 doughnuts and a cream cake will do anything !

crace · 25/03/2008 10:53

Hi Boys! I wouldn't expect you lot to remember! ( sad as no one remembers lol). Am having baby evicted 23rd of May, just gone 30 weeks. AND HUGE

Shoshe, you didn't have her run?!

BoysAreLikeDogs · 25/03/2008 10:53

Mmmmm donuts

shoshe · 25/03/2008 10:56

No dont think she would be able to run, I have never seen anybody soooooooooooooooo HUGE, (I'm gonna be surragote granny)

dmo · 25/03/2008 11:18

hi guys
had too much wine and chocolate over the weekend but did do loads of digging in the garden and painted the kitchen.
omg crace 30 wks thats gone fast (well for us lot anyway )

MaureenMLove · 25/03/2008 11:46

Baby has been asleep for an hour and so I thought I'd just ring for a skip and get dh to rid the garden of the rubbish from the weekend. Do it now, I thought, then it doesn't hang around for weeks. Not that easy. I have phoned 11 skip hire companies, 8 of them, the number was dead, 2 haven't got any til next week and the cheapest cost is £95+VAT for a 2 yard skip! Even the council take a bloody week to come out just to do an estimate! May have to borrow a trailer from somewhere! 'Ohhhhh, Kbear!!!!!!'

What a waste of an hour, it's nearly lunch time now!

mumlove · 25/03/2008 12:02

Boys - I am in Dorset on the south coast, not to far away from the very expensive houses near the beach.
Ours go back to school on 7th April.

Shoshe - Are yours on school hols?

Well we have managed a run around at the park, just put DD and 2 mindees in the garden while I see to the baby.

badgerhead · 25/03/2008 12:10

Hi everyone, I don't usually come into the staff room, so just thought I would pop in for a change.
Our schools don't break up until the 4th April so everyone was back to school & nursery etc today. Have been to childminder drop in this morning & just going to get lunch ready.
I hope the weather improves for those on holiday now & that it gets even better for us lol! btw I'm in West Sussex.

shoshe · 25/03/2008 12:15

Yep mumlove on holidays, but today have one 5 year old and one baby, and a very fat lady sat on my couch , so not gone far, we went to the bookshop in town and bought some new hard books as most of mine seem to be falling apart.

2 year old back in tomorrow as well, but again wont go far as potty training is in progress, only had two accidents over the weekend, so doing well.

dmo · 25/03/2008 12:49

our children are in school this week they break up in two weeks (barmy)

BoysAreLikeDogs · 25/03/2008 12:54

Well mindee has had a lovley time zooming around the garden, we had picnic lunch and now he has crashed out. Awww

DMO - barmy here too, stupid school terms chunter chunter

Hi Badger, good to see you.

Mo I am at the cost of skips [not the yummy ones lol]

Right I'm off to have quick squizz at the boards

See ya later

nannynick · 25/03/2008 13:41

Can I hide this question in the Staff Room for now?
With internet forums, we chat to each other like we would to a friend we invited over for coffee. We tell our friends our problems, discuss things, bounce ideas off each other.

But, in doing this, we run the risk of breaching client confidentiality agreements, as we may be discussing an issue we are having with a particular child or family.

Is there any soluition to that? While I don't think any of us would put name, address, names of children, type details online... the parents (or in the case of a nanny, their employer) could read a message posted on Mumsnet, or any other forum, and recognise themselves in that message. Example

When you need someone to talk with about an issue you are having... if you don't have a close group of friends for whom you have e-mail address/phone numbers... do you post your issue on Mumsnet? When that does happen, are you breaching confidentiality, or not?

Anyone got any views?

BoysAreLikeDogs · 25/03/2008 13:45

I don't think that we are breaching confidentiality because of the anonymity, Nick.

Would be very very hard I assume to extract from MNHQ the details of the person posting the qs, so hard to prove a breach IYSWIM.

nannynick · 25/03/2008 13:48

True for some people, but not for others. For example, it is easy to find out who I am in RL. Searching my posts and viewing my profile will reveal my website address for example. This would also be the case for childminders on here, who have advertised vacancies... as those posts will include some kind of contact detail.
Good thing we have a NameChange facility so we can post without being as easily identified.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 25/03/2008 13:49

PS are you posting on your new phone ????

nannynick · 25/03/2008 14:02

Laptop connected to my phone, much faster to type using big keyboard than phone keypad

crace · 25/03/2008 16:10

It's true of you in particular Nick I think to be traced back, if the family happen to be on MN unfortunately. Namechange seems the likely way around that. I do agree however, that because of the nature of our work we are isolated and don't have colleagues to bounce things off of and this "staff room" is a great place for that...

Tough one
