Easy day today only one until 1pm though it makes up for the other four days when I work until 6pm so I love my Tuesdays now.

Taking a nap is all I have on the cards this afternoon if dd will agree!

shoshe · 18/03/2008 09:02

ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

shoshe · 18/03/2008 09:07

I am never never never EVER having two boys of 15/16 months again, they think it is OH SO FUNNY to stand and shriek at each other then burst out laughing!!!!!!!

24 month old girl, then bosses them, till they shriek again.

Im going to scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ARRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

THats better, going to soft play now, they can scream as much as they want there, I wont care, gonna put ear plugs in. [ puts on a I dont care face]

KaySamuels · 18/03/2008 09:16

rofl shoshe hopefully will get it out their systems at soft play!

She is doing ok my ss mindee, am filling her up on fruit and toast, and big balanced melas with puds.

I wanted to be a social worker when I left school but dropped out of the course when I realised I was too soft and would find it too hard! The aim is always wherever possible that they go back to their families. I know from personal experience that this isn't always the best place for them.

mumlove · 18/03/2008 10:08

Morning everyone,
It's so cold here, even though the sun is lovely and bright so we are going to wrap up warm and go to the park (no music tots today).

looneytune · 18/03/2008 10:23

Morning all. Got back from Dr's and tiny baby's mum called to say she's not coming today and taking baby to Dr's to check over her chest, poor baby, hope she's ok. Sooooo, means I'm child free til after school

Trying to decide what to do. I really need to pop into childminder drop in to drop off the keys from yesterday's toddler group so may stay for a coffee then maybe come home and do some big sorting out - much needed!

Hope all the others who have colds feel better soon. It's starting to drive my dh mad with all the snoring and then he prods me to stop the noise That, baby waking me up every 3 hours and ds deciding it's time to get up at 6am is driving me mad!!!

crace - hope you get a nap

Rose - any news on your db's eye?

Belle - enjoy making the easter bonnets

EllieM - glad you got the money. And I also thought you had midwife yesterday but just re-read and it says Wed so I was obviously rushing when read it

KayS - I already posted on your thread

Shoshe - that would drive me mad too!!

MumL - it's really cold here too today

MaureenMLove · 18/03/2008 11:37

Gosh look at the time! Morning all. Been out straight from school with mindee today, so this is my first look in. My poor old nan died last night too, so I've been on the phone to mother and brother. No sadness, she was 95! Just logistically nightmare for the funeral. She lives 300 miles from us and its next Wednesday. I bet my Great Aunt, who is organising it, doesn't think of her grandchilden and makes it about 10am! I will have to leave at about 5 in the morning to get there on time. (Actually, if its too early, I'm not going). Still, at least I got plenty of new shoes to chose from!

Mum2Luke · 18/03/2008 13:15

Good age then! I certainly won't be doing this job till I am 95 unless this government raises the retirement age hahaha . People do forget when you live a long way away and you have to sort mindees alternative care etc.

Have (at last) got 3 new mindees, all boys aged 3, 6 and 8 plus my 6 yr old and the other 4 yr old - a footy team! Its gonna be fun in the hols.

Gotta go as got loads to do, have updated policies for parents to sign tonight, tidy the house up and sort out an activity, have got materials to make things for Easter so i think we'll do that today, choc nests tomorrow or thursday.

Bye for now

Helen

Saz73 · 18/03/2008 13:20

I look after a 18mth boy, 4 days a week, 11 hours a day. She's arrived this morning and gave me a pack of 30 nappies and said it's that last pack I will get. Next pack will be pull ups.....why o why do they insist on putting them in pull ups when it's far too early, he's no where near ready just yet.

Would it be right to refuse them and insisted on proper nappies or just shut up and put up with them?

MaureenMLove · 18/03/2008 13:35

Is it her first Saz? Personally, I can't be doing with Pull-ups. You either wear a nappy or you don't! If it is her first, then maybe she will take some advice from you. If not, then I'd just go with it. If it works, then fab, if not, you just speak up. Good luck!

Sods law isn't it? I decide to give up and so far, one of my parents was offered another 2 days work, so 2 extra for me and now, one of my old parents has just phoned t say nursery isn't working for them and could they come back, 4 days! (I didn't like to say, told you so! ) Stuffed aren't they?

ajh28 · 18/03/2008 13:39

If i were you i would use the pull ups for a while. I have a feeling after a little while she'll start giving you nappies again - I had a similar experience with a parent who wanted to stop the 'expense' of nappies but soon realised her DD wasn't ready due to the fact that pull ups need changing more often than a nappy and are more expensive!!!

Or you could try talking to her. If he is her 1st she may just be naive and think he is ready.

good luck

Saz73 · 18/03/2008 13:44

Yeah it's her first. And unfortunatley she doesn't listen to the advice. Money is no object to her when it comes to her child so she can afforcd endless pull ups. Will leave it a few days then mention.

ajh28 · 18/03/2008 13:53

At least with pull ups you won't end up with ltlle puddles (or worse) all over your floor. If she won't listen to your advice, just try and be happy she's giving you pull ups and not a bag of little pants!!

KaySamuels · 18/03/2008 14:16

Hi all, one mindee no show this morning and afternoon littly is poorly, so only have after schoolies today!

southernbelle77 · 18/03/2008 14:51

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

crace · 18/03/2008 15:32

SB - allllrrrriiiiiggghhhttt??? 'Sup?

Hey Saz, and welcome!

Mo - sods law sods law - and tee hee about nursery.

HI SHoshe!, afternoon any better or are the three under 3's taking over?

Hi Kay, easy day! Do you still get paid even though they don't show up? That would SO wind me up!

Hi LT - all ok?

M2L - WOOOOHOOOO congrats on the new mindees.

Hi ML!

Sorry if I missed anyone!!

And as for me attempted a nap with dd, she's still sleeping but I tossed and turned, managed 45 mins and then had to get up for a wee. Honestly I must have a huge baby in there, I get up at least 4-5 times in the night and don't get me started when I am awake! Bladder and stomach the size of a pea! Not complaining about little tummy, I've already gained 28 lbs! but stayed the same for a few weeks now.

Started my Spatone (lovely iron supplements) yesterday so I am hoping my lethargy is related to that and I will feel better soon.
