Strange. Why would the parent I gave notice to, only yesterday, not bother coming to the door this morning, just dump lad out of car and go and also only send one meal in with him? He's suppose to bring four meals with him on a Tuesday morning. I hope she's not planning to get arsey with me, I will win!

Oh she also asked me yesterday if I would CM illegally, since it was the paper work that was getting me down! Umm, let me think for a nano second about that one!

Well I have another unexpected day off today, this time due to ds being ill! Had me up all night has fever and keeps being sick so I guess I am stuck in today.

KatyMac · 11/03/2008 08:29

Morning all

Parent asked for a meeting yesterday to discuss changing their childs hours/days - but they didn'y know what to or when from - which makes it easy to plan

MaureenMLove · 11/03/2008 08:30

She pays me tonight for the Tuesday tru Friday, so its not a problem. No payment - no childcare! God I'm 'ard! School run, 4 schoolies just arriving!

Morning all.

Hard night last night as dd's sickness was down to her having an asthma attack so was up half the night worrying about her. Much better today though which is good.

You're scary mo!! Well 'ard!

Replied on your thread EM, hth!

Sorry ds is ill Kay hope he feels better soon.

Sounds like your meeting is going to be really useful Katy

eleanorsmum · 11/03/2008 08:51

aw sb - my dd throws up when she has asthma attacks too. it's horrid isn't it, you can hear them wheezing and coughing but they're still asleep! then yuckity. touch wood dd has been ok with this cold, having regular inhaler and plenty of fluids. not really eating but she's quite happpy in herself. wants to make the crispy cakes with me today!

i too would have had day off - 1 y/o off today as poorly with me yesterday, afterschooly still not in school as temp etc and my other one usulaly dosen't come this tues but i forgot she wanted today as well! so she's soming at 9.30 til 4 so not too much trouble. she's a doll anyway the lo and will want to help with the cooking i'm sure! then we shall go to toddlers this pm which she loves! so a nice day anyway!

hope everyone else has good day and doesn't get any more sick!

KaySamuels · 11/03/2008 08:58

My ds gets sick with his asthma too, I know what you mean about worrying all night, I usually end up in his bed with him so I'm there if he needs me.

Think ds got sickness from nursery loads of them off lately.

Off to look at em's thread.

KaySamuels · 11/03/2008 09:01

SB glad your dd is ok this morning.

DS seems perkier now, but that could just be the medicine I've given him.

dmo · 11/03/2008 09:46

so parents are taking it well mo

BoysAreLikeDogs · 11/03/2008 10:06

Rolling up my sleeves and getting on with it today.

EM - have posted on your thread
Kay - hope DS gets well soon
Katy - Doncha love it when parents do that?
SB - asthma and sick, how horrid for you all
DMO - good to see you

Anyone seen crace and shoshe ?

crace · 11/03/2008 10:27

Flying visit - busy day but it's all personal stuff (SN son going to big boy school in Sept and off to meet them this pm) and lots of other stuff.

DH has dropped that he is going to the States for a company conference 12 days after my c/s. Insert PANIC emoticon here. He has to go, the political climate at work bad at moment but I am in a flap about how I am going to cope. DS is 11 so will just get on with life, I think I will get MIL to take dd, 2, to hers for those 5 days and then it's just me and babs. But it's the major surgery bit that worries me. I am not my best emotionally post natally so don't want anyone to stay so I can just "be myself" and will arrange someone to come by every night to feed ds and myself and hopefully sneak in a shower. Plus MIL is old school and I wouldn't be able to bf in front of her and that would stress me out too much. Rather be on my own frankly!! I am panicking about it however, tips on surviving girls? Things I haven't thought of please?!

crace · 11/03/2008 10:28

Boys I am so sorry for your loss hon x

crace · 11/03/2008 10:28

Ack, all this sickness! Keep away, Keep AWAY!

BoysAreLikeDogs · 11/03/2008 10:39

Crace, start a thread in pregnancy about your dilemma, bet you'll get loads fo good advice that way.. Been a long time since I had my Csection for DS2, I do recall being very sore; my mum practically moved in for the first week

crace · 11/03/2008 11:03

Good idea, you lot are just resourceful!

MaureenMLove · 11/03/2008 11:13

Ju, It will get easier, promise. I lot my dad when I was very young. I was only 10. You do train yourself to enjoy remembering him and each year gets a little bit easier. I still have the odd wobble, even now though.

Now tell me about Singapore! Shoshe was born on a RAF base there, I believe. She's a little bit older than you though. However, my cousins too were born there! My Uncle was in the RAF. They are 40, 42 & 44! How weird is that! Did you go to school there?

KaySamuels · 11/03/2008 11:27

Aw boys {hugs} didm't see your thread at the time but have just read it through and your dad sounds like a wondeful man. It's good you have nice memories of him, I hope you feel a little better for getting it off your chest and having a cry.

crace - I think all you can do is make life as easy for yourself as possible. Do you have people who can come and cook then? Pin them down to a specific day that they have to come for an hour or two and take care of you!! Get in some easy lunches and breakfasts that don't take any preparation and just take it easy. Be really direct and specific with people when asking for help.

crace · 11/03/2008 12:07

Thanks guys, I think it's going to be ready to cook meals in freezer frankly. And if I get someone to come each afternoon to cook and prepare ds' lunch for the next day I will be alright.

Sigh.. right?

iMum · 11/03/2008 12:11

First time visit to the staff room.
Have not long registered as a CM and at the mo busy planning some St. Patricks day activities!-Only dawned on me today that it is on the 15th of march this year and not the usual 17th!

Any CM's in Southend on here?

MaureenMLove · 11/03/2008 12:18

Hello iMum and welcome! Loads of activity ideas banned around in here, you only need to ask! I'm on my way out of the little people staff room into secondary staff room next month, so you can have my chair!

Don't think anyone is in the Southend area. I'm probably the nearest, just over the Dartford Bridge!

LoveMyGirls · 11/03/2008 12:37

please can you have a look at my thread I'll be back in a bit x

MaureenMLove · 11/03/2008 13:38

Aren't children funny. My mindee has started calling me 'mine' today! I guess its because I say, that's yours and this is mine a lot. Mainly when it comes to food! She keeps calling 'mine!' when she wants me! I shall miss all this lovely baby moments!

Finally a chance to pop back in! DD really isn't herself and so has just wanted to sit with me and do nothing. She looks drained and worn out. She was so tired I let her have half hour nap earlier but had to wake her as otherwise night time will be dreadful. She's now lying on the sofa wrapped up in 3 layers of clothes and a blanket watching tv! Mindee is having fun pressing the SAME button on the Dora laptop constantly, which isn't getting at all frustrating, really!!

Bless your mindee Mo!! That's really sweet!

Hope you get some good advice about after your c-section.

Welcome iMum

hi everyone else too
