taking dd to see her greta grandad this morn, do a bit of cleaning etc for him and shopping. not really a restful day but not hard at mo.

if looney pops in today, please tell me how big your bump was at 7 weeks. i'm huge, everyone can tell i'm preg and nothing fits!

crace · 07/03/2008 08:07

EM - second child? I was "showing" at 7 weeks - in maternity even. It's even worse with this, my third. I look ready to give birth at 28 weeks. I remember LT saying that she was huge too.

HI Kay! Mmmmm pancakes! I like mine the American way though, maple syrup and all. yum

I am fine, just Friday - the kids always go at each other by Friday and it's already begun. Didn't sleep fab either, which didn't help. OH well, onwards and upwards

Still floating along my mindees dad compliment/appreciation. Makes it so worth it. I was telling DH about it last night, how frustrating it is when you get zero input or feedback and how lovely it is to hear something nice! He just stared at me blankly. It's just a cheque to him really!

TFI Friday.

DS woke me early with constant nattering and now 1yr old is here (the hair puller/biter) and DS is shreiking at the top of his lungs anytime baby even looks at him! He is going right through me and driving me crackers. I find my ds can wind me up so easily but mindees behaviour rarely gets to me. aargh.

Am worried about ds tbh. He is an odd little fellow and doesn't seem happy at the minute.

MaureenMLove · 07/03/2008 08:11

Morning. I'm floating and sinking this morning!

Floating because one of my parents has just shown me the reference she has written for my job. Tis rather lovely. I didn't take it all in completely sadly, because dd was rabbiting in my ear about something, not quite sure what, but it was important!

I'm sinking because of this! I'm still mortally embarrassed this morning and dd and dh think its hilarious! The swines!

mumlove · 07/03/2008 08:11

Morning everyone.
just put a load of washing in the machine before taking DD to school, she loves it just being us for the school run today and I am going to ask if the fridays in easter hols mindee can stay at home with mum then DD and myself can have the day together (crosses fingers).

dmo · 07/03/2008 08:32

morning all pancakes yum!!!
just watched the whistleblower last night on iplayer

crace · 07/03/2008 08:48

Mo, sorry but I laughed at that too. Talk about comedic timing. ha! That must have been brilliant for the rest of them!

Kay, mine do too, they wind me up far more than mindees ever could. DD is a nightmare about sharing and listening and whatever else! grrr

HI ML - I love my afternoons with just dd and ds too, fingers crossed for you!

Hey dmo - didn't watch it myself, don't think I want to!

We are making these today

MaureenMLove · 07/03/2008 09:05

I know, you couldn't make it up, could you.

Dead easy morning so far, dispite the rain. Mindees all arrived within 5 mins of each other, 4 schoolies and 1 littley. Didn't take coats off, because we had to leave for school pretty much as they arrived. Mindee in buggy hummed and nattered all the way there and fell asleep on the way back! So although, I've done a school run and I have a mindee here, he's asleep before he's even started! He's a bit of a sleepy/home bug this one. I asked him what he wants to do and he wants to watch TV all day. I said, 'well we're going to the library and you will sing!'

looneytune · 07/03/2008 09:16

morning all, sorry got no time to stop as got my 4 hour a week baby on my lap. pretty please could you help me with this thread aboutVIOLENT TANTRUMS FROM 12 MONTH OLD

Thanks and catchya later, going to be a mental day!

MamaG · 07/03/2008 10:38

Maureen! Come and see the finished cake

Thank you so so much for the icing stuff, it was FANTASTIC! Now realise I was a wimp and should have made "your" cake after all, but sure DS will still like the one I did. He insisted on a Triceratops for some reason. I vow to be more adventurous with my cakes from now on - roll on DD's birthday in August

looneytune · 07/03/2008 10:56

Right, hello everyone

4 hour a week new baby left at 9.30am after an hour and half. We've called it a day, all on great terms. I just feel bad for the mum as she said she'd seen other childminders in the area and wasn't happy with anyone but me (one was even outstanding but she wasn't happy with her) I've put her on my waiting list for if spaces come up when I start back in September but that's all I could offer her atm. Oh, she just texted me AGAIN to say thanks so much etc. Bless her, I feel even more awful when the parents are so lovely. Anyway, that aside, I must say I feel relieved and have enjoyed a nice cup of tea whilst other baby is napping

Got a busy afternoon as I'm having my friend's 2 kiddies from 12ish so will have 5 under 5's in total once I've got the after schoolies too. At least dh is picking ds up for me so I don't have to walk back with them all, I'm just so tired this week. AND...got to leave for first aid training at 8.30am tomorrow boo hoo. No lie in for the next 2 weekends.

Anyway, how's everyone else?

Mo - I saw that the last parent didn't pick up yesterday - have you phoned them to tell them? As for parent doing reference, lovely to see nice things written down isn't it And PMSL at the church thing!!!

crace - how lovely, what was the compliment? I feel for you, had awful night myself. Dh is decorating bedroom as he starts new job on Monday so using time whilst he can. So, last night we were on the airbed and it wasn't pumped up enough so I felt on the floor, not big enough to turn and well, we both feel like we haven't slept! Tonight dh is sleeping on the sofa and i'm having airbed to myself, pumped up more this time!!

EllieM - with ds I didn't show for ages. With this little man, I was in maternity clothes at 8 weeks!! I've already put on nearly 2 stone and I'm only 24 weeks!

KayS - going to send your bits in a sec. Sorry ds not himself. In what way?

dmo & MumL - hello

Right, time to email KayS the variation stuff before 'madam' (see thread) wakes up!

crace · 07/03/2008 11:06

LT - sorry I have no advice to give re: your little madam. Just lots of consistent guidance "we don't hit" etc etc and I would even go as far as ignoring her bad behaviour and really going overboard on the good behaviour. ?

MamaG stunning job!

We made the pompom chicks in an egg cup, how cute! Seriously seriously cute. They all loved it, we put down paper straw first, then the pom pom, then googly eyes and an orange beak with a feather for flair. It took about 20 minutes for all three of them which I thought was a bit quick!

Need to gear up for lunch in a few but we're definitely feeling Friday around here. Squabbling, tired of sharing etc - every Friday is like this, they get a bit sick of each other. I have 2 mindees every day apart from Tues when one doesn't come. Come Monday they all love each other again.

OP posts:
crace · 07/03/2008 11:17

And my compliment! Copied from yesterday!

One of my parents just came in and while talking about my replacement they said that they hoped they find someone who does as much stuff and cares for their lo as much as I obviously do. Waaahhh - give the hormonal woman a break but how LOVELY to be appreciated. It was the dad too, and I never ever get any input from my parents so it's so so lovely to hear it.

OP posts:
MaureenMLove · 07/03/2008 12:52

I haven't had a chance to phone her until now and she's at lunch! Typical! Still, its not urgent for today, I'll do it when she collects, if I don't get another minute after lunch.

MamaG, your cake is wonderful. DS will be thrilled that you made him a cake.

ROSEgarden · 07/03/2008 13:48

I8 am* not having a good day ..my sink was leaking few weeks ago, lovely mindees dad arrived justa s i was about to cry and fixed it..all sorted...just got back from school run, mindees both asleep, thought ok ill tidy up, emptied dish washer, emptied washing machine, hung them all out, put pops away though oh ill tidy under sink a bit.................................................................................
BIG FKC OFF leak coming from the drain pipe inside, its on a slant and 'should' normally just drain down towards washing machine and out..but part that goes directly down from taps and exactly were the dishwasher leads too is totally NOT CONNECTED to the rest of the pipes..STINKS to high heaven of damp, wall is crumbling and entire until that houses very heavy porcillin(sp) sink is about to collapse i am so fkcing fed up now[sad}

ROSEgarden · 07/03/2008 13:48

sorry about the swearing, i swear when im fed up(obv not in front of children)

ROSEgarden · 07/03/2008 13:49

entire UNIT that houses heavy sink, oh feel free to ignore, i cant even spell properly

MaureenMLove · 07/03/2008 13:54

Oh shtty sht Rose! Have you called someone? Can it be sorted under house insurance?

ROSEgarden · 07/03/2008 14:04

rang mindees mum to ask mindees dad to havea look tinight, rang dp(why i dont know!?) he said he'll have a look..and do what??..anyway..emptied cupboard, hopefully the dad will collect minde tonight and havea look for me(hes plumber/window fitter)..but whole cupboard is knackerd..we CANT afford to start ripping kitchen out right now, just took on commitments that need paying first..so farking fed up now

ROSEgarden · 07/03/2008 14:05

dunno about houue insurance? never thought of that??? not wear and tear as it just 'out' not worn away and unit is like paper mache??

MaureenMLove · 07/03/2008 14:08

You got accidental damage cover? That's what it is, I assume. Someone or something has accidentally knocked the pipe off? Got to be worth a try.

ROSEgarden · 07/03/2008 14:12

yeah got that..howveer just been paid out for(not total amount) sofas we knackerd moving the in front room..woudnt look good would it..2nd claim in matter of months(i hasten to add tho first claim in 10 years!)..i knwo it one of those things, i didnt forsee it happening..but unit is so soft you CAN actually see were its dipping in the corner with the weight of the sink, but we hadnt realsied this was why!, we thouht it had just been put in wonky..also white paint on outside kitchen wall(and bricks in certain places) are flaking away..all adds up nowthe wall behind the pipe feels like fibre glass when along a little bit its rock hard concrete!?

eleanorsmum · 07/03/2008 14:22

hello all, i'v done too much today! and it's supposed to be my day off whopps. am exhausted and think i def must rest so will take mindee (11yo) and dd to soft play so i can rest! legs are tired and few niggly pains in bump.

but i've just been shopping in tesco and bought easter bunny chocolate moulding kits. £1.99 2 for £3 very cute mould with choc etc to make. also lots of crafty bits 75p a packet - mini pom poms, feathers, stickers eyes, shredded paper, baskets etc etc 3 for £2. guess what we're doing next week!

MaureenMLove · 07/03/2008 14:32

Gosh you have been busy Ellie! Have a cuppa and put your feet up for half hour!

Rose, I know it doesn't sound very good, but the fact is, both incidents are real. You haven't taken a pot of paint to the carpet for a bit of money or dropped something heavy into the sink. They may just deal with it on the phone and remember, the people on the phone are just phone staff, reading from a list of questions to ask you. They are people too and they make insurance claims, just like the rest of us!
