eleanorsmum · 06/03/2008 07:22

good morning crace and shoshe - thought i'd be first today but here you are bright and early. DD fell asleep about 6 last night too - thought she was coming down with chicken pox but she's fine today. will watch her avidly.
Busy day today - have to take all three with me for my blood tests which'll be fun i'm sure! then toddler group and then lunch and pre-school run and the hopefully some sleep this pm for little two! got committee meeting tongiht so no early night for me!

thought i'd link this for you all to smile at, my dad sent me it last night just to make me smile here

looneytune · 06/03/2008 08:05

Morning all. Just having a minute before doing breakfast. Luckily I don't have to rush this week (too much) as dh has been doing the morning school run with ds so it's just making sure ds is ready that matters

Crace - how you feeling now? Think I've caught your cold!

Shoshe - nice to see you!

EllieM - good luck with the blood tests. Hope you manage to get it done without too much trouble! Unlike me where I had baby screaming so put her on my lap and she did a quick turn when the needle was in my arm!!

Right, breakfast time, catchya all later

southernbelle77 · 06/03/2008 08:05

Morning! Just waiting for first mindee to arrive! Not got anything planned today. We have done lots of things this week so decided we will have a quiet day today!
DD off to in laws this morning as they can't have her tomorrow so she is off there before preschool so just me and the mindees!
Anyone think of anything we can do thats easy and involves VERY little work on my part?!

Hi everyone

crace · 06/03/2008 08:07

Hey girls! Shoshe, how are ya?!

Em - mine all loved to go with me for the bloods. Found it absolutely fascinating! That dinner in the sky would be my worst nightmare! lol - fear of heights being the main issue. Nevermind if you need the toilet?! Thanks for passing it along!

Girls, what can I do with used loo roll to make with the kids?

Morning everyone, waiting for 1st mindee to come before the school run, then 2nd mindee only comes during school times.
We are off to toddler group this morning which I am glad about as the weather doesn't look that great (more rain I think).

mumlove · 06/03/2008 08:14

crace - you mean the cardboard tube?
shaker, telescope, bonoculars (sp), trumpet etc.

MaureenMLove · 06/03/2008 08:20

Morning all.

I promised a list of fun Easter stuff didn't I? I'll do it today.

Would it be unreasonable to take the boys to school now and leave them at the gate? I really wanted to cut the grass out the front, but it looks likes its going to be raining by the time I get back, unless I go now! (I am only joking btw!)

Shoshe - you OK, been taking break? I logged on this morning and was going to ask if anyone in here had seen you around. We've got a leaving party to organise for me on 18th April!

crace · 06/03/2008 08:34

OOoh a trumpet, tell me more

Just in case you record details of how you made these things, don't forget you used kitchen roll tubes and not toilet roll tubes! Hygiene rules! What a crock of sh*t! Millions upon millions of children have been raised to blow down a toilet roll because its funny. To my knowledge there has never been a case of dysentry from doing so, but guidelines are you're not allowed to use toilet rolls because they spread disease!

shoshe · 06/03/2008 08:58

Hi Everybody, not so much as been taking a break, as not been sleeping so by the time the children go, just so dont want to do anything.

This flare up seems to be going on forever and DH is away so having to do things (like cooking!) for myself. How Dare He Go Away

My middle mindee is leaving on the 28th and a new little girl 13 months will be starting on the 31st, so will have SAHmindee1 aged 24months, SAHmindee2 15 month and the 13 month, but they are pretty good kids, so its fine.

southernbelle77 · 06/03/2008 09:15

Ooh, trumpets made of 'kitchen' roll?? Tell me more! Thats something I cna do today!!

mumlove · 06/03/2008 09:16

You have to microwave the toilet or kitchen rolls for about 20 seconds before thr children can use them.

To make a trumpet we use buttons or other round things to use as the 3 values on top and then make a cone out of card to staple or tape to the other end where the sound comes out. Either paint or decorate as the child would like.

crace · 06/03/2008 10:00

Yep, we "sterilised" ours first - and we made the Easter chicks. So cute, but a lot of prep work with 3 sets of fiddly bits!

Thanks ML definitely be using that in the future when I can face 3 under 3's and glue again. Oh the concept of "wait" and turn taking. One day we'll get there! But so so fun, and the chicks are mega cute. We got more glue on ourselves than the chicks!

In fact, the trumpets sound so cute it's on the list for tomorrow!

Well, 2 babies in bed and adhoc toddler in her own little world laid down playing on sofa bed in the playroom Supposed to be going to toddler group at some point this morning so hope the babies get up in the next half hour.

Was just about the say the same thing about toilet rolls Microwave is fine, same for egg boxes.

Shosh - nice to see you back

Mo - how did the last parent take the news?

Right, putting kettle on before gathering stuff for group. Have a good day everyone

MaureenMLove · 06/03/2008 10:15

Mum was fine! I had to rxt her in the end to say I needed to talk to her, so she was ready for it!

Had a cuppa with her and explained it all and she said she was actually at a crossroads anyway. Didn't like her job etc, so I gave her the push she needed. Phew!

I've got one more to tell tonight. I'm not bothered about this one so much, but she'll huff and puff about it!

Right, must cut the grass before it rains. I've been reliably informed by my DH that its easy to move the boat! We'll see. I might have to leave a bit of long grass!

fransmom · 06/03/2008 10:17

hello!!!!

vInTaGeVioLeT · 06/03/2008 10:22

hiya girls - day off today and ds at pre-school - i shouldn't be here!!!
should be doing something domestic

MaureenMLove · 06/03/2008 10:31

There's the health issue FM! Apparently its unhygienic to use them these days! [tut] You have to zapp them in the microwave for 20 seconds or so, to sterilize them, then they are fine to use on the new generation of little people who will have no resistance to anything!

ROSEgarden · 06/03/2008 10:52

MaureenMLove · 06/03/2008 11:02

Finish minding officially on 18th April, but since that's the school holidays, it may be before that. Start new job on 21st. I'm getting excited about dumping all my cm gear now! Most of the big stuff is going to my charity lady, since her son/dil are expecting and she wants to keep some stuff at her house. Most of the other stuff is little and all of you have got it all, so its straight off to charity. Ellie bagged the turtle sandpit and I'm off to give it a clean now!
