I'm just waiting for mindee [yawn]

KaySamuels · 04/03/2008 07:39

Morning!

I have a fairly busy, long day today so probably won't be back in. Started 6.30 and finish 6.30. Off to playgroup this morning.

I hav been doing my nvq work the last two nights and seem to be making slow but steady progress!

Crace - enjoy your quiet day - take it easy!

LMG - here

SBelle - hope your buggy comes today!!

Have a good day everyone!

eleanorsmum · 04/03/2008 07:48

morning all. sleep deprivation in this house at moment. what with loo stops for me all night and dd adding to it all at mo really feel like i've not been to bed and i've got my busy three days ahead! had to tell other mindees parents yesterday as they wanted to up their hours. really can't do much more, quite like having fridays to myself excpet for afterschool pickup. at least i can rest when dd at school in the afternoon on fridays.
hope everyone has good day, off to get dressed before first one arrives! yawn.

mumlove · 04/03/2008 08:15

Good morning everyone.
Got woke up at around 4.40 by a huge bang, DH though DD had fallen out of bed. But after 10mins of searching the house and out side we then found that the shower rack had fallen into the bath!!
Mindees have just arrived so I had better get coats sorted for the school run, then off to music tots.
See you all later.

looneytune · 04/03/2008 08:47

Morning all. I'm sitting here with my cup of tea and just my cat for company and it's LUSH . I feel like poo with my cold and ended up getting up far too late. Rushed to get ds ready for school, packed lunch, breakfast and dh must have heard my moaning about how I still needed to get myself ready as he appeared saying 'I'll take him to school' So, I've now just got to finish my cuppa, clear breakfast stuff up and then get in the shower and be ready for 9.30am (beats rushing a quick shower when back from school run before baby arrives, I don't like rushing in case I slip or something and can't get back up!!)

crace - oh yeah, nap nap nap, go for it!!!

LMGs - morning

KayS - hope the day goes quickly for you!

EM - how did they react?

mumlove - Freeky about the bath shelf!!

Actually......can I ask some advice??? How on earth do you handle the comments from people at places like toddler groups/school etc. who say things like 'oh, how can they leave their baby that young' etc??? I've had a baby from 5 weeks, another from 8 weeks and now this new one from 8 weeks and I'm fed up with the comments. I've said 'I'm not getting into that discussion' as I can't can I but ffs, I wish they'd all drop it!!! Tbh, I think it's far more of a deal for babies being left at that 8, 9, 10 month sort of age when they miss mum so much more! Babies this young don't really notice it and although I couldn't personally leave my tiny baby, we're all different and well.....I'm just fed up with people trying to get me to be bitchy about it!!1 Any other ideas of what to say back?

Right, tea finished so time to spring into action!!

Have a good day everyone, it's my easy day with just tiny baby from 9.30-2 then it's just the 2 4 year olds after school for the rest of the day

dmo · 04/03/2008 09:37

morning all
looney your doing right by not joining in as you say were alll different and it is a shame but some mothers really do have to work to keep a home for their child

Ofsted came on friday man was very nice i just had to submit some forms and write up some action plans for outr next trips, which i posted yesterday so hopefully thats it done with now

i so dont miss the early morning/night wake up's so gald my boys are bigger i feel so sorry for you lot , i need at least 9hrs sleep

crace · 04/03/2008 09:43

LT, you are handling that perfectly. It's frankly none of their business. Frankly, I am shocked by how MUCH leave you get in this country. You have 6 weeks off back home in America and it's unpaid. You can take up to a year unpaid as well, but the general rule was to go back asap. So 8 weeks is nuthin' and I would be frankly upset and hurt if I was that parent! Yeesh.. My own son was left with a fab carer at 9 weeks and I didn't think anything of it!

Hopefully someone can come up with something a bit better for you to say! I am sure "I couldn't possibly say" gets a bit old huh?

EM - I don't blame you, I got rid of my Tuesday pm people just so I could have a "rest". I knew one day that I could get things done, or just simply take it easy. It helps me get through the week tbh!

ML - that must have been frightening!

Hiya Kay and LMG!

Just back from having blood taken for my pg glucose test. Honestly how MUCH blood do they need?! After the third vial I felt like asking, you sure that's enough love?! Yeesh. Good thing I had a massive brekkie for the test. My mindee and dd (yes yes I had mindees parents permission) were absolutely fascinated with the whole thing though. They kept rubbing my arm, lol - bless them. How cute can you get?

Hi Everyone, glad it went well with Ofsted DMo.

need a few tips this morn, just dong a little note/newsletter to let parents know(although they already do, but may 'forget') that i do not work good friday and easter monday(i dont work bank hols), these are charged at normal rate unless i do work(in exception) which would then be double time..how do i phrase that? i wont be working but need to remind them that its a normal weeks pay?, schools will be off sdo not a problem for any of them.just need to get it down in writing.TIA

oh and mo, thanks for chipping in on that thread last night, seems the witch hunt is elsewhere now

crace · 04/03/2008 09:47

To be honest Rose I would just put the reminder that you are closed for the bank holiday weekend with the invoice. They will soon see that you charged them for it, but you could put:

I will be closed the 21st and 24th for the Easter bank holiday weekend, as accordance with my holiday policy. (or wherever you state that you charge them for bank holidays)\

Dmo - phew, I am glad it went so well. Must be a load off your mind!

ROSEgarden · 04/03/2008 09:51

Hi Girls, would any of you like an interactive Bob the Builder work bench with tools?, i have one and want rid as we have too many large toys, it comes with the tools, you would just need to pay whatever the courier charges

Hello!! Not ready anything in here yet as been out and about all morning!!

Just wanted to say that my buggy has arrived and I LOVE it!!! It looks so smart and it's lovely to push! Well, at least it is when there is noone in it

Going to take dd and mindee out later to try it out! DD will hate me for making her go in it but it's tough

Will read and catch up later

MaureenMLove · 04/03/2008 11:51

It was 'fresh'! We both had hats and gloves on though, so we managed! All she wants to do is walk now. Bless her, she's getting there, even though she's almost 2! This is the one with hip dysplacia. She's holding just one hand now and in doors she stands between coffee table and settee and puts her hands in the air!

ROSEgarden · 04/03/2008 11:59

aw bless her, shes had a tough run that LO hasnt she, thats two lots of cast as well isnt it?...ive just put my washing out...ON THE LINE!!!..first time since late summer last year(normally on radiators)..hope it doesnt blow away while im out!
