Morning girls! Before I forget, can you all take a lookhere in case you have any other bright ideas or indeed live close enough to help. Not sure that anyone does, but a MNer in need and all that!

southernbelle77 · 29/02/2008 08:12

Morning!

Not working today but thought I'd quickly pop in!

Got contract signing later (hopefully!) and then it's just housework for me!

KaySamuels · 29/02/2008 08:14

Morning back after school run.

MaureenMLove · 29/02/2008 08:16

SB, I just decided on LMGs wedding thread that instead of calling you SB, I would call you Belle for short! Much prettier!

FeelingOld · 29/02/2008 08:25

I don't very often make it into the staff room but my early morning mindee starting later today so good morning everyone.
Hooray it's friday!!! I love fridays.
We go to childminder group stay and play today, dh is doing the school run atm so I have time to have a coffee and eat my toasted bagel in peace before arrivals at 9.30am.
This is a rare moment for me so am making the most of it

KatyMac · 29/02/2008 08:32

Morning all

Today we have a nursery trip to the theatre

They have to have food at 10 am be a nursery for 10:45 then get back at 2 & not eat at all

I think it's wrong

eleanorsmum · 29/02/2008 08:42

mroning all. day off for me today! taking dd swimming hoping the water will soak her knee a bit more so i can get out the thorn! tried again last night but to no avail. did plaster with germolene overnight and a bit came out. but if still in after swimming will go to docs!

have to tell parents of other mindee soon about my 'condition', they currently do 4 days a week but the plan was to up it to 5 in march. would love to stay as 4 as it gives me fridays off except for one afterschool pickup. it's not in any contract was just suggested when meeting. think they'll understand but don't like messing people around. aslo worried what they'll do while i'm on maternity and if they'll come back!

eleanorsmum · 29/02/2008 08:54

meant to say to looney - hope today goes ok for you with your short session trial with srying one!

crace · 29/02/2008 09:04

EM, don't worry - I was very surprised how well everyone took the news and now in the process of finding them cover as I only have 9 weeks left today to work (12 weeks and 4 days until c/s but who's counting ). They all intend to come back as well, which surprised me.

Katy, sorry I am confused about the eating? I am sleep deprived however Are they not getting lunch then? Whose nursery is it?

Hi FeelingOld, Kay, SB!!

MO Lots of positive {{{{vibes}}}} for your interview today!

KatyMac · 29/02/2008 09:15

Me?
No - I am quite cross

I have to do sandwiches at 10 then something else at 2.30

I have 4 other children today who will have snack at 10 lunch at 12 & nothing at 2.30 - it's going to be quite tricky

morning to everyone else i have missed and to those who have today off, its poring down here so got very wet on the school run

MaureenMLove · 29/02/2008 09:56

Thankyou for your vibes girls. I am so not tha bothered about it! I'd rather just call it interview practice. I've seen another one I fancy actually. Much smaller secondary school and strangely much more money! The worst bit I feel about today, is that if I were to get offered it, I'm going to have to tell my parents over the weekend or Monday, latest! Plaster baby is so settled with me and they are going through such a tough time. She's got to go back in for bone graphs and stuff It would be so much easier if she knew she could rely on me, because I've been through it with her once already. Oh um, dog eat dog, I suppose.

I hope you've all looked at Idris's link that I posted first thing!

KaySamuels · 29/02/2008 10:59

Posted on link mml. Good luck for interview!

Katymac that sounds like a bit of a PITA. Oh well at east it's Friday!

I went to the range with ds when I had took mindee to school and spent way too much money!! Got a convector heater for each children's bedroom as in my last report it said I needed them, PVC table protection covers, craft stuff, board book, puzzles and toys! Eek! If DP asks I spent 50p!!

Hello to everyone.

looneytune · 29/02/2008 10:59

Morning all

Belle - good luck with the contracts

Katy - I'm not surprised you're annoyed!!!

EM - good luck with the knee. How many weeks pg are you? I wanted to wait until I was 12 weeks but I was so obvious early on, I told them around 10/11 weeks after I'd had the dating scan. They were all fab about it and I've even taken on 3 new children since and they all know I'm having 12 weeks off!

Mo - good luck with the interview. Will pop on later to see how it went.

crace, dmo, Kays, FeelingOld and anyone else I've missed - hello

Well, I have a stinking headache. Baby is sleeping on the floor at the moment so popping on here very quickly. He's been better at times but only because he's been on my knee most of the time. I have no other mindees today due to my best friend getting married later so I could give him more one to one time. I've tried sitting on floor with him to play, bringing toys up to us on the sofa to play but the only time he doesn't 'whale' is when he's just chilling on my lap and having a cuddle. He fell asleep on my lap just after 9am and I put him in the pram to sleep (all set up as mum suggested this when I explained I can't just have him on my lap) he cried when he felt me move but did have on/off sleep so that was progress. This went on for half hour then he was upset again for quite a while until I HAD to do something so left him on the floor after a nappy change and he fell asleep. Think the crying has tired him out, bless him.

Just over an hour to go. He needs lunch around 11.15/11.30 then he's being collected at 12. I then need a shower, iron whatever I'm wearing for the wedding and paint my face as I look a state!

I've coped today but I'm worried about coping when it's back to others being here and me not being able to have him just on my lap on the sofa for 4 hours

southernbelle77 · 29/02/2008 12:01

Do I need a permission form signed for mindees to use a big garden trampoline??

(sorry not got time to read and reply to all messages, will do that later!)

MaureenMLove · 29/02/2008 12:09

I'm back! Answers first!

Yes Belle, I think it would be a good idea to get separate permission for them to go on the trampolene. Better to be safe than sorry.

LT, your baby sounds exactly the same as plaster baby was, but I still think, since its only a short term contract, its really not worth your stress and mums stress to keep going. Shame, but he needs to get into a long term relationship with a CM now, otherwise who ever it may be will have to start all over again, once you stop work. Not fair on anybody really.

Now then - job!

Lovely, relaxed interview. Very jokey, very able to say whatever I wanted and reasonably positive. Sods MN to put a spanner in the works and pick my name of of the hat for a holiday during term time though! They are hoping to employ half a dozen of us and I believe I have a reasonable chance, but if it comes down to me and one other and one other hasn't got a holiday booked, they're gonna choose her. Still, its all good experience and there's no immediate hurry, so I'm not bothered. I felt very posh in my power suit! Back in my civvies now though, tres comfy!

crace · 29/02/2008 12:29

Mo, sounds all positive really! Did they say when they will decide?

SB (or Belle) I would! Girls?

LT - yeah, he's going to have to go poor wee thing. Not your fault, but you just can't cope with this for such a sort time really. And you certainly can't sit the whole time either, just not possible! Unfortunately it just didn't work out this time, but I would nip it in the bud, now, at the end of the settling in period.

Hi Kay and dmo!

Idis, wish I could help

Well, good news I think I found another c/m to cover my second full time mindee so feeling really good about it. Phew.

We've been busy this week, wrapped up today with fairy cakes for the mummies - we did the lily hands, sunflower and glitter cards and fairy cakes. Made for a great busy week, and considering we are all ill and cranky I am feeling rather positive about it! Just hope mums appreciate the work

I used to love getting stuff that ds made for me on holidays and I want to make sure parents get them too.

Either this afternoon if they finish early enough, but more likey to be Monday.

Just been to see cm across the road, to see if she can accommodate one of mine, if necessary. She's keen on sticking to term time only, but I'll point her in that direction anyway. She's so adorable and she's a 9 til 5, so I reckon she might relent a bit!

Got a bad headache atm, so I might have 40 winks before school run! Both are going home at 4 today, so I'll only need to stay awake for 45 mins! Big night out tonight for Kbears 40th, 40 on Sunday. Much drinking to be had!

BoysAreLikeDogs · 29/02/2008 13:46

Hi all

very busy day yesterday, no chance to pop into MN at all

Back later

southernbelle77 · 29/02/2008 14:08

Thanks guys, made a permission form for the trampoline - better safe than sorry!

I've been asked to do some early starts and late finishes too - would you charge more for those (what i would class as unsociable hours) or just the same rate?

Glad the interview went well Mo. Hope you hear soon and it's positive news

I'm sure all the parents will appreciate your hard work Crace. Sounds like you have done lots of lovely things.

Hi to everyone else too

crace · 29/02/2008 14:26

SB - I do the same rate really - I do a 7am start and have finished up at 7pm before. I am a very soft touch though, so hopefully someone else can answer!
