what does she ask for money for??
i'm a c/m and during term time we go to toddler groups, parks, libray none of these the parents pay for
during the holidays we go out to the farm, zoo, ball pools, beach, blackpool tower, train rides, swimming etc etc i sometimes ask the parents for a small amount of money to put towards our outing but as i i'm organised i print out a timetable 2 weeks before the holidays telling the parents where we are going, what the child needs and hope much (if any) spending money they need so the parent can budget for it

au pair (would he/she live in?)Au pairs usually live in as they come from abroad but there is no reason why you couldn't find a girl here who wouldn't live in.

nanny share - I did a nanny share and think it can be quite difficult to manage tbh.

CM - what should i realistically expect in terms of activities and payment arrangements etc. - I am a mum, not a Cm, but my opinion is that a CM is being mum during the day so would expect lots of activities.

She sounds like a charmer! Have you got a contract with the amount payable on it? You should have. She shouldn't be demanding more money from you mid contract, unless you are both in agreement and clearly you're not! I do the same as DMO, although not the beach! We spend more time out of the house than in. We only ever come back for food and sleep!

Well, you could argue about the contract then, if you can be bothered. I take it you know where to start looking for alternative arrangements.

(BTW, just in case anyone is concerned that my mindees have been left to run wild whilst I'm on here, I don't work until 4.30 on Wednesdays! )

Aha here you are, have posted on your other thread.

You might have grounds for immediately terminating contract, have a look at yours, is it an NCMA one?

Also, I would consider reporting to OFSTED the fact that she seems to have a lot of children without a certificate from them (OFSTED). Normally I would be last one to say 'report, report' but really, alarm bells are ringing.

Take your child out.

Could you tell us where you live, vaguely, we can perhaps point you in the right direction to finding alternative care.

She sounds dreadful

Gosh, I've just read your posts in that ratios thread! This sounds bad. If you can, I would strongly recommend terminating contact immediately, like Boys says. You could try to have a conversation about her lack of displayed certificate. TBH, mine is readily available for my parents and they have all seen it, but its not on the wall anymore! I used to put it up and take it down at weekends. Its on the wall the whole time I'm expecting Ofsted! You'll soon find out if she's breaking the law, by her reaction. If any of my parents wanted to see it, I wouldn't have a problem, iyswim!

Gosh, she sounds diabolical!

I am a cm and we do at least one craft activity (painting, sticking, etc) a week at home. We also go to groups where we do other arts and crafts.

Weather permitting, we try and go outside to the park or to feed the ducks every day to get fresh air.

Asking you for money all the time is not right. I, as yet, have never asked for extra money from my mindees to go on trips, although if it was an expensive trip, I would ask for a voluntary contribution.

I think you are better off finding a new cm as you are clearing not having a good experience with your one.

OH my! That is madness - give your notice asap, is it 4 weeks? You will want to give notice and hopefully care will fall into place. I would try to get out sooner than later as well, she sounds like a right ole piece of work.

I doesn't matter what she does or doesn't do with the mindees, the fact is, it seems rather likely that she's doing it illegally. If you have reason to believe, that she is operating as an unregistered cm, then you should report it. I know this may sound terribly dramatic, but if anything happened, by complete accident, to a child in her care, she has NO insurance to cover herself or her charges. How would you feel if you had done nothing? Completely up to you, but I know I'd have to contact OFSTED. (You should have a complaints procedure in your paperwork from her).
