grumble grumble baby still not here. Have text mum and no reply. Me and ds been sat around since half seven waiting, I have dashed to the loo incase there is a knock at the door. He has only come one day this week - I like to know what I am doing with my day! wE could have played in back garden, gone to playgroup (could have gone on bus with just ds), or library for story time. I hate Fridays I spend all day chasing people for my fees and I am sick of it. May have to send a stroppy letter out.

Am liking the tent idea!!

KaySamuels · 15/02/2008 11:26

How about....

I have asked you politely repeatedly. Pay me on time. Before the bank closes on a Friday as I am living hand to mouth and need it in the bank to pay my bills. I provide childcare for which you have signed contracts agreeing you will pay fees for. I love childminding but like all working parent I have bills to pay. Please show me some respect by paying me on time and not taking me for granted.

too harsh??
disclaimer I would never send this out for real, I hate having to be assertive. If anyone has a polite but to the point message I could put in my newsletter I would much appreiciate it! {sigh}

KatyMac · 15/02/2008 11:29

How about

"Just a note to say how much I appreciate being paid on time, it makes planning next weeks menu and activities so much easier"

& use guilt??

ROSEgarden · 15/02/2008 11:31

Hi Everyone, got about 10 seconds spare as got mindee who has just put notice in(after court threat!), nearly 2 yr old inde and 3 yr old mindee playing the loudest musical instruments they can find

spoke to mum of mindee whos leaving and pointed out the reasons she 'said' he was leabing hwere not valid beciase x, y and z and that if she had botherd to speak to me i could have made sure she got the 'right' end of the stick...she then said its not my care, her dp loves me its the money!?..whole bodyswerve from first reason!..that theyre saving for wedding???!!!!..i explained that if she had come to me(again) i could have looked at her hours(she pays for 12 as she uses between 8 and 16..somewhere in the middle)..we could have even changed her contract to 8-9 hours and given enough notice i could have then worked extra when needed..all down to her speaking to me..i REALLY dont think there IS a nursey for him..she said today she isnt even at work so is paying for me to have him for nothing(i ignored that remark)and explained to her(reiterating what i had just confirmed) that her ds could have come any day this week and that SHE chose today...ABSOLUTELY NO ARGUMENT, NO VALID REASON?!..i told her tis very sad she didnt come to me and talk and that i adore her ds and will be really sad to see him go...the heart strings were just not there to pull though i was flogigng a dead horse...anyway, life goes on...and so does this funky musical earbleeding tune..better go guys..see you all alter..have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOON

ROSEgarden · 15/02/2008 11:32

LOL at my spelling!..good job you all know what i mean!

KaySamuels · 15/02/2008 11:34

They honestly know, I charge a late payment fee and parents always pay me as late as possible (sometimes 10pm FRiday night) whilst avoiding a late fee by paying on Saturday!

They just don't seem to care!!

One pays by StandingOrder but always has a difference to pay as just pays contracted hours by SO, always extra hours to pay for.
One is in process of setting up SO.
One pays cash as hours vary hugely (this is the 10pm payer).

Standing orders sometimes don't get paid either as if there is not enough cash in the payers account they don't come out.

crace · 15/02/2008 11:52

We were accidently (DH forgot cheque book that am) late paying our c/m once (ages ago when I used one obviously) and she said very clearly, very calmly that if we didn't bring money tomorrow then she wouldn't be taking ds. It was the first time we were late, and even just an accident she was laying down the law and we believed her. In fact, she was scary lol but very very good with ds.

I think you will have to draw the line Kay and say to them you would be accepting the child without payment on the proper day. It would be worth it to me to lose these types of people and get the on time payers.

Girls. I've got something to tell you and you won't like it.

MaureenMLove · 15/02/2008 12:32

There's no one in there! Noones been in since Wednesday. Is that because they're all really busy or too knackered to speak!

OP posts:
crace · 15/02/2008 12:32

Good for you, and much luck with the big girls

MaureenMLove · 15/02/2008 12:58

How did that happen? One minute I've got the day off and the next I've got plaster mindee coming for a couple of hours! Mum has an emergency appointment and no cover, so good old Mo stepped in. I can't resist a cute baby!

dmo · 15/02/2008 13:15

happy birthday looney
fab news Katy

just got up having a lazy day just me and ds2

crace · 15/02/2008 13:17

Too nice is what you are..

Well I am down to one mindee who is sleeping in case THEY want to know why I am on so much - Friday is an easier day.

I had to tell a mum today that I can't watch their dd anymore she was only 3 hours a week but it's still hard. Especially as she was one of my first ones and encouraged me through a lot. It's the only afternoon I can get anything done though, particularly with physio now on the cards. Ack the guilt!

MaureenMLove · 15/02/2008 13:26

Tell me about the guilt! This is the only one of two parents that don't know I'm looking for work! I hope they let me know pretty quickly whether I've got it or not. Start date is 1st April and interview date is 29th Feb. That's exactly 4 weeks notice. Although, they are actually on holiday for the first 3 weeks in April, so I could wing it a bit and pretend my start date is mid way through April.
