Thankyou Mo, I just wanted the views from another cm. I thought it might have been a cold sore so stopped her from kissing the other mindees yesterday, so hopefully no one else will catch it!
I only have her Monday's and wednesday's so at least it will give it a few days for the cream to work.

i ahve a mindee with what looks like sore spots of dry skin quite close to her mouth, had it since christmas?..school not tunrd away and TBH, i thought was dry skin?..if still there could it be impetago?

MaureenMLove · 12/02/2008 18:27

Quite often childrens coldsores turn into impetigo, mainly because they can't leave them alone! It's only impetigo if it is an open sore and bleeding and scabby. Do a google on impetigo, its not nice!

Got to go now. Off to a Beetle Drive at Guides! Fast and furious fun! Be back at 9'ish I expect!

MaureenMLove · 12/02/2008 18:28

btw Rose, sounds more like a dry patch that your mindee keeps licking or it just gets wet from eating and drinking. Probably taking a lot longer to go, because of the weather.

Sorry for the quick dash in earlier but was in a rush. Well, I'm pleased I rang this lady straight back. She came at 4pm as planned and her GORGEOUS 7 week old baby is starting on Monday She's totally scrummy and I can't wait. The mum was lovely too

Right........catch up time.....

KS - I can't believe your neighbour would do that!

MamaG - course not

SB - well done and good luck for the BFP!

vInTaGeVioLeT - you ok hun, you sound down? As for the business, hard one, I'm split but if you're having big trouble filling it, as suggested maybe speak to the parents? I did this and got the sisters days changed to make easier to fill. Failing that, then I can understand why you'd have to give notice if it means business couldn't survive like it is. Horrible we have to make these decisions hey!

Hi to everyone I've missed. Off to make a coffee and grab a sneaky mars bar

crace · 12/02/2008 19:23

Mo, take me with you!!! Oh, wait I can't fly that late

Good for you though, many congrats again on the hols.

sorry old lady.. er, I mean Rose

Hi mumlove and SB, violet and shoshe! I am so pleased today is over... have had some scar icky tenderness from my last two c/s and I am now worried I am "over doing it". Yeesh, someone put me to sleep and wake me up on May 27th.

LoveMyGirls · 12/02/2008 19:24

I'm shattered totally totally worn out!
I've had 5 children (since 7am) then i picked another up at 3 so then had 6 children til 5.30pm

We've done......
town (had to pop cheque in bank) plus brought plant pots, bulbs and tape and glue etc for craft activities
toddler group
came back had lunch
older ones played in garden while little ones slept
junk modelling
plant pot painting
picked mindee up
playdough (I made more while they all played with waht i'd already got)
got all the toys out
tidied up
had dinner
I've now cleaned all up and i'm totally shattered, dp has been out all day (since 6am) with his brother and only got in at 6pm and has come in bathed dd2 and gone back out I'm missing him now!

Got 6 children all day tomorrow so expect to be even more shattered!

crace · 12/02/2008 19:26

LT - good for you, is this filling up DP's second space? How does everyone feel about you stopping? Goes to show for the right childminder pregnancy is NOT an issue. Well done you - what were we worried about?!

LMG- holy moley 6!! Good luck! Lucky DP huh?

LoveMyGirls · 12/02/2008 19:28

vInTaGeVioLeT - I have a rule now that I never take on anyone who feels wrong, my gut has turned out to be right so far. So if you're really worried about it being the right thing and not just a bit guilty (taking money out of the equation) don't do it.

I once gave notice to a pt'er (10hr) siblings, one ft and an after schooler, would have been lots of money but I gave notice after 3 days and ended up with no-one because I couldn't work with them - I wanted to make it work but the family had such deep underlying issues it was too much for a newish cm to take on I would have been in fear that my address would be found out and my family would be hurt if i got involved so I quit while i was ahead.

LoveMyGirls · 12/02/2008 19:35

I know crace - ages ago I asked him to have a day off during hols because i knew i'd be busy and thought he could care for our 2 and if needed even take them to his parents house for a couple of hours (i've never looked after 6 before so no idea how i would cope - brilliantly as it turns out I'm tired but the day has gone really well, all children very happy and good all day) anyway he said he couldn't get the time off work so I thought ok nevermind i'll manage, then last week he came home said he'd booked tuesday off (it didnt register until last night when i said so you're having the day off to go with your brother but not to look after your own children to help me? he said you don't come into work and help me when i have a busy day and i've promised my brother i'll go now) then on his way home he said oh yeh i'm going out with your sister's dp tonight remember we arranged on sunday? So there we have it.......

I know it's my business and I can cope just would have been nice if he had been here.

crace · 12/02/2008 19:52

Well LMG you book yourself a night out asap! Sounds like you deserve it

LoveMyGirls · 12/02/2008 19:59

I'm too knackered to go out crace lol!! We've got a weekend away booked in May and i'm going to have a week off in june.

We are totally broke so don't think i'll be going out for a while but the next time i'm invited I will try to go!

looneytune · 12/02/2008 20:18

Mo - sorry, didn't see it earlier, great stuff about hols

crace - wish I could hun, should you get it checked?

LMGs - well done you, no wonder you're knackered!!

looneytune · 12/02/2008 20:23

crace - thanks. Yes, this baby and the baby who came on Friday and filling up my remaining spaces. They all want to increase after baby born but now it's a matter of who I can offer than to as not sure I can accomodate all the increases unless I get ANOTHER variation! So yes, I don't know what I was worried about. They've all said they really want me instead of another cm and therefore the 12 weeks I'm having off can be worked around

shoshe · 12/02/2008 20:28

hello Darlings, Im at Tori32 babysitting, and I've never used aol, argggggggggggg took me ages to work it.

vInTaGeVioLeT · 12/02/2008 20:42

L M G - oh my god - if that was my dp he would've got a right telling off!!! how rude - i hope you said "well when you go to work you dont have to take your own 2 dc with you" - i would've been furious!!
