crace · 12/02/2008 14:25

Rose, sounds like a great day - count me jealous!

Bad news however, cold weather on it's way tomorrow in the SE

crace · 12/02/2008 14:26

This was in the Only Joking section www.flickr.com/photos/60376014@N00/2247731981 I thought it was great

ROSEgarden · 12/02/2008 14:27

im in NE Crace..can i have the sunshine please??

vInTaGeVioLeT · 12/02/2008 14:29

having a horrid week - things might all be achanging chez VioLeT

do you think it would be unprofessional of me to give notice to current mindees[one has been here a year] to take siblings - i'm currently working for one hourly rate for the majority when i could be earing double all the time

crace · 12/02/2008 14:32

Violet Sounds bad, all ok? No, I don't actually - it's a biz after all my dear. If you didn't fill quotas then you couldn't work as a c/m no?

crace · 12/02/2008 14:32

Rose it's a deal, though won't help with those wrinkles. Sorry, being cheeky. I have them too, tender age of almost 30 (next month )

MaureenMLove · 12/02/2008 14:37

Violet, I'm not sure I understand what you need.

vInTaGeVioLeT · 12/02/2008 14:38

yeah crace that's what i'm trying to tell myself it's a business it's a business!!!! but i feel really mean - 'cause i know the mum would struggle to get another c/m as i'm only one who does that school plus i'd see them at school with newbies

my weeks only horrid due to work! homelife is fine- thanks

MaureenMLove · 12/02/2008 14:40

need? I don't mean need at all! I mean, I don't understand what you MEAN!

vInTaGeVioLeT · 12/02/2008 14:43

mo - i can only take 2 under 5 as i have ds[3yrs] - i have one space most days - which i can't seem to fill but i have 2 lots of siblings who need 2 days each per week -
SO do i give notice to current mindees and start afresh with 2 sets of siblings?

it feels wrong but it makes business sense

MaureenMLove · 12/02/2008 14:47

Ah, got ya! That is a tricky one. Like you say, business is business, but a damn rotten decision to have to make. I don't know what to suggest.

vInTaGeVioLeT · 12/02/2008 14:51

well if i think of it like this £3.20 AN HOUR or £6.40 an hour . . . . it's easy but i feel like a big evil money minded bitch . . . . plus i've had one mindee a year and the othes mum cried when the last c/m gave notice

looneytune · 12/02/2008 14:54

Hi all. Been out most of the day, bought maternity bras from Mothercare and resisted the baby clothes for now! Anyway, came home to 4 messages on answerphone!!! One was someone asking about childcare so just quickly phoned her before school run and she's coming at 4pm It's a 7 week old baby awwwwwwww how cute.....so wish me luck!!!

Must dash, be back properly later but just wanted to say helloooooooooo

LT x

southernbelle77 · 12/02/2008 15:08

Awww how nice it is out there!!

Just got back from the park and it was lovely!

Back home now for a rest as not stopped all day and exhausted!

I think you need to think about your business Violet and do what you need to do! I was going to take on some siblings but they wanted dodgy hours and then one that I had seen before them asked for the space which meant I would be getting to same money for just one child so had to let the siblings down. Felt awful, but very glad I did it!

I'm hoping that the very cold weather on it's way will kill off some of these horrible germs we can't get rid of! Fed up with having to wipe snotty runny noses every 2 seconds!

southernbelle77 · 12/02/2008 15:08

Good luck LT! Not that you need it I'm sure

MaureenMLove · 12/02/2008 16:56

EEEEKKK!!!!!

I'm going on holiday on 4th May! Hey! That's Star Wars day innit Crace!

MaureenMLove · 12/02/2008 16:58

Oh and its bank holiday week, so DD only has to miss 4 days! Oh, hang on, how will I phone her in sick on the Tuesday, if I'm in Zante! Oh, Kbear!!!! I neeeed you!!!!!

ROSEgarden · 12/02/2008 16:58

Hi Vi, think about it this way, you ARE a CM, you are doing it to earn a living whilst being able to look after your own, you cant fuill the second place..ive learbned this week that MOSt parents will show you no loyalty when it comes to them or you, this mum may be different, but i would just explain your situation to her, maybe she could change days? and tell her you dont want to as you are very fond of her dc, but that you cant afford not too.

Second option, would ofsted not grant you a variation for those days???? so you get 3 to stay one?

Crace....STOP BEING CHEEKY YOUNG LADY...i do not look ,like the wrinkly titted old lady from something about mary!...i splurged and now(yes now, its THAT good!) have the skin of a 17 year old!

ROSEgarden · 12/02/2008 17:00

Yaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Mo!..bowt bloody time!..but now is extra exciting as i bet you thought it was an early april fool?[wink..have a fantastic time you flaming lucky minx!

MaureenMLove · 12/02/2008 17:16

Can I borrow your face cream? I've gotta get a passport done now! I DO look like that lady! Still could be worst, I could look like Cameron Diaz when she does her hair with that 'hair gel!'

mumlove · 12/02/2008 17:31

I've just finished now need to make tea.

I am 1 mindee down tomorrow as she has impetigo. I noticed it on Monday and told her mum to take her to the dr's, do you think it will be ok for her to come back on Monday, she has cream for it? Her mum wasn't happy becasuse preschool turned her away this morning as well so Nanny had to look after her.

I would love some cream for my sore hands to much washing them after all the nappy changes and toilet runs.

Another day done

when is it bed time?!

MaureenMLove · 12/02/2008 17:52

As far at I know, as long as it is being treated, she'll be fine to come back on Monday. If its not too bad, it'll be scabbed over by then anyway. Just make sure you've got separate towels (which we should all have anyway!)
