Yes, I'm fine, at the end of the day I acted in the childs best interests, it could quite easily have been one of my DDs or somebody elses mindee. It just happened, and short of sitting mindees down, wrapping them in cotton wool and tell them not to move, there's nothing I could do to prevent it happening.

hennipenni · 06/02/2008 15:01

and thanks for asking!, I forgot my manners

crace · 06/02/2008 15:12

Oh bless you henni! I understand your need for privacy on the matter, but hopefully lo is ok. You can't do more than you already have done, and as you say you can't wrap them up in cotton wool either! Hang in there x

hennipenni · 06/02/2008 15:55

Thanks Crace, They weren't at school for pickup but spoke to relative of the mindee, mindee is still at home but will not go near parent, crying lots and seems very uncomfortable, I hope they take to hospital as it sounds like the child needs to be seen.

crace · 06/02/2008 17:10

Sounds serious!

vInTaGeVioLeT · 06/02/2008 17:18

BoysAreLikeDogs · 06/02/2008 17:25

southernbelle77 · 06/02/2008 18:35

Oh dear Henni, I hope mindee is ok. Always worrying when something happens to mindees in our care. I hope you are ok too.

hennipenni · 06/02/2008 18:54

HI everyone, mindee has been checked over and is fine, just a little sore.

MaureenMLove · 06/02/2008 18:54

Henni, have you heard anything? Is everything OK?

MaureenMLove · 06/02/2008 18:56

Wow! Whats the chances of that then? X-posts and within a second of each other!

Good, glad all is OK.

crace · 06/02/2008 18:58

Good news henni

eleanorsmum · 06/02/2008 19:01

ooh good news henni. one of mine fell off a climbing frame last week but as i cuddled her she just got right back on! was terrfied as she fell but she stopped and then got up herself as i got to her then she climbed up again! thats my girl! filled all forms etc but was heart in the mouth moment. these things are sent to try us!

looneytune · 06/02/2008 19:13

shosh - so pleased you are feeling better, I am too and sympathise as I was really suffering with it too (all tearful and unable to cope until I got my AB's!!) Cheers about baby, I'm dead chuffed actually, thought I wouldn't be but I really am

crace - my 11 month old mindee is the same although she now screams if I move away from her at group or anything like that but that's a different thread. Your poor hands/fingers, wish I could help. Hope you get it sorted!! I booked a session with local oestopath today, it's going to be next Tuesday morning when I have no kiddies. The thing that worries me is DP baby's mum uses the same place for her back and if she finds out about the SPD - she'll panic!!! Fingers crossed they can sort me and that never happens!!! As for birth, oh no, I hope I don't get all worried. With ds I was on maternity leave crying with worry over it all yet this time, although I had a horrible labour and birth, I'm looking forward to the giving birth bit but maybe that's because I've got in all in my head how I want it to go. It may be that I can't have my home birth then I'll feel totally different about it. Anyway, {{{hugs}}} as I remember that anxious feeling!

Mo - I think that's right about being ok to be AFTER the title. Sorry you've not heard back about holiday, I'd give it a bit more time, it's only been a week and not everyone is so organised Been meaning to ask you, did you ever have any luck with any of those jobs you went for? Oh, as for babies crying when people look at them - it's DP baby that does that!!! New mindee turned out much better than expected in the end, been lovely for the rest of the day, it's the other one I really need help with!

EM - pleased the car got sorted

Rose - I honestly don't get how she doesn't understand the problem with not knowing. I really would say something like if you don't have the info by X, the space isn't guaranteed and may well be offered to another mindee. Rude woman, I'm so on your behalf!!! Nightmare about mindee too, any reason? (my dp baby is doing it a lot recently, no reason, I'm doing a seperate thread on it as need help!)

Henni - poor you, such a horrible feeling isn't it. So glad they are ok! Hope you are now too

Right, off to start a new thread and hope the 'non childminder brigade' don't all come and have a go at me!!!

MaureenMLove · 06/02/2008 19:28

Hello. How you feeling today?

Job hunting goes on. And on and on! Its gonna take ages I'm sure, but I keep applying for them, when they come up. I'm leaning towards Cover Supevisor in secondary schools now. Not sure why. I think I fancy a change of age group. It might make me young and trendy again.

looneytune · 06/02/2008 19:50

Mo - sounds good Good luck with it all and keep us posted!!

DONE THIS THREAD AND NOW FEEL NERVOUS FOR DOING SO - USED TO BE ABLE TO ASK WHATEVER WE WANTED BUT THESE DAYS IT'S ALL NON-CHILDMINDERS LAUNCHING INTO CHILDMINDERS!!

vInTaGeVioLeT · 06/02/2008 20:47

looneyt - just read your thread about screaming baby - poor you she sounds like hard work - but you have put a lot of details about yourself and mindee on that thread are you not worried that the mum might read it?
