Can you believe its hump day again already? Right, no-one is to discuss CJ today. I'm still exhausted and flabberghasted from yesterday! Looneys on the case checking out guidelines from Ofsted and let that be an end to it!

I read that thread. FWIW I wouldn't accept a mindee who had it, nor would I send my DSes to school with it

KatyMac · 23/01/2008 08:14

Morning all

Grr CJ (as people have been calling it)

LoveMyGirls · 23/01/2008 08:16

Morning everyone.

I've got a cold today, i'm still working (mum said its ok) I can't afford not to work for the sake of a cold anyway, dp's car has been off the road since oct and £300 later we're no closer to knowing what is wrong or why it won't start dp refuses to give up and buy another car feeling a bit fed up today i guess, fed up of working my ass off and everytime i start earning more one of our cars goes bang and we have to spend a fortune sorting it out, why can't we just have time to get on our feet.

MaureenMLove · 23/01/2008 08:16

Is that really a shortform for it or do you think people got bored of typing conjuntivitis every time? It is one of those words that you have to spell out as you type it! CJ is awfully close to CJD, which DH tells me I have!

I promise not to talk about it, it makes my blood boil that silly woman. Argh

Anyway, hello girls

MaureenMLove · 23/01/2008 09:15

Gotta stop posting on that thread, I'M getting on my nerves now!

Quick change the subject, what's everyone up to today!

crace · 23/01/2008 09:23

Me too Mo, I am done there

Today I have one mindee until 1pm (unusual for me!) and then it's off to the optician for contacts. I broke my glasses last week and managed to tape them for a few days but have now broken somewhere else so clearly a manufacturing issue. In the meantime I need to see so it's off for contacts. My lovely friend is driving me as I am now blind as a bat (I have a -4, crazy blind lol)

It does ruin my plans for today however, but ho hum

southernbelle77 · 23/01/2008 09:48

Morning!! Mindee 1 here already and mindee 2 turning up in a minute! Going to do some sticking today as dd wants to make sheep and it's something to keep mindees occupied for a while!
Was going to pop into town later but not sure will bother now as mindee 1's not got my money in the bag (again ).
Not been reading 'the' thread as the first few posts annoyed me yesterday and wasn't in the mood for it!!

Mum2Luke · 23/01/2008 10:28

Morning! I promise not to mention the CJ word too (whoops!)

I've just applied for a nursery nurse job, its a term time only one at Tameside (Greater Manchester) College nursery so that would suit me with my 5 yr old lad, a cm friend said she might have a b4 and after school vacancy if I get the job and need a cm which is nice as ds loves her! I'm getting so fed up with parents letting me down at the last minute -'losing job' before she was to sign contract, rnag her to get policies back and her partner said she was at work! Also applied for a creche worker job for Tameside Sports Trust at one of their sports centre creches, I could continue doing childminding as the creches are in the morning in term time and I have b4 and after school children. I probably won't get the nursery job but its worthwhile applying anyway to see if I can get back into the job market after 6 yrs.

My car is also playing up, I turn the ignition off and it stays on! Cannot afford for it to break down!

Mum2Luke · 23/01/2008 10:32

Right, am off to do the shopping and get some things to prepare activity for Friday Network Childminder group, am doing the Hungry Caterpillar - we're doing a healthy eating theme and I have the book to use with the activity.

We are starting EYFS activities and themes such as 'people who help us'

If any of you have some themes which I could use for 0-5 yr olds which are inexpensive I welcome them all!

Helen

Morning everyone.
We have drizzle here today I hope it doesn't get any heavier!
I have 1 mindee with me having a wonderful time having all the toys to herself, just having a coffee before needing to collect 2 mindees from preschool (they go to different ones), come home for lunch and sleep before going back to school for DD and mindee.
Please can we have a little sunshine soon.

dmo · 23/01/2008 10:48

mum2luke
dont start EYFS stuff yet!!! Ofsted wont be pleased it only comes in sept 08 and Ofsted have not been trained yet
if you have an inspection from now till sept 08 you must still use birth to 3.
hope you get the job btw

did anybody go on my facebook last night? got a picture of my niece onto it doing her smile

where is the CAKE nobody has offered any!! all of us are to wound up with cj

crace · 23/01/2008 10:59

Ugh the EYFS stuff makes me want to stop - yuck. I still need to do my course on it. The joys. Again I ask, why can't we just be childminders?

dmo · 23/01/2008 11:08

crace the EYFS is really easy its more to do with play and outdoor time which nursery schools and primary schools will find hard but we do anyway!
how many of us this week have been out in the pouring down rain? prob all of us

crace · 23/01/2008 11:17

Ok, will calm myself until I take the info session on it. Gin

crace · 23/01/2008 11:18

gin, hehehe even but some gin would be lovely

MaureenMLove · 23/01/2008 12:30

Just had a look DMO, but I can't find it. That might be because I'm technophobic though!

crace · 23/01/2008 13:06

I don't have FB!

shoshe · 23/01/2008 13:15

Good Afternoon all, wasnt in earlier, although up early.

I managed to fall backwards out of the car yesterday slipping on the mud! So was a bit sore and stiff this morning, so have been at home, with London11 and Shipmates and Tori3
2 doing singing

dmo · 23/01/2008 13:30

sounds like something i would do
my dh said i'm not safe

southernbelle77 · 23/01/2008 13:45

Oh Shoshe that isn't good! But it does sound like you've had a good time at home!

I'm just grabbing 5 minutes as the kids have been somewhat loud and hectic this morning! DD how at preschool and mindee 1 asleep and mindee 2 sitting quietly eating a rice cake!

MaureenMLove · 23/01/2008 14:21

Oh Shosh, you twit! I've been known to do daft things like that too. I often shut the door on the car before getting my head in properly! I get my hair caught in the door too!

Now then. Eeek! I've bought a dress formy party! I don't do dresses as a rule, I'm more of a jeans or black trousers girl, but I decided to break with tradition! I've bought a black shift dress, cut just above the knees. Dh thinks he's hilarious. I told him it wasn't too short, come down to my knees and he said, 'just covers your arse then! I don't know why I stay married to him frankly! It's a good job I don't offend easily! Off to buy a new pair of long black boots to finish it off tomorrow.

OP posts:
crace · 23/01/2008 17:17

Shoshe! ouch! I am a danger to myself as well.

Mo - lol, your dh.. witty thing. Tell him he is so clever that he can sleep on the sofa tonight

I CAN SEE!! I have my trial contact lenses so can now function. hooray

mumlove · 23/01/2008 19:18

Evening all,
just put DD to bed, I wish it was the weekend tomorrow as I feel so tired. Can't go to bed until I have sorted out DD brownie uniform for tomorrow night.

Shosh - I hope you are ok.

Mo - will wait to see pics of you in your new dress.
