I will open up then, just having a coffee before we head out to soft play.

Did any of you have that HUGE storm last night, thunder lightening and hail stones like golf balls.

Morning, I'm staying in today, not working today as such but do have a family booked to visit me at 12.30pm dd1 is at school, dd2 is watching tv and i'm just on here with a cuppa, i feel absolutly lousy (it's only a cold but you know when it wakes you through the night because you cant breathe etc and you feel so tired but you can't go back to bed during the day)

Had a new family round yesterday and they are so nice, all the famillies i've got at the mo are fab (someone on here told me it would reach that point eventually) today it will definatly be me interviewing them

All the pt'ers are slowly slotting in with each other it's very confusing though!

How are you all doing?

MaureenMLove · 22/01/2008 09:17

Grr! First chance I've had to breath. Mindee is eating second breakfast in her highchair, so I'll sit for 5. I've been on the phone to the bank, since they haven't bothered sending a redemption figure to my solicitors, who asked for it on 2nd Jan! So cross with them. Had to speak to someone is Outer Mongolia too, no doubt. I'm not convinced the message got through, neither of us understood each other!

Also have to phone repair garages. One of my Rainbow mums reserved into me on the way out of the the car park last night. Really could do without that this week. I might just leave it tbh. Its only the glass on the reflective section of my headlight. Not even a bulb broken. The car is going to the grave yard in the sky within the nexct few weeks.

eleanorsmum · 22/01/2008 09:18

morning all. my newbee actually slept in a travel cot for the first time yesterday (twice!), he only usually naos at home in a bouncy chair (he's 10 mths!) parents were really happy with him sleeping so well. feel quite proud of myself! had to sit with him till asleep but only 10 mins ish. will do gradual withdrawal this week. maybe this is the right job for me! hes currently sat on the floor playing so nicely with the shape sorter!

quick question though. do any of you use gloves for nappy changes and if so which ones and where do you buy them from? also what do you do with the stinky nappies? with dd we had sangenic thing but don't really want that in the lounge! have been double bagging them and into the bin but can still smell it in the kitchen! any advice please............

MaureenMLove · 22/01/2008 10:37

Well done EM, on the sleeping arrangements, I bet the parents are thrilled with you.

I use to wear gloves, but I only have one mindee most of the time, so I don't bother anymore. One of my mindees parents works at the hospital, so she brings me boxes of gloves. Nappies go straight in the dustbin here.

Mo - OMG, just posted! Sorry you've been having a crap day too!

Hello everyone, good day? I've had ANOTHER enquiry today, that's now 4 since I updated Childcarelink and put on Netmums etc. last Monday. Problem is, think people are being put off by me being pregnant and the fact I'm going to be taking 12 weeks off Totally understandable! Oh well.

LMGs - good luck, will MSN you for update!

EM - well done!

Shosh & Rose - hello

LLL - are you new? If so, welcome

dmo · 22/01/2008 13:14

just posted on the other thread

hi everybody
my sister is on her driving test today at 1.40pm please send her good wishes through the air (her dd is poorly and would mean she can drive her to hospital without relaying on my mum, buses and trains)

MaureenMLove · 22/01/2008 13:21

Oh DMO, everything is crossed for her! Is it her first attemp?

Saz73 · 22/01/2008 13:25

Hello

Need some advice, look after 1yr mindee since september 07 always had problems with late payment. Payment for this month been told will not get for another 2 weeks.

Been approached by someone if I would beable to start a week on monday with a potential new mindee.

My contract with exsisting mindee states 4 weeks notice, with having late payemtn probs do you think I could get away with not giving the 4 weeks.

ROSEgarden · 22/01/2008 13:35

ohhhhhhh GOOD LUCK Sis of DMO>

ROSEgarden · 22/01/2008 13:37

is it ncma contract saz? id ring them and ask?, but you 'maybe' could terminate agreement 'because' of constant late payments, it just means you would lose out on 4 weeks fee's but if you're not getting them anyway?and this other mindee can start?..check first tho??
alternativly, you could ask ofsted for a variation of ratios for the 4 weeks??

MaureenMLove · 22/01/2008 13:43

Cheeky blighters! Another 2 weeks before she can pay you? There's no harm in trying, I suppose. Breach of contract sounds good to me.

Next time, put it in your t & c's, No payment = No child care! 2 weeks is really, really out of order. I get arsey if they're a day late!

ROSEgarden · 22/01/2008 13:51

one of my apretns(normally v.v.good) has paid me twice this month as they set up voucher scheme and it hasnt paid me!, so its gone from his account and hes had to pay each week too!..bless

ROSEgarden · 22/01/2008 13:51

Parents LOL, my spelling is soo shit bad!

littleladylollipop · 22/01/2008 14:07

What you been up to? Hows the bananas and hows life treating you? Any good news?

littleladylollipop · 22/01/2008 14:18
